A mediocre series with moments of brilliance, thanks to standout performances from Sovagovic and Kojadinovic. Sadly, Rade Serbedzija doesn't contribute to these highlights, delivering a performance that feels both bland and overly theatrical-a common issue in his work. Serbedzija often plays characters as extensions of his own personality, which overshadows the depth and nuance required for the role. In this series, his portrayal of Ivica Krcmanovic feels shallow and misses the character's growth as depicted in Ante Kovacic's novel. While the novel is a cornerstone of Croatian literature, this adaptation fails to live up to its source material, remaining underwhelming overall.
