Italian sales company The Open Reel has unveiled three new additions to its Cannes Marché slate, including Isabel Coixet’s latest film The Yellow Ceiling.

After Florbela (2012) and Al Berto (2017), in which Alves do Ó depicted the lives of two Portuguese poets – Florbela Espanca and Al Berto – the director is once again preparing to portray yet another important figure in the Portuguese artistic and cultural scene. Amadeo de Souza Cardoso was born in 1887, in Manhufe. He lived and worked in Paris for most of his life, returning to Portugal at the beginning of World War I. The Open Reel sells film to Tla Releasing for key territories.

With the 2018 Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival now underway in the Estonian capital, Official Selection title Sunburn has scored key territory deals.

Torino-based sales agent The Open Reel has sold the film to Philadeliphia-based Tla Releasing for North America, UK and Ireland, France and French-speaking Territories.

Sunburn has its world premiere in Tallinn on Thursday, November 29.

11 titles added to competition strand.

Estonia’s Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (Nov 11- 27) has announced the complete line-up for its competition strand, adding eleven titles to the previously announced eight.

Films having their world premiere at Tallinn include the Greek-French-Latvian co-production Still River by director Angelos Frantzis; Sunburn, a Portuguese production by director Vicente Alves do Ó, which was presented at the Locarno Iff’s First Look showcase this summer; and Indian-born filmmaker Partho Sen-Gupta’s third film Slam. His last films Let The Wind Blow and Sunrise have screened at the Berlinale, the Busan Iff, Tribeca and London.

The 17th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (Iffk) has announced its lineup. The festival will run from 7th to 14th December, 2012 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

Some of the highlights of the lineup are festival favourites of the year Amour, Chitrangada, Samhita, The Sapphires, Drapchi, Miss Lovely, Me and You, Celluloid Man, and Baandhon.

Fourteen films will screen in the Competition section while seven contemporary films will be screened in “Indian Cinema Now” section.
