Storm Reid has easily become one of the most prolific young actresses in the business. In her young career, she's already turned in some major roles in high-profile projects like The Suicide Squad, The Invisible Man, the recently-released Missing, and the highly-anticipated HBO show The Last of Us. Her most heartbreaking performance to this point, however, is most definitely her turn as the supportive younger sister to Zendaya's Rue Bennett, Gia, in HBO's hit series Euphoria. A perfect reflection of how addiction affects families and loved ones, Gia has been one of the highlights of the show for her morality and respect for her sister in the face of so much trauma. While talking with Perri Nemiroff for Collider Ladies Night, Reid spoke at length about how one particular scene—Gia's fight with Rue—was the moment in her career she's most proud of to this point.

There have been quite a few remakes of The Invisible Man over the years, but Universal's latest take on the classic movie monster looks to be the most terrifying.

The film stars Elisabeth Moss as Cecilia, a woman who finally sets in motion a successful plan to escape her abusive, wealthy scientist boyfriend Adrian (Haunting of Hill House alum Oliver Jackson-Cohen). As she struggles to get back to normal with the help of her friends, Cecilia is informed that Adrian has died by suicide and left her his fortune. Cecilia is shocked that someone as brilliant (and psychopathic) as Adrian would do something like that, and soon comes to suspect that not all is as it seems - has the scientist finally figured out a way to become invisible and faked his own death? Madness, murder, and the ultimate battle of the wills ensues.

“The Invisible Man,” based on H.G. Wells’ novel, is a reboot of the 1933 film starring Claude Rains. Elisabeth Moss stars in the film as a woman who leaves her violent and abusive husband, only to fear she’s haunted by his presence after he kills himself. She soon discovers however that he’s found a way to make himself invisible and will do everything he can to torture her, all while everyone around her thinks she’s gone mad.

Universal Pictures and Blumhouse have released the first trailer for the forthcoming “The Invisible Man” reboot, a haunting modern tale of obsession starring Elisabeth Moss as a woman being stalked by her sociopathic, abusive ex-boyfriend. The classic monster myth has been updated to exploit contemporary fears, and using the “Us” and “The Handmaid’s Tale” star as its feminist genre heroine. The newly released trailer promises plenty of jump scares, hair-raising stalker scenes, women not being believed, and finally — sweet, bloody vengeance.

Universal has been rethinking their approach to rebooting their classic monsters lately after the whole Dark Universe debacle. Behind-the-scenes troubles plagued the production of The Mummy, which underwhelmed at the box office and didn’t impress critics, either, killing off any attempt to relaunch these characters as part of a closely connected cinematic universe like the McU.

Now, the studio has changed up its game plan and will be bringing us more standalone efforts, with The Invisible Man set to be the first one out of the gate. Though it originally had Johnny Depp attached to star in the lead role, genre specialists Blumhouse eventually took over producing duties and wiped the slate clean, bringing in Saw co-creator Leigh Whannell behind the camera and Elisabeth Moss and Oliver Jackson-Cohen in front, among others.

The image of the Invisible Man in the floating trench coat and the floating sunglasses is one that is clearly etched into the public consciousness…I wanted to kind of get away from that and make something that was really modern, really grounded, or as grounded as you can be when you’re dealing with a film called The Invisible Man. Just something that was really tense and scary in a way The Invisible Man hasn’t been before.

Imagine what it would be like to be unseen to the rest of the world. At the very least, the younger crowd would probably be chomping at the bit to get in to see an R-rated movie without being noticed. The prospect—however—creates a much likelier chance for people to use and abuse such an ability. Kevin Bacon’s Sebastian Caine found that out the hard way in 2000’s “Hollow Man.” Ironically, the inspiration behind that movie is set to return to the big screen, as “The Invisible Man” makes his presence felt once again.

The Dark Universe was gone before it ever really got going, thanks to the 2017 film “The Mummy.” But with characters as rich as iconic as the Universal Monsters, you know the studio wouldn’t wait long to get them back on their feet. Enter Blumhouse’s upcoming low-budget horror film “The Invisible Man.”

And as we can see in the first images (courtesy of EW), Blumhouse is going in a different direction for its horror film than the Marvel-influenced action spectacle that Tom Cruise tried to launch in his failed film.

The new project, about some mysterious goings on at a secluded island, is called Wellsville.

Exploring a noted author's entire back catalogue within the frame of a single TV series worked for Hulu's Castle Rock, so maybe it'll work for new NBC series, Wellsville?

H.G. Wells' books are on the serving block for the new show, which will follow Ellie, "a young scientist lured to a secluded island under the pretense of curing her terminally sick mother. While there she discovers there is more to this island and its inhabitants than it seems" (via Deadline).

Charmed's George Northy is penning Wellsville for NBC, through Gail Berman's Fox-owned SideCar company. There are no further details on Wellsville at present, but there are a host of premium stories by the British author to choose from if Northy and co. are looking to create a series rich in sci-fi mythology.

Exclusive: NBC has put in development Wellsville, a drama inspired by the works of author H.G. Wells, from writer George Northy (Charmed), Fox Entertainment’s SideCar Content Accelerator and Universal TV.

This marks one of the first major sales to another broadcast network for the Gail Berman-run SideCar, which is fully owned by Fox Entertainment. The company, launched earlier this year, is developing and producing/co-producing scripted and unscripted shows. Its primary goal is to supply Fox but the company also does shows for other networks and has a Darren Criss musical comedy at Quibi and an animated comedy in the works at Adult Swim.

Written by Northy, Wellsville is centered on Ellie, a young scientist lured to a secluded island under the pretense of curing her terminally sick mother. While there she discovers there is more to this island and its inhabitants than it seems.

Lyon, France – Since its launch in 2015, Talking Pictures TV has become the fastest-growing independent channel in the U.K. with a growing library of British film and TV titles that span five decades, according to founder Noel Cronin.

Noel Cronin attended the Lumière Festival’s International Classic Film Market (Mifc) in Lyon, France, where he took part in a roundtable discussion on distribution of heritage cinema.

His 24-hour channel offers feature films and TV series from the 1930s to the 1980s, reaching some 850,000 viewers a day and 2.6 million a week. Talking Pictures TV is available in the U.K. on the Sky digital satellite platform, Freeview and other satellite outlets.

Talking Pictures TV grew out of Cronin’s DVD distribution company, Renown Pictures.

Moss is set to receive the Halekulani Career Achievement Award while Park will receive the Halekulani Maverick Award. The two will join previously announced honorees iconic director John Woo and Australian journalist Stan Grant. Hiff takes place November 7-17 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Daniel Kaluuya, Elisabeth Moss, Danielle Macdonald, Aldis Hodge, Valerie Pachner, Samantha Morton, Sienna Miller, Alan Silvestri and Olivia Wilde are set to be honored at the 22nd Annual Scad Savannah Film Festival. Breakout Award honorees include Beanie Feldstein, Kaitlyn Dever, Jharrel Jerome, Mena Massoud and Camila Morrone.

Macdonald, who appears on Netflix in “Unbelievable” and the upcoming “Paradise Hills,” will receive the rising star award on Oct. 26. “Clemency” star Hodge will receive the discovery award on Oct. 28, while Pachner, who stars in “A Hidden Life,” will receive the discovery award on Oct. 29. Moss, who starred in “The Kitchen” and will appear in “The Invisible Man,” will receive the spotlight award on Oct. 31, and on Nov. 2, “Walking Dead” star Morton will receive the virtuoso award while “Queen and Slim” star Kaluuya will receive the spotlight award. “Back to the Future” and “Avengers” composer Silvestri receives the lifetime achievement award for composing on Oct.

Once Universal’s terrible Mummy reboot with Tom Cruise in the lead came out, folks wished they’d have just gone ahead and made another one with Brendan Fraser – the actor himself included. From 1999 to 2008, Fraser starred in three horror/adventure movies which earned a grand total of $1.41 billion. You might think that Universal were fools for stopping at three, then, but it’s interesting to note that they very nearly made a fourth entry in the series.

In a piece on the future of the Universal Monsters franchise, The Hollywood Reporter recalls that a fourth film was proposed following the release of The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Unfortunately, however, the studio ultimately elected to move forward with building a cinematic universe instead in an attempt to rival Marvel and DC. Harriet Dyer in ‘The InBetween’

Currently on screen in the NBC/Foxtel procedural drama The InBetween, Harriet Dyer is the latest addition to the cast of Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man.

Dyer joins Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale), Aldis Hodge and Storm Reid in Universal Pictures’ horror movie inspired by the classic monster character, which will start shooting in Sydney next month.

According to IMDb.com, Zara Michales will play a nurse in the movie written and directed by Whannell.

The producers are Blumhouse Productions’ Jason Blum and Goalpost Pictures’ Kylie du Fresne, their second collaboration following Upgrade.

Universal will release the movie on March 12 in Oz and the following day in the Us. The plot is under wraps.

In The InBetween, which airs here on Universal TV, Dyer plays Cassie Bedford, who was born with the ability to see and talk to the dead as well as help them with unresolved problems.

As part of their Fox acquisition deal, The Walt Disney Company controls screen rights to the 1989 comic book series, "The League of Extraordinary Gentleman", previously adapted as a feature film (2003) and now developing as a live-action TV series:

Fox had given a pilot commitment to the TV adaptation, based on the graphic novel by writer Alan Moore and illustrator Kevin O'Neill.

According to Moore, the concept behind the series was initially a 'Justice League of Victorian England':

"...in the aftermath of the events of the novel 'Dracula', a now disgraced and divorced 'Mina Harker' is recruited by 'Campion Bond' on behalf of 'British Intelligence' ...

"...and asked to assemble a league of other extraordinary individuals to protect the interests of the British Empire.

"Together with 'Captain Nemo', Mina travels to Cairo to locate 'Allan Quatermain', then on to Paris in search of 'Dr. Jekyll'. Finally in London...

Last October, Blumhouse rebooted the Halloween franchise – well, kind of, booting everything but John Carpenter’s original – and ended up making the most successful film following Michael Myers’ seasonal serial killings to date. Naturally, fans have been waiting for official confirmation that a sequel will be happening ever since. Things had gone a little bit quiet on that front lately, but Jason Blum has just confirmed he’s working on making it a reality.

With Blumhouse’s The Invisible Man reboot landing a release date in March 2020, one fan questioned the producer on Twitter about when Halloween 2 – or, technically, Halloween 12 – will be getting an announcement of some kind. The horror studio’s founder replied with a brief but encouraging: “Working on it.”

Things are moving along with the production of the upcoming Universal and Blumhouse film, The Invisible Man. We learned last month that Elisabeth Moss was cast in the film, and now we know Storm Reid (A Wrinkle in Time) will also play a role.

Leigh Whannell has signed on to direct the film based on the original monster movie from 1933, as well as the novel by H.G. Wells.

We now have a release date for the upcoming film of March 13, 2020. This puts the film up against Godzilla Vs. Kong, but that should make the box office pretty fun! It will be a great double feature at the drive-in or in the theater.
