It will also display its credentials at next month’s Busan International Film Festival where two of its feature films are selected. Its “24 Hours with Gaspar,” directed by Yosep Anggi Noen, will compete for the Kim Jiseok Award. Meanwhile, the much-anticipated blockbuster “Ali Topan” will make its world premiere at the festival.
Herry Salim, the former Indonesia country manager for Walt Disney, has been appointed group president & CEO of Visinema Studios, the business unit that acquired “Nussa.” Additionally, tech entrepreneur Aldi Haryopratomo has joined the group’s board of commissioners. China has struggled to get viewers back into cinemas this week, but the Shanghai Intl. Film Festival (Siff) has found a way to break through: screen all eight of the “Harry Potter” franchise films in a row, with limited seating due to Covid-19 distancing measures, and watch the public duke it out for the privilege to attend.
They must be doing something right in their selection, however: the festival sold 108,000 tickets in the first ten minutes of online sales. That contrasted with only slow box office in commercial cinemas which resumed operating on Monday.
Siff is set to run July 25 to Aug. 2 with an eclectic selection shown in a mix of screenings with a live audience, outdoor viewings and online streaming.
More than 400 films will screen in 29 designated cinemas, including Jordan Peele’s “Us,” a 4K restoration of “Apocalypse Now,” and “1917,” the only studio film new to Chinese audiences among the various offerings.

Just as we saw yesterday, the end of the month appears to mean a slowdown of fresh content coming to Netflix, with the first few weeks of May bringing with it most of the new arrivals. However, that doesn’t mean the streaming giant will be leaving its subscribers out in the cold and we’ve got a total of 4 new additions to check out today.
Seen down below, there are 3 movies and 1 TV show that’ve made their debut on the platform on May 24th and while it’s hardly the most exciting or meaty line-up of content, we’re just happy to see Netflix continuing to update their library on a daily basis and doing their best to ensure that we stay busy and entertained while in lockdown.
Here’s the full list of what arrived today:

In fact, just yesterday saw a very big release with The Lovebirds – which viewers seem to be digging – and today, the streaming site has 3 new titles for us. All of which you can check out below, and they come in the form of 1 new TV show and 2 new movies.

As the lockdown continues, Netflix provides a reliable source of entertainment, including many titles you might not have considered before. While it’s probably unavoidable that you’ll still spend a lot of time browsing through the platform’s library, Netflix’s weekly collection of new content at least gives us some pointers on what to watch next. To this end, here are some of the highlights of what’s coming to Netflix this week.
On the movie side, the Bryan Cranston-starring biopic Trumbo is available from Tuesday, May 19th. The Jay Roach-directed drama looks at the life of the blacklisted screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, and his struggles against the communist witch-hunt in Hollywood during the 1950s.
