Siuntio (Finland), June 30 (Ians) A week after winning her second Ladies European Tour title, it was not the best of starts for India’s Diksha Dagar even as her fellow Indians had decent starts at the Ladies Open by Pickala Rock Resort, here. It was a day hindered by not one, but two storm delays and it took a toll on many of the players.

Diksha, who had 13 birdies and an eagle last week had no birdies in her round of 74 and will need a solid second round to make the cut.

Among other Indians, Pranavi Urs playing on a sponsor’s exemption shot even par 72 and was T-55 as was Vani Kapoor. Amandeep Drall and Ridhima Dilawari (73) were T-78th while Tvesa Malik and Diksha with 74 each were T-90. But with the scoreboard rather tight, a good round could see the Indians make the cut.

Pranavi and Vani were the best Indians.

Brandenburg (Germany), June 16 (Ians) Indian amateur Avani Prashanth fired a major warning shot with an albatross in a round of 7-under 65 that placed her second after the first round at the Amundi German Masters.

Playing on a sponsor’s exemption for the second year in a row, Avani had an albatross, her first in a tournament and second in her life on Thursday. Avani, whose first albatross came as an eight-year-old in a practice round in Bangalore in 2015, had six birdies, an albatross against two bogeys.

The leader was England’s Olivia Mehaffey who fired a great round of 64 to hold a one-stroke lead.

Among the other Indians, Diksha Dagar (69), who has been playing well in recent weeks, was tied for sixth. She had five birdies against two bogeys

When the round ended, Vani Kapoor (73) was T-45th, Ridhima Dilawari (75) was T-70 and Amandeep Drall (77) was Tied- 105th.

Norway has been making movies for quite a long time, but the horror genre seems to be something relatively new to the nation. Despite the 1958 whodunnit slasher Lake Of Dead, very few fright flicks have been made in Norway. Still the country does still manage to produce some quality scares from time to time, most noticeably the recent 2009 hits Dead Snow (featuring zombie Nazis) and Hidden which was featured as part of the After Dark Horrorfest. Well now it seems you can add Dark Souls to the list of Norwegian Horror. The film will be making it’s premiere at the Brussel International Fantastic Film Festival in April, and will laster screen at Cannes in May. You can’t help but think that Abel Ferrar’s 1979 slasher / video nasty The Driller Killer was an inspiration for this film.

Back in August of last year, I posted a nasty little trailer for Mathieu Peteul & César Ducasse’s genre flick “Dark Souls”, a film that looked extremely promising and downright nasty. I really dig Norwegian horror films — you can blame “Cold Prey” all you want for this — and this particular endeavor appears to be just as eerie, atmospheric, and shamelessly gory as its contemporaries.
