I love my Italian Giallo films for them being violent, devoid of coherent plot, well shot and poorly dubbed. "Bloody Moon" as my version was hits all those marks pretty well.
A guy gets let out of an insane asylum for murdering a woman 5 years after the act, to be put in the care of his sister who lives(maybe works) on a all girls school on an island. At the same time a new girl is joining the school is feeling stalked and is seeing fellow classmates get killed.
This makes for hilarious dialogue during the meat of the movie as her concerns are met with;"Angela, you are acting hysterical, you need to get to bed" after describing, in graphic detail the murder of a fellow classmate. And when classmates go missing, after being told by her that they were killed, it's: "Ah she just probably ran off with some boy." These fools would probably be in a burning building and say: "That is just because the heater is on, you are imagining things."
This all leads to a big reveal of a convoluted plot explaining what is really happening and the main character having nothing to do with actually solving the mystery. This doesn't explain a lot of the nonsense in the middle of the film but it is part of the fun. The ending feels like they desperately wanted to end the film hoping no one would notice the insane gaps of logic that got us to that point.
The movie makes for lots of laughs and decent gore. That is what I came for, that is what I got but it did not overachieve.
