Mel Gibson is a veteran star known for his work in starring and creating movies like The Passion of the Christ, Mad Max, and Braveheart. The actor is also one of the very few people whose gun license has been restored by Donald Trump.
The star had his license seized back in 2011 due to an incident relating to violence, and Gibson had been without a gun license ever since. Well, the actor has got it again, and the attorney who tried to stop it was fired in March 2025!

Mark Wahlberg has worked under some of the greatest directors throughout his career. Despite starting with big-budget action movies, he collaborated with filmmakers like Martin Scorsese, David O. Russell, and Paul Thomas Anderson.
Recently, the Boogie Nights actor worked in an action thriller titled Flight Risk, made by the critically acclaimed yet controversial Mel Gibson.

More than 30 years after embarking on his Hollywood stunt career, Chad Stahelski is praising the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for finally recognizing the field.
Following AMPAS’ announcement Thursday that Achievement in Stunt Design will become a new category at the 100th Oscars, the John Wick director told Deadline how much he appreciates the Academy “for really putting in the time” with the decision of how best to honor the stunt community.
“None of us [in the industry] would be here if it wasn’t for the last 100 years of stunt people,” noted Stahelski over the phone while overseeing a color-correcting session on Ballerina, which he is producing. “We’ve come a long way because a lot of other people have sacrificed a lot. Gareth Evans made a splash in the action genre with his frequent collaborations with actor Iko Uwais in Hong Kong. As a result, when it was announced that Evans would be teaming up for an action-thriller movie with actor Tom Hardy, expectations from the project were high.
Fast-forward almost five years later and the film, titled Havoc, had been mostly forgotten in pop culture circles. However, the full trailer for the movie recently dropped online, and it is everything fans would’ve expected from Evans’ return to the action-thriller genre.

Following the trailer’s release, Evans also gave a breakdown of its highlight moments during a recent interview. Evans’ comments tease a gory, blood-soaked ride for Hardy, once again generating hype for the project. As a result, the film deserves a better release than Netflix dumping it online, and here is why.

"Primal" is many things. For starters, it's a thoughtful look at the unifying experiences of loss and grief, as well as one of the most accurate (and sensitive) depictions of what it's like to live with an animal companion put to screen. It's also the gnarliest animated "Conan the Barbarian" adaptation that's never been made and often plays like a Robert E. Howard fever dream.
Case in point: Over the course of Genndy Tartakovsky's rip-roaring blend of prehistoric fantasy, action-adventure, and horror, the show's heroes are forced to survive scraps with flash floods of blood-thirsty snakes, colossal bats, and even a dinosaur infected with what seems to be a nastier strain of the Rage virus from "28 Days Later." And that's before they cross paths with the human tribes residing in this extremely anachronistic (not to mention gleefully pulpy) vision of Earth's very distant past.

Train to Busan is, without a doubt, the greatest zombie movie of the last decade, possibly two. I can think of a few rivals for maybe even the century. Alongside 28 Days Later and [Rec], Train to Busan fundamentally reanimated a once-dead genre, especially in a post-The Walking Dead world broadly fatigued by the undead. It’s because of Train to Busan’s influence that we got titles like #Alive and Virus:32, both of which are among my favorites from this current decade. Zombies are back and better than ever.
Mostly. While Train to Busan is a favorite among many, including filmmaker Quentin Tarantino. Tarantino remarked, “When it came out I was like, ‘there is no way I can watch another zombie movie or infected people movie, I just can’t do it anymore’, and I was wrong.”

Tom Hardy has never been one to take the predictable route. One day he’s wrestling symbiotes in Venom, the next, he’s out in the desert revving engines in Mad Max: Fury Road. The man loves a good, gritty project, but also, let’s be honest, he sometimes picks roles like he’s selecting a sandwich from a deli, whatever sounds good at the moment.
And his latest choice, MobLand, has me raising an eyebrow, scratching my head, and worrying just a little bit about his future in Spider-Man 4. But let’s take a step back for a second. Tom Hardy isn’t just some run-of-the-mill Hollywood star bouncing from one blockbuster to the next, he’s an enigma wrapped in a leather jacket with a voice that sounds like it was aged in a barrel of whiskey.

Are journalists stirring the pot for no reason? Recently, in a red carpet interview for Paramount+’s new organized crime family drama “Mobland,” star Tom Hardy (“Venom”) was asked about more “Mad Max” with the suggestion that more ‘Max’ could secretly be shooting in Australia this year. Playfully, Hardy told the journo he wouldn’t tell them anything even if there was something to tell, which people still took to mean something, but it just doesn’t seem to be a thing.

How was Tom Hardy’s journey to sobriety? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
The trend of going sober has been steadily growing among younger generations, and celebrities are definitely contributing to this shift in health consciousness. Tom Hardy, a well-known actor, has been sober for over 20 years, and he shared a fascinating, albeit wild, story about his experiences during his struggles with addiction.
Other stars, like Tom Holland and Anne Hathaway, have also chosen sobriety in recent years, while Ed Sheeran, after an honest conversation with his then-pregnant wife, decided to leave alcohol behind for good.

Filmmaking undeniably requires craft, but it also requires something additional that is less easy to teach, harder to pin down, and impossible to replicate. In short, it requires a kind of magic, an alchemy between the collaborators, the material, and the time period in which the movie is made. Sure, most creative people who make films as a career learn little tricks and shortcuts in order to help facilitate this, but ultimately (and to the continual annoyance of the studio bean counters), it happens or it doesn't. Just as the right actor can elevate a character and the wrong sound effect can ruin a scene, a film's original score is a key ingredient in making this alchemical mixture of cinema. While the covenant between a composer and a director tends to produce just the right kind of score the film needs, sometimes the balance is off.

Before Jason Statham took on the role of the relentless and lethal Deckard Shaw in the Fast & Furious franchise, he was already revving engines and dodging bullets and brutal pieces of weaponry in another adrenaline-fueled spectacle — Death Race(2008). Directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, the action-packed Death Race thrusts audiences into a dystopian world where speed, destruction, and survival are intrinsically linked.
Statham takes on the role of Jensen Ames in the film, a former racecar driver who is imprisoned after being framed for murder. His ticket to freedom comes in the shape of deadly vehicular combat. Death Race has carved a reputation for itself as a gritty, brutal film, with a concept that merges Mad Max-style vehicular warfare with the desperation of a prison survival drama. Tom Hardy is the human embodiment of a plot twist. One moment, he’s brooding as Bane, the next, he’s zooming through a post-apocalyptic wasteland as Max Rockatansky. But when it comes to spilling the beans on whether he’s returning to the Mad Max franchise, Hardy is tighter-lipped than a vault at Fort Knox.
Seriously, asking him about the next Mad Max movie is like trying to get a cat to take a bath, it’s not happening without a struggle. It’s not just the secrecy that makes Hardy so intriguing, it’s the way he dodges questions with the finesse of an action hero escaping an explosion in slow motion. He gives just enough to keep fans hopeful but not enough to confirm anything. And that only adds to the legend.

To make an all-time-great album, you don’t play it safe. Ziggy Stardust, for instance, is a far-out space oddity. Modern masterworks like The ArchAndroid or Art Angels mash genres at will, inventing sounds you’ve never heard before. While Geremy Jasper’s original rock-opera movie musical O’Dessa fails in its attempt at greatness, it at least understands that grasping towards eternity means taking an almighty leap.
You’d be hard-pressed to say you’ve seen anything quite like O’Dessa before. Jasper’s long-awaited follow-up to Sundance favourite Patti Cake$ is a truly oddball brew – a banjo-twanging alt-universe odyssey through a gaudy, dystopian world, where psychedelic ooze (‘plazma’) bubbles under the soil and Murray Bartlett’s cult leader Plutonovich has enslaved the populus through mindless entertainment. Enter Sadie Sink’s O’Dessa, possibly the fabled ‘Seventh Son’, on a ramblin’ quest that’ll lead her to true love and musical liberation.

The conversation surrounding divorces and settlements is quite a controversial one. It is safe to say that the public is divided in their opinions on the practice, specifically when news hits of people parting with ridiculously high figures in their bank accounts.

Oftentimes procedural dramas resort to a run-of-the-mill direction when it comes to action sequences, and NCIS and Criminal Minds are no different. Although these shows have their fair share of moments, the crux of the experience is always the narrative, and as for the action, it was fairly standard and at times a bit generic.

“Life is like a box of chocolates… you never know what you’re gonna get,” said Forrest Gump. This sentiment rings true when it comes to movies, too.
We mean, we’re talking about those days where you hop from one adventure to the next, with no map nor plan, just following the flow like a leaf in the wind. Now, imagine that kind of unpredictable thrill happening right from the comfort of your couch. If movies were a ride, this list would be the kind that keeps you buckled in tight, taking you from soul-stirring drama to mind-bending sci-fi, all in a single night. Okay, so maybe that’s not exactly how MCU’s Doctor Strange would explain it, but you get the gist.
There is no need for a parachute or seatbelt, though—just a bucket of popcorn and a TV remote.

As the Resident Evil franchise steadily marches towards its 30th anniversary, enough time has passed that a whole generation of fans now consider the series’ divisive film adaptations to be just as integral to the IP’s identity as the games that they’re supposedly based on.
And with Zach Cregger’s upcoming cinematic reboot promising to take the franchise back to its horrific roots, we thought that it might be fun to look back on the adaptations of yesteryear and rank every entry in this long-running series. After all, with seven live action films and an eight-episode TV show, I’d argue that there’s a Resident Evil adaptation for every kind of fan.
As usual, don’t forget to comment below with your own personal rankings if you disagree with our order, but keep in mind that we’ll be excluding the franchise’s various animated entries due...

The fantasy that rock ‘n’ roll will save the world has been rambling around since damn near the dawn of the genre, but I think it’s fair to say we’ve seen mixed results. Anthems about peace, love and understanding were political rallying cries in the 1960s, and sexual liberation sure has been liberating. But we do still seem to have an awful lot of fascism around here, and conservatism is so rampant that we may only be a few years away from outlawing music altogether unless it’s approved by Kid Rock. (The worst kind of rock.)
Still, the dream lives on in films like “O’Dessa,” a post-apocalyptic musical fable in the vein of cult classics like “Rock and Rule,” “Six-String Samurai” and “Vicious Lips.” “Stranger Things” breakout Sadie Sink stars as the title character, the last in a long line of troubadours who wander the wastelands bringing...

Remember when Jay Leno used to make fun of ridiculous headlines instead of generating them? Coming off of last year’s debatably suspicious Hampton Inn hilltop tumble, which left him covered in bruises, now the former Tonight Show host is in the news for cruising the streets of Los Angeles in a military tank.
Footage of Leno’s tank was posted on social media by some bystanders who appeared to be both baffled and delighted to see the Collision Course star tooling around in a tank. Leno even stopped to chat with the onlookers, joking that he was the “neighborhood patrol.” When asked where he got the tank, Leno claimed that it was gifted to him.
One might assume that Leno’s wacky tank trip was being filmed for his car-themed YouTube show, but there was seemingly no camera crew present. It really just looked like Leno was going for a joyride in a tank,...

Like many moviegoers, Guillermo del Toro is also a huge fan of George Miller. The director, known for his work on the Mad Max franchise, continues to inspire and influence the renowned horror filmmaker, who is also a good friend of his.

This month brings bad news for action, Tom Hardy, and Mad Max fans, and it’s all thanks to Netflix. Beginning back in 1979 and starring the now controversial Hollywood icon (and “Special Ambassador”) Mel Gibson as the titular “Mad” Max Rockatansky, Oscar-nominee and Venom star Tom Hardy took over the lead role in the critically acclaimed 2015 sequel, Mad Max: Fury Road.
While the Mad Max movie has now sparked a spin-off in last year’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, fans don’t have long to once again bask in the high-speed action delight of the Fury Road, as the Tom Hardy-led sequel is all set to leave Netflix on March 30, 2025. Mad Max: Fury Road was co-written, co-produced, and directed by George Miller, and sees Hardy take over from Gibson as the post-apocalyptic survivor and road warrior "Mad Max" Rockatansky, joining forces with Charlize Theron as Imperator Furiosa. WWE has given us some of the most electrifying moments in sports entertainment history. From The Rock raising his eyebrow to The Undertaker sitting up like a horror movie villain, it’s a world of drama, action, and over-the-top theatrics. But let’s be real, sometimes, WWE gets way too wild. We’re talking about the kind of brutality that makes grown adults wince and question their life choices.

Now, we all love John Cena. He’s the walking embodiment of hustle, loyalty, and respect. He makes kids believe in never giving up, all while wearing neon-colored t-shirts and jorts. But there was a time, specifically at WWE Judgment Day 2005, when the whole “PG Hero” thing didn’t exactly apply. And let’s just say, if you were a kid watching this back then, you either became a hardcore wrestling fan for life… or needed therapy.

Before 2008 ushered in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it was widely understood that comic book films would never share space on the same screen and, more importantly, the quality would never stay the same. In the case of Marvel films, movies before the 2000s could easily be considered the Dark Ages, while movies released after 2000 were more akin to a Golden Age. From successes like X-Men and Spider-Man to ambitious but otherwise middling entries like Daredevil and Hulk, Marvel movies were often a hit-or-miss endeavor. The same could also be said for 2004's The Punisher, which was the perfect blend of hardcore action and sometimes out-of-place camp.

We here at JoBlo.com love us some Michael Fassbender. From Hunger to Inglourious Basterds to 12 Years a Slave to pretty much any of his upcoming projects, the man is one of the finest actors of his generation. But it’s not like he lands every role he wants. He has been open about inadvertently sabotaging his own audition for James Bond by pushing Daniel Craig instead of himself, but he’s missed out on major parts in worse ways than that.
Appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Michael Fassbender remembered trying to land the role of Max Rockatansky for George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road. But it went about as bad as it could, with the actor remembering it was straight-up awful. For starters, he was late to meet with Miller by nearly an hour. Michael Fassbender relives his "excruciating" audition for Mad Max: Fury Road in which everything went wrong. Released in 2015 and hailing from franchise creator George Miller, the fourth installment in the Mad Maxsaga features Tom Hardy in the starring role as Max Rockatansky, a drifter in an apocalyptic wasteland who joins forces with Charlize Theron's Imperator Furiosa as she seeks out her homeland. Fury Road was critically acclaimed and a success at the box office, and there has been continued interest in seeing Hardy reprise his role in the reported follow-up, Mad Max: The Wasteland.
During a recent interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Fassbender reveals that he was up for the Mad Max: Fury Road role that eventually ended up going to Hardy. Before Tom Hardy was cast as "Mad Max" Rockatansky in Mad Max: Fury Road, Michael Fassbender auditioned for the role. According to the X-Men star, the entire process was a complete disaster.

Before Daniel Craig was cast as the new James Bond in Casino Royale, Michael Fassbender was one of many young actors who auditioned for the role. However, Fassbender explained on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that he spent his audition promoting another actor instead: Daniel Craig.
“I met with Barbara Broccoli just you know through passing and I actually went in to an audition phase before Daniel [Craig] was cast, but I don’t think I was ever in the mix,” Fassbender said. “But I remember going into that room and meeting with her and [Michael G.] Wilson and I think I was like, ‘Daniel Craig is…’ I don’t know why I was promoting him. I should have been promoting myself.“
Fassbender continued, “This is what I was saying. I was terrible at auditions. Obviously Daniel did a fantastic job and went on to be, I think, the most successful Bond in history.

Michael Fassbender Details His Awful ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Audition: ‘It Was So Excruciating’ | Video
Michael Fassbender said a series of quirky events while auditioning for George Miller’s hit action sci-fi film “Mad Max: Fury Road” led to an “excruciating” experience.
“That was one of the worst auditions, recent auditions … I mean, recent,” Fassbender said while appearing on Thursday’s episode of Josh Horowitz’s “Happy Sad Confused” podcast. The host cut in saying that the audition had to be at least 12 years ago.
“Thankfully, I have not had to audition in a while,” Fassbender jokingly added.

History was made on 3 November 2024 at the Interlagos Circuit in Brazil. As rain poured down on the race track and cars slipped every which way under the strenuous wet conditions, the São Paulo Grand Prix was one of the most entertaining races of the 2024 season. And yet, Drive to Survive failed to capitalize on the hilarious weekend that was nothing short of circus comedy.

Author Alan Dean Foster talks to us about his connections to some of the most important sci-fi films of all time, including Star Wars, Star Trek, Alien and more.
With a career spanning over five decades, dozens of novels and many more short stories, Alan Dean Foster is one of the most prolific genre writers currently working. And whether he’s writing sci-fi or fantasy, novelisations of major films or personal storytelling, Foster’s work has always had a touch of the cinematic about it.
In one of his earliest published stories, a 1971 short called Why Johnny Can’t Speed, Foster imagines a near future in which drivers rumble onto freeways with guns strapped to their vehicles. It’s truly remarkable that the same actor who played a grim detective in Chinatown and a disturbed mental patient in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nestcould also play a charismatic astronaut in Terms of Endearment and the original Joker in Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman. Nicholson has often been drawn to working with filmmakers who have strong visions, so it is no surprise that he was interested in working with the great George Millerafter his work on the Mad Max trilogy was hailed as a titanic achievement in action filmmaking. Marvel has created some of the most iconic superheroes in comic book history, so it was only a matter of time before mockbusters manifested. Whether it's Spider-Man, Captain America, or even Daredevil, filmmakers have long attempted to cash in on these legendary characters; sometimes as blatant knockoffs, other times as affectionate homages, and on occasion as baffling hybrids of both. With their low budgets and borderline intellectual property theft, most mockbusters are easy to dismiss as shameless cash grabs. However, even when a film is just Iron Man with a fraction of the budget, there is usually something to admire; whether it's the creative marketing needed to dodge Disney’s legal team, the bizarre reinventions that arise when filmmakers have not actually seen the movie they are copying, or just the sheer audacity to release something so wildly off base.

On the visual level, O’Dessa, writer-director Geremy Jasper’s follow-up to his 2017 crowd-pleaser Patti Cake$, revels in maximalism. Every set is littered with trinkets and lit in neon, every surface caked with layers of ancient grime, every costume a riot of textures and colors.
Its narrative concept aims high, too, transposing the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice into a postapocalyptic Mad Max-meets-Blade Runner landscape. Its themes are heartfelt and grandiose: the power of music, the power of love, the power of music forged in love to transform the world.
Underneath all those lofty intentions, however, the experience of actually watching the film is more akin to watching a really long trailer. There’s a distinctive eye here, and a promising sense of ambition. But in its current form, there’s not enough meat on its (admittedly cool-looking) bones to justify its 106-minute run time.

Hulu's hit new drama Paradise wrapped its eight-episode first season this week. Agent Xavier Collins solved the murder of President Bradford, Sinatra was temporarily stopped, and things appear to be changing in the town of Paradise. But obviously, not everything was wrapped up with a neat little bow. Gotta keep the viewers hooked over the break somehow, right? Paradise has been renewed for a second season and is even set to return to production in just a few weeks.
After wrapping up Season 1's mystery, the final moments of the finale teased something even bigger for the second outing. Consider this your last chance to turn back before spoilers. Xavier spent most of the first season believing his wife, Teri, had died after not making it to the bunker with him and their children. But it seems like she may have survived the initial catastrophe, along with thousands or even millions of other survivors.

Netflix comes up with a new trick every time its position at the top is threatened by factors beyond its control – like F1 dropping Daniel Ricciardo in the middle of the 2024 Grand Prix season. Considering how the Aussie has been the fan-favorite in Drive to Survive and the show’s de facto protagonist, it was understandable for Netflix to begin scouring the field for its next star.

Multiple new drivers and team principals have entered the grid, making Drive to Survive‘s latest season seem like a badly recast show with new faces filling in for the old favorites. The new players are also deemed an interesting project for Netflix as they get categorized as heroes and villains from the get-go.

Under normal circumstances, we like to think of sets as extremely controlled environments. People are trying to make a movie or a television show, of course, but there's also a considerable number of individuals working solely to keep everyone on set safe. But in spite of these protections that are in place on set -- now more than ever before in the history of cinema -- tragic accidents still happen. While stunt performers are still far more likely to die or be seriously injured on set, and we're still miles away from adequately protecting them in their dangerous work, there have been rare occasions where actors died while actively on a shoot.

Actor Nani and director Srikanth Odela are joining forces again for “The Paradise,” a Telugu action thriller set to hit theaters on March 26, 2026. This time, they’re diving into a gritty story about a marginalized tribe battling for their rights in 1980s Secunderabad. The film promises to be a raw, unfiltered look at societal prejudice, with Nani calling it “India’s ‘Mad Max’” and Odela vowing to deliver a tale that’s both authentic and hard-hitting.
The movie centers on an outcast group, compared to crows, who’ve been denied basic rights like citizenship. Their hope lies in an unlikely figure—described as “a bastard”—who rises to lead them against a system built to crush them. Nani plays this fierce protagonist, sporting twin braids in a striking new look that’s already grabbing attention. Odela, who broke out with his 2023 hit “Dasara” starring Nani, says the film’s core...

In what’s being positioned as “India’s ‘Mad Max,'” star Nani and acclaimed director Srikanth Odela have unveiled details for “The Paradise,” an examination of societal prejudice set against the backdrop of 1980s Secunderabad.
The film follows a marginalized tribe stripped of their rights who find hope in an unlikely leader — a character described simply as “a bastard” — who guides their fight for citizenship and recognition in a system designed to keep them oppressed. “You don’t need an identity to be a leader” serves as the film’s central thesis, with Odela promising to tackle bureaucracy, oppression and exploitation without the filters typically applied to Indian cinema.
“This time, we are not blurring or masking societal taboos,” Odela said. “As a filmmaker, I am committed to presenting the film in its rawest form. ‘The Paradise’ will stand as one of the most authentic, original and unapologetically honest Indian films,...

Given the phenomenal success of “Game of Thrones,” which began broadcasting 14 years ago, it’s somewhat surprising that “In the Lost Lands” represents only the second time author George R.R. Martin’s work has been adapted for the big screen (the other being 1987’s low-budget sci-fi horror “Nightflyers”). Fans of that cable series and its spinoffs shouldn’t expect the same scale or intricacy of epic storytelling from this feature, which is taken from a short story. But on its own terms, the ninth collaboration between director Paul W.S. Anderson and star Milla Jovovich is perfectly serviceable popcorn fantasy entertainment — an attractive, action-packed ride, making up for in fun what it lacks in depth.
A begrimed Dave Bautista as mercenary drifter Boyce begins relating this “tale of magic and witches, of quests and of monsters, of good and of evil” in direct camera address. Actually, that description is a bit grandiose for what ensues,...

Plot: A sorceress travels to the Lost Lands in search of a magical power that allows a person to transform into a werewolf.
Review: Collaborations between Milla Jovovich and her husband Paul Ws Anderson are the norm at this point. While we watched them create Resident Evil movies together for years, they’re now turning to the world of George Rr Martin for their seventh collaboration. And with all that Game of Thrones hype behind him, you’d expect Martin to provide a new and interesting fantasy world for the two to play in. It’s funny what they say about assumptions, eh?
Jovovich stars as Gray Alys, a witch who is on a mission to find a werewolf who is murdering people. As much as the trailer makes it seems like something grander, that’s really all it is. She hires Boyce (Dave Bautista) to help her navigate the Lost Lands.
