Content rights specialist BidSlate has closed partnerships with VOD platforms SoFy.tv and Cinezen along with a 78-title package with India’s Kasper Digital, Variety has learned exclusively.

The deals were reached at the 2018 Marché du Film at the Cannes Film Festival. The announcement was made Wednesdsay by Roland Rojas, co-founder and president of BidSlate.

The new global partnerships and deals include Largo Films, based in Switzerland, which has signed a partnership deal for its SoFy.tv. BidSlate will initially supply award-winning shorts to the platform, including “Decay,” “I’m Here Too,” “PagPag,” “Sineater,” “Testimony,” “The Life of Baldrick,” “Used Body Parts,” “I Meant to Tell You,” and “Diversion.”

BidSlate has licensed 78 titles to the Mumbai-based media company Kasper Digital for 15 years, covering the Indian sub-continent territory. Among the feature films are “The Cloth,” “Band of Keepers,” “Brother’s Day,” “Devil’s Six Commandments,” and “Bitter Sweet Monday.”

Danny Trejo is back but hes not riding any suped up motorcycles or blowing away corrupt officials hes walking the religious path in The Cloth. Production has been extremely quiet for this one with very little in the way of promotional goods hitting the net. That could be indicative of the films quality or it could just be a successful attempt at keeping the flick a complete mystery. Either way well be able to judge this one for ourselves very soon.

We're just getting word on this one, but Uncork’d Entertainment and Viva Pictures are releasing the sci-fi (?!) thriller The Cloth starring Danny Trejo and Eric Roberts.

Recently acquired at the Berlin International Film Festival, The Cloth was written and directed by Justin and will be available July 2nd for rental and digital, and available for sale on DVD on August 6th.

Based on Justin Price's book of the same name, The Cloth concerns the celestial influences surrounding the Catholic Church's darkly secret organization specifically formed to combat the alarming rise of demonic possessions across the country.

After the critical debacle that was “The Devil Inside”, you’re right to be skeptical of yet another exorcism movie. However, the trailer for Justin Price’s “The Cloth” definitely has some things working in its favor. Tops on this list is Danny Trejo as an exorcising priest. What’s not to love about that? I’ll watch anything he’s in, a strategy that’s led to me watching some dogs, but if he’s on board, so am I. American horror feature Rage – Midsummer’s Eve set in the Arctic Circle has signed an international Sales Agency deal. The film will be introduced to distribution companies for the first time in the European Film Market (Efm) during Berlin’s International Film Festival, starting today in Germany.

Danny Trejo is the stuff. And while I’m drawn more to his action-oriented endeavors, I won’t pass up an opportunity to watch the busy actor portray a priest in horror flick. Writer/director and actor Justin Price's new thriller 'The Cloth' is expected to finish up post-production real soon and will likely be seeking a 2012 release date. Nice. For now we'll just have to make do with a a teaser trailer from the production about a secret organization within the Catholic Church that attempt to counter increasing demonic possessions. The Catholic Church is continuing to fight the good fight as the Devil's general, Kasdeya, descends to Earth. Possessions increase and the poster for The Cloth reminds horror fans that demons do not need heads to deliver evil. The film has recently signed multiple distribution deals, so The Cloth is likely to release in 2012. Currently, the film is in post-production and the film is expected to complete soon. There's a new exorcism movie afoot. And after The Devil Inside I'd say The Cloth has nowhere to go but up! It's certainly got a better cast!
