Last starting role for Lawson

Wilfred Lawson was a great actor who starred in many thirties and forties films.However he had one by drawback,he was an alcoholic.This is his last starting role.His next credit,in a supporting part,is in 1952.Sadly this is not a distinguished swansong.It centres of the now almost extinct activity of greyhound racing.Lawson plays the owner of a greyhound,whilst Peter Bill Bill plays to type as the villain.It is all very pre.

This is one of about three dozen British films picked up by CBS in 1949 for USA television presentation; its initial telecast took place in New York City Saturday 22 October 1949 on WCBS (Channel 2). Since this title had never been shown theatrically in the USA, this was also its USA premiere. It first aired in Los Angeles Wednesday 15 February 1950 on KLAC (Channel 13), and in Boston 9 April 1950 on WNAC (Channel 7).
