Morgan Wade wasn’t trying to write a new record. Especially since her last release, 2023’s Psychopath, the last thing she wanted was to go through the public wringer again. “I was really struggling,” Wade says, calling from a West Virginia parking lot that she’s circling to get cell service. “I was not feeling a connection with it. My record wasn’t talked about, and that really messed with me.”
Don’t get her wrong: People were talking about her. Talking about her friendship with Kyle Richards, of Real Housewives fame,...

Morgan Wade is headlong in a kind of love she’s never felt before in “Psychopath,” the first single and title track from the “Wilder Days” artist’s second album. Psychopath the album will be released Aug. 25 via Sony Music Nashville.
“Psychopath” is a gently rising and falling waltz that, contrary to its title, depicts the warm glow of love. “You say I’m a psychopath/sittin’ at the bar drinkin’ my coffee black,” Wade sings, her acoustic guitar joined in short order by some echoing electric guitar and the rest of the band.

Following her mainstage set at FloydFest last weekend, in front of a raucous crowd of thousands, singer-songwriter Morgan Wade takes a seat on a couch backstage. Between sips of coffee, a slight grin emerges on her face when asked what the performance meant to her.
“I grew up about three miles from here,” the 27-year-old “Wilder Days” singer tells Rolling Stone, “so I was able to get my dad to drop me off today, which was really nice.”
For Wade, FloydFest is all but where she entered the big time.

The last time we reported on a planned biopic of elephant conservationist Daphne Sheldrick, it was the project's former writer and director Nick Cassavetes suing New Line over what he called broken promises for him to write and direct the film. Cassavetes is most definitely still not involved, but the movie, now retitled My Wild Life, is finally ready to get made. THR reports that Nicole Kidman is attached to star as Sheldrick, with Philip Noyce, most recently of the Angelina Jolie action vehicle Salt, set to direct. The script is written by Jeff Stockwell, most recently behind Bridge to Terabithia and also an oddly similar sounding project Wilder Days. Ok, that movie is actually similar at all-- it stars Peter Falk, Tim Daly and a very young Josh Hutcherson, if you can believe it-- but there will probably be IMDb confusion about it anyway. As for My WIld Life,...

Us actor whose success as the scruffy TV detective Columbo was complemented by a wide range of stage and screen roles
Show-business history records that the American actor Peter Falk, who has died aged 83, made his stage debut the year before he left high school, presciently cast as a detective. Despite the 17-year-old's fleeting success, he had no thoughts of pursuing acting as a career – if only because tough kids from the Bronx considered it an unsuitable job for a man. Just 24 years later, Falk made his first television appearance as the scruffy detective, Columbo, not only becoming the highest paid actor on television – commanding $500,000 an episode during the 1970s – but also the most famous.
Inevitably the lieutenant dedicated to unravelling the villainy of the wealthy and glamorous dominated his career, although – unlike some actors – he escaped the straitjacket, or in his case shabby raincoat, of typecasting. In addition to stage work,...

'Sniper' hits mark for USA
The USA Network original film D.C. Sniper: 23 Days of Fear hit its audience target, reaching 3.6 million total viewers. Friday's premiere of the Charles Dutton starrer was strong enough to outperform the network's usual Friday original series Monk in total viewers and adults 18-49. Its 11 p.m. replay also scored well, drawing 2.2 million viewers. But the TNT movie Wilder Days was a misfire Sunday with its yield of 2.3 million, making it one of the lowest-rated Turner movies of the year.
