Années d'enfance

In 1942, in Amsterdam, the three year-old boy Jonah (Luke Petterson), his father (Jean-Hugues Anglade) and his mother (Juliet Aubrey) are deported by the Germans to a concentration camp. Along the years, Jonah (Jenner Del Vecchio) grows up protected and oriented by his mother since his father was sent to another camp and has passed away.

"Jona che visse nella balena" is a film that looks like a soap-opera, with a melodramatic and sometimes stupid view of the World War II. The screenplay is awful with the most unbelievable scenes. For example, the group of Jews challenges the Germans singing with no consequences; Jonah's father leaves the transportation truck to bring his cigars that he has forgotten; Jonah's father is ill but has strength and desire for having intercourse with his wife; the older Jewish children are happy as if they were in a playground and evil enough to send the little Jonah to dangerous situations. My vote is five.
