Rana Naidu is a Netflix series directed by Karan Anshuman and Suparn Verma starring Venkatesh Daggubati and Rana Daggubati.
Rana Naidu is a fun action, comedy and drama series… very colourful, entertaining, and, above all, vibrant and lively, very much in the Bollywood style that we love so much.
Ten episodes for you to enjoy this attractive cocktail which nothing is missing from to create pure entertainment… Bollywood style.
About the Series
A very well-curated thriller on the aesthetic, photographic and editing level. It is quite far removed from the recent crop of Indian series that the streaming network has offered us: greater quality in the choice of shots, plot, and, most of all, at the level of editing and sound effects.

Eternally Confused & Eager For Love(Netflix, 8 Episodes)
Starring Vihaan Samat, Ankur Rathi, Rahul Bose, Suchitra Pillai
Written & Directed by Rahul Nair
After a long while, here is something to make you smile and chuckle. Eternally Confused & Eager For Love is an awkward title for what is customarily called the coming-of-age saga. But when you see how socially awkward our 20-something protagonist is, and how often he ends up putting his foot in his mouth, you would realize the importance of a title as gauche as Ray, played with a liberating transparency by Vihaan Samat, who has done some negligible parts in the past.
Eternally Confused and what-not is Samat’s actual beginning as an actor. He is a natural born choice to play the muddled boy-child with parents , played with lip smacking relish by Suchitra Krishnamoorthy and Rahul Bose , who are refreshingly non-interfering, although they do want him to at least shed his virginity.

ReviewThe screenplay in the first half is intriguing, with the viewers grappling with the case as much as the lead characters, but the plot becomes less and less convincing as the film progresses.Sowmya RajendranThere's a lot to like in Cold Case directed by debut filmmaker Tanu Balak. It's a police procedural and a supernatural thriller at the same time, with two characters independently arriving at the same questions and answers that lead to solving a puzzle. On paper, this presents a delicious mind game for the audience too (I was reminded in parts of the Tamil thriller Eeram). A skull wrapped in a trash bag that emerges in a fisherman's net is the starting point of the mystery. Forensic analysis says that the murder was committed a year ago, but the police have no idea who the victim is. They first have to figure that out before they can identify the killer.

“Betaal” – original Netflix mini-series influenced by local legends and myths, but also by the forgotten god of dread described in Somdev Bhatt’s storybooks from 11th century, is the first proper Indian attempt at the zombie genre. Spiked with social criticism, the show offers more than just snapping jaws of the undead, who happen to be the former British colonialists.
The Volunteers battalion that served under the command of lieutenant colonel John Lynedoch during the Independence War of 1857 is trapped in a mountain passage built a long time ago by the English, and the flesh-thirsty men are held under control by rituals performed by local villagers, under the guidance of their sorceress. In the very opening scene, people are seen praying to lord Betaal to keep his slumber, and their peace intact.

Cinema The film is about two sex workers who come together to run a co-operative and eliminate the middlemen. Tnm StaffWriter and filmmaker Aditya Kripalani, who recently turned his third international bestseller, Tikli and Laxmi Bomb into a film of the same title has another feather in his cap. The film has won Best Feature in the 10th edition of the Berlin Independent Film Festival on Sunday. Featuring Vibhawari Deshpande, Chitrangada Chakraborty, Suchitra Pillai, Upendra Limaye and Saharsh Kumar Shukla, the film will be screened in the UK Asian Film Festival at London’s oldest cinema house. Last year A Death in the Gunj and Lipstick Under My Burkha were selected from India. The book and film trace the unusual story of two sex workers who come together to run a co-operative and eliminate the middlemen in sex work. In an interview to Tnm, Aditya revealed that he had always wanted to make an anti-patriarchy film with the theme of ‘Sisterhood above all’, and this is what led him to pick an entirely woman-oriented subject. An alumnus of the prestigious Ftii in Pune, Aditya said that the idea for Tikli and Laxmi Bomb originated in 2003, after watching Thelma and Louise in college. “(I) have wondered ever since why we aren't making a film with that wild a spirit, with that acerbic a telling, in India,” he said. On the research on sex work that went into writing the story, Aditya said, “I spent a lot of time talking to sex workers around the Sv road area (Mumbai). This would only work practically if I paid them for the sex and had a chat instead. As they're at work and making their living for the night, money is of primary importance and not some pesky guy's questions.” “A lot of them also opened up after the second or third time. And spoke of their lives, what drove them, urges, feelings, they shared their laughter. The most beautiful thing was that on their own, they're not 'martyrs' or sad at all. They're about as happy as women working in advertising or banking. It's just that they've seen patriarchy in its worst colours and so are wiser for it, in terms of how to deal with it,” he added Just like the research done on the book, the film too has been shot in real locations in Mumbai in tough conditions. Apart from Tikli and Laxmi Bomb, the filmmaker has also written two other books, Frontseat and Backseat which went on to become international bestsellers as well.

Directed by Suhnil Sippy
Honestly, the conscience has become a huge liability in these times. As a journalist with a good three decades of experience I still have problem deciding where to draw the line between professionalism and ethics.
Though I couldn’t relate to her endless boozing and snoozing, Noor Roy Choudhary as played by Sonakshi Sinha , is someone I’ve known in passing. And that’s I would keep her if I met her. At a safe distance.
Noor is not one of the best films on journalistic ethics. It doesn’t do to the contemporary Mumbai media world what the Paul Newman-Sally Field starrer Absence Of Malice did 30 years ago. It pricks at the conscience in a rather undemanding way. Noor takes sly and slender satirical swipes at sensationalism in journalism, more...

While it may not necessarily be a contender for “Best Horror Film of 2016”, The Other Side of the Door is still a solid supernatural thriller that showcases its Indian backdrop marvelously, features a strong performance from The Walking Dead alum Sarah Wayne Callies, and does an admirable job of trying to bring something new to a very familiar premise.
At the start of The Other Side of the Door, we meet Maria (Callies) and Michael (Jeremy Sisto), who have been transplanted from the States to India as part of Michael’s job as an antiques dealer. Once Maria reveals she’s expecting their first child, the couple decides to officially make Mumbai their home and raise their family abroad. Flash forward several years and we meet the now established husband and wife, who are only but a shell of their former selves. The reason? Some months earlier, a tragic car...

This supernatural tale about a grieving mother mixes high-tension moments with patient characterisation to form a clever, capable chiller
Shades of Don’t Look Now and the Orpheus myth in this not-half-bad supernatural chiller from British co-writer and director Johannes Roberts, who gave us F, a horror-thriller about a schoolteacher under threat; he also directed Noel Clarke’s script for Storage 24. The Other Side of the Door is about Maria (Sarah Wayne Callies) and Michael (Jeremy Sisto), a married American couple in Mumbai. When one of their children is killed in a car accident they are devastated, but their sorrowing housekeeper, Piki (Suchitra Pillai), tells the mother there is a way for her to get closure: if she goes to a certain ruined temple on a certain moonlit night, she will be able to talk with her son’s ghost through the locked door before he vanishes for ever into the next world.

There have been many movies which deal with bringing the dead back to life, but The Other Side Of The Door manages to add a mystical element to the subject.
The film follows an American family who live a wonderful life in Mumbai, India until their youngest son is killed in a tragic accident. While Michael (Jeremy Sisto) and their daughter Lucy (Sofia Rosinsky) have moved on, Maria (Sarah Wayne Callies) is still in a deep state of grief she cannot hide from anyone.
This leads her housekeeper, Piki (Suchitra Pillai-Malik), to inform Maria of an ancient ritual that will allow her to say one last goodbye to her son, and it involves going to an ancient temple where a door serves as a portal between the living and the dead. When Maria disobeys Piki’s warning about never ever opening the door, however, the balance between life and death...

Dammit Johannes Roberts, why did you have to disappoint so? I absolutely Adore his 2010 film F (aka The Expelled) and – even though its a Noel Clarke film - Storage 24 wasn’t that bad either. So hearing that Roberts had the chance to helm a studio movie, a horror at that, set in India with its vast religious culture and strange chaotic lifestyle, And produced by Alexandre Aja… It’s safe to say I was excited for The Other Side of the Door. Even more so after Sarah Wayne Callies was cast in the lead – I’m a huge fan of hers, ever since the Prison Break days. So what went wrong?

Viveck Vaswani is unperturbed that Shah Rukh Khan's shoulder surgery would result in change of release plans for his much awaited Dulha Mil Gaya. While he is (obviously) concerned about the well being of his star-of-the-show, he is making a brisk progress on the post production of the film which has already seen 95% of the principal shoot being through. "As I talk to you, there are four different departments busy on the post production of the film", says Viveck who isn't worrying much about waiting for a few additional weeks before Shah Rukh Khan reports for the film's shoot, "Everything except for a 'qawalli' remains to be shot and I can wait for it till Shah Rukh completely gets well. Apparently, an ever-so-energetic Shah Rukh hinted upon resuming the shoot soon after the injury that worsened on the sets of Dulha Mil Gaya but Viveck didn't want any further harm to his body.
