In a world where accusations of sexism are tossed around like a football at half-time, it’s women like Fossett, characters who aren’t just defined by their relationship to men but by their own solid sense of justice, that flip the script.

Paramount+’s 1923 season two episode five finds Alexandra enduring yet another devastating event in her journey to reunite with Spencer. Hundreds of war movies exist, designed to thrill audiences, sometimes at the behest of the summer movie season -- we're looking at you "Pearl Harbor." Too often, Hollywood neglects to tell the whole story, resulting in cookie-cutter pictures like John Wayne's "The Green Berets" or generic action extravaganzas like John Woo's "Windtalkers." Sure, they may contain state-of-the-art special effects, A-list stars, and rousing battle scenes, but they too often rely on genre cliches or wrap their historical backdrops around sappy romantic subplots.

What's missing? Well, all great war movies contain a pivotal ingredient: realism. Far too many pictures nix this key element and wind up as shallow cash grabs that exploit history for their own benefit. Luckily, plenty of directors also went to great lengths to achieve optimal realism, ensuring audiences walked away from their pictures with a greater understanding of the strength and sacrifices of those who died on the battlefield.

First-person shooter (Fps) video games are a dime-a-dozen. Even today, "Call of Duty" dominates mainstream multiplayer gaming, while titles of a similar vein — à la "Apex Legends" or "Valorant" — help shape the genre's ever-evolving nature. However, the Fps genre hallmarks that are taken for granted today were painstakingly shaped by groundbreaking titles that consciously pushed the limits of a shoot-to-kill premise. Some endeavors, like the original "Doom," are still remembered with the nostalgic reverence it deserves (having even inspired an objectively terrible movie adaptation starring Dwayne Johnson). But others, like Steven Spielberg and Electronic Arts' (EA) "Medal of Honor" series, have sadly been relegated to the realm of forgotten Fps games that are no longer relevant.

The Battlefield franchise has recently presented EA with its fair share of difficulties. Every major Bf game released in the past ten or so years, with the exception of Battlefield 1, seems to have had its share of problems. No entry has made this more evident than Battlefield 2042 in 2021, which undoubtedly contributed to the alienation of the majority of the fan base and caused them to lose sight of the series’ former glory.

Similar way, EA has also fallen short of Actvision’s Call of Duty, which was once considered to be a mouth-watering battle. And with the cancelation of several Bf titles along with Bf 2042‘s utter failure, that battle doesn’t seem to be reviving itself. That is why EA needs to bring back its another franchise which has the potential to go toe-to-toe against Call of Duty.

Danny Cannon has racked up a lot of directing credits over the last 35 years, including credits on episodes of CSI, CSI: Miami, Dark Blue, Nikita, Shameless, Gotham, Pennyworth, and Gotham Knights, among others – but he’s best known for making a couple of feature films back in the 1990s: the poorly received Sylvester Stallone comic book adaptation Judge Dredd and the slasher sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (which is indeed canon to the new I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel that’s being made). Exclusive: British filmmaker Danny Cannon (I Still Know What You Did Last Summer) has signed on to direct Obey.

The film is described as a high-concept horror thriller. Altitude will be shopping the film at the upcoming European Film Market.

The film follows a couple struggling to save their marriage who must learn to put their differences aside if they are to save their son from a deranged home invader, Flip Face.

The official synopsis reads: To Love, Honour, and Obey was the intention of Mark and Caitlin when they stood in front of their family and friends on their wedding day. Years later, comfortable familiarity has deteriorated into contempt and the couple has decided to divorce.

Mark leaves. A new life apart – Mother and son, Tanner, now alone at home. But when Caitlin goes to check on Tanner, she finds he’s gone. Nowhere to be found.

Caitlin believes her husband is behind this.

Heartbreak Ridge, Clint Eastwood's 1986 war film, will soon have a free streaming home. The film arrives on Tubi at the start of 2025.

Heartbreak Ridge was directed and produced by Eastwood, who also starred in the film as Gunnery Sergeant Tom Highway. The story finds Eastwood's character, a decorated U.S. Marine who is nearing retirement, as he deals with a platoon of unruly young Marines and leads them during America's invasion of Grenada in 1983. And that faith would be translated in Hacksaw Ridge. There was the faith of its central figure, Desmond Doss; that which the producers and studio put into Gibson; and that which Gibson himself had in the project, which would tell of a conscientious objector during World War II. A gamble? Absolutely. A success? Unprecedented. So pick up that weapon, soldier – or, better yet, be at ease – as we find out: What Happened to This Movie?!

Hacksaw Ridge centers around the real-life figure of Desmond Doss, who served as a medic during World War II and became famous for his refusal to carry a weapon. Even still, he is credited with saving 75 lives while in action.

Andrew Garfield has over 30 acting credits, with roles in TV series, big blockbusters, and indie movies. With two Oscar nominations for 2016's Hacksaw Ridge and 2021's tick, tick... Boom!, the actor pointed out the project people bring up most is Spider-Man.

Garfield joined the superhero world in 2012 with The Amazing Spider-Man, where he played the titular character. He reprised his role in 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and was supposed to have another installment to wrap up the trilogy following the mixed reviews and poor theatrical performance. Although the actor reprised his role in 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, alongside current Spider-Man Tom Holland and the original Peter Parker, Tobey Maguire, while speaking at the Marrakech Film Festival, Garfield revealed he is working on getting people to have fewer questions about Spider-Man, per Variety.
