Ella Maisy Purvis doesn’t need to have patience — she is Patience. The neurodivergent English actress has started off 2025 with a bang, thanks to her first-ever starring role in the six-part Eagle Eye Drama police series Patience on U.K. broadcaster Channel 4. And the 21-year-old is ready for more.
But let’s take this one step at a time. In Patience, which is adapted from the French show Astrid et Raphaëlle, Purvis plays Patience Evans, a young autistic woman who works in the criminal records department of the Yorkshire police department, cataloging and filing evidence from major cases. Craving routine and order, she finds solace and structure in her job.
But the self-taught criminologist also has an instinctive eye for crime scenes as Detective Bea Metcalf, played by Laura Fraser (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Doctor Who) discovers, opening a door to a new, exciting, but also scary world for Patience.

Channel 4’s latest thriller drama series, Patience, may seem like a seasonal mystery at first, but halfway into the show, the case gets solved, and from there on, detective Bea Metcalfe and police archivist Patience Evans solve four more cases. That, of course, makes it a procedural—one of those mismatched partners detective shows. The show is, of course, a remake of the popular French show Astrid et Raphaelle, about an autistic archivist solving cases with a police detective. One thing Patience got very much right, though, is the casting of autistic actress Ella Maisy Purvis in the title role. In this article, we’re going to look into each of the cases solved in the first season of Patience.

Keshet Studios, the U.S. scripted arm of Keshet International, has acquired the U.S. remake rights to the French romantic fantasy thriller series “Vortex” from France TV Distribution.
Based on an original concept by Franck Thilliez, “Vortex” centers on a police captain who stumbles upon a time warp while examining a VR crime scene. He realizes that he can communicate with his lost love, just before her death in 1998. Determined to alter her fate and prevent her murder, Ludovic risks everything, including his life with his new family.
The deal, negotiated by Keshet Studios and Michelle Palant, international sales manager at France TV Distribution, marks Keshet Studos’ first remake deal for a French show.
“Within the first few minutes of watching ‘Vortex,’ I knew this had to be Keshet Studios’ first French adaption for the U.S.,” said Heather Brewster, Keshet Studios’ SVP of scripted. “A deeply emotional, inventive,...

In the world of Hollywood, the measure of fame is often used to push/pull several movies to success. With popular actors and actresses who are beloved by the audience, films that would have failed or performed average in viewership, often earn millions of dollars more.
Mille Bobby Brown’s Damsel is a prime example of what we are talking about. With an average rating and Bobby Brown in the lead, the film managed to beat Zack Snyder’s magnum opus Rebel Moon: Part One – A Child of Fire!

Astrid and Lilly faced off against the final monster: The Guardian.
The final battle commenced, but not before an emotional goodbye rocked the girls' grasp on the truth in Astrid & Lilly Save the World Season 1 Episode 10.
Astrid and Lilly got hit with a big slap of betrayal with the Guardian on his way to destroy everything.
In Astrid and Lilly Save the World Season 1 Episode 2, we theorized that Brutus was hiding much of the truth from the girls.
Shortly after that, we dumped that theory because we saw how his relationship evolved with the duo to something akin to family.
Sadly, our original theories were correct: Brutus was hiding something this whole time.
Brutus admitted to stretching the truth with everything while acknowledging that he provided them with the wrong orb.
This betrayal is devasting for the girls and us!
We love Brutus and his relationship with the girls,...

During their Saturday detention, Astrid and Lilly weren't on the best of terms.
Astrid & Lilly Save the World Season 1 Episode 8 saw the girls fight over a few things.
We also wonder how the show will handle the fast-approaching end of the season.
A monster kept appearing in Lilly's dreams (nightmares), which caused her to get no sleep, and the beast subsequently appeared in the school.
Astrid and Lilly usually performed in sync, but their differences got in the way.
One thing that got revealed: Brutus found out that The Guardian's real and in town.
This freaked him out.
For the first time in the series, Astrid and Lilly found themselves captured by the monster with all of their friends (and pseudo-acquaintances).
Luckily, they again prevented deaths, but their friendship got put to the test (and essentially failed).
They left detention on a sour note, with their friendship essentially in ruins.

Talk about getting a big head!
Astrid & Lilly Save the World Season 1 Episode 6 saw Principal Varshidi possessed by a monster that causes people's egos to grow until their head explodes.
The girls were forced to perform an exorcism to get the monster out of its host body, their principal.
Of course, the exorcism wasn't your typical bible and cross exorcism -- it aptly ended up being monster-themed.
Brutus also went through some interesting developments: he has a major organizational problem.
This posed issues not just for him but for Astrid and Lilly's monster hunting abilities.
Lilly got out of control when it came to slow down her classmates' head exploding process.
"Toenail" brought a lot of interesting topics to the forefront, specifically about bullying.
The only way to slow down the ego-boosting curse was to belittle and bully the person "infected."
This brought up an interesting and conflicting dilemma for...
