What Do We Know About the upcoming Reacher spin-off series centered on Frances Neagley? More than you may think. The Jack Reacher series starring Alan Ritchson has been a huge hit for Prime Video, and the spin-off has been in development for quite some time. From plot, casting news, and more, let’s dive in and look at what is coming up in the new addition to the Reacher franchise.

Who is Frances Neagley?

A key ally of Jack Reacher, Frances Neagley has been a recurring character in one Lee Child novel, Bad Luck and Trouble, the eleventh in the series, in 2007. Neagley was included in the first season of Reacher, based on the first novel, Killing Floor, which surprised many fans. Maria Sten’s performance became an instant hit with fans, which has resulted in her inclusion in all three seasons of Reacher to date, along with her own spin-off.

The first images from Mortal Kombat 2, debuted by EW, reveal “The Boys” star Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, a fan-favorite character from the video game franchise.

The photos also show Adeline Rudolph (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”) as Kitana, Hiroyuki Sanada returning as Scorpion, and bodybuilder Martyn Ford (“The Sandman”) as antagonist Shao Kahn.

“You finally get to see Johnny Cage,” Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon tells EW. “His integration into the Mortal Kombat story and universe is a big part of what this movie explores. He’s a washed-up Hollywood guy thrown into this magical, ultra-violent thing.

“Karl, his depiction of Johnny Cage is different than our games in some ways. He’s adding his own flare to it, but I think it’ll feel fresh. There’s like a novelty factor in there.”

“Industry” is continuing to build out its cast for Season 4.

Variety has learned that Kiernan Shipka, Jack Farthing, Toheeb Jimoh, and Amy James-Kelly (“Three Families”) have all joined the upcoming fourth season of the HBO & BBC drama series.

They will appear alongside previously announced new cast member Max Minghella as well as returning cast Myha’la, Marisa Abela, Ken Leung, Sagar Radia, Kit Harington, and Miriam Petche.

Shipka will play Hayley Clay, described as an “executive assistant at payment processor Tender.” Farthing will play Edward Smith, said to be a “troublemaker and long-time friend of Henry’s (Harington).” Jimoh will appear as Kwabena Bannerman, a “trader at Mostyn Asset Management.” And James-Kelly will play Jennifer Bevan, a “newly promoted Minister in the Labour government.”

Shipka is repped by WME and Anonymous Content. Farthing is repped by Independent Talent Group and Anonymous Content. Jimoh is represented by B-Side, WME, Tapestry London, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

Warner Bros. Television has promoted veteran executive Clancy Collins White to the newly created position of president of creative affairs.

In the role, Collins White will continue to oversee scripted programming development for Wbtv while also adding oversight of casting and research. She reports to Channing Dungey, chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Television Group and Wbd US Networks.

Alan Ritchson became a household name and the face of a rip-roaring franchise when he began portraying the silent-and-lethal titular character in the 2022 action crime sensation Reacher, an adaptation of the popular Lee Child novels that focuses on the perpetually wandering former U.S. Army military policeman as trouble seems to follow him everywhere he goes. The self-proclaimed hobo becomes caught up in one dangerous conspiracy after the next, defending the innocent and using his brute strength and extensive knowledge to take down one nefarious foe after the next.

Pantoliano will play Eugene, a minor character from video game The Last of Us Part II that’s being expanded for the series, which is an understatement in that Eugene is never glimpsed beyond a photograph in the game. “I get excited when I see these opportunities,” said Neil Druckmann, who is also the creative director of Part II. “I’m like, ‘Oh, I don’t know Eugene that well!’ The story we told [in the game] was somewhat superficial.

Reacher season 3 will be reaching the Prime Video streaming service very soon, with the first three episodes of the new season dropping on February 20th and the remaining episodes airing every Thursday until March 27th. With that three episode premiere date right around the corner, a trailer for Reacher season 3 has made its way online. However, late last year, a Frances Neagley-focused series was officially ordered at Amazon. The show, officially titled Neagley, will star Maria Sten as the titular character.

The series has started production and Variety reports that five new names have been added to the cast as regulars. The actors cast on the show are Greyston Holt as Detective Hudson Riley; Jasper Jones (King Ivory) as Keno; Adeline Rudolph as Renee; Matthew Del Negro as Pierce Woodrow; and Damon Herriman as Lawrence Cole.

It's official: the Reacher spinoff centered around Maria Sten's Frances Neagley will officially be titled Neagley. Sten's co-stars have also been revealed.

Gossip Girl icon Leighton Meester has taken on comedy once more in the one-hour CW series Good Cop/Bad Cop, which premiered on Wednesday, February 19. Although the show is more of a police drama, viewers are sure to get some laughs out of it. Production on the Los Angeles-set story is scheduled to commence later this year in Los Angeles and Thailand.

Mortal Kombat director Simon McQuoid is back at the helm for the sequel Mortal Kombat 2, and while the video game adaptation wrapped production back in January of 2024 after a bumpy ride through the year of the strikes, they had to go back for some reshoots last summer. So we still don’t know when this movie is going to be released – but it is starting to take some steps forward. Back in November, we learned that Mortal Kombat 2 has been rated R for strong bloody violence and gore, and language. Now, a logo for the film has been unveiled, along with a poster featuring the character of actor Johnny Cage, played by Karl Urban. You can check those images out at the bottom of this article.

The screenplay for Mortal Kombat 2 has been written by Jeremy Slater, who was the lead writer on the Marvel / Disney+ series Moon Knight.

Becoming a K-pop star may seem like a glamorous dream, but in the upcoming psychological thriller Perfect Girl, it turns into a nightmare as a group of aspiring K-pop artists are targeted and attacked one by one. Starring talented actresses Arden Cho and Adeline Rudolph, this new film is one we can’t wait to see. Here’s everything we know about it so far.

Originally titled Unnie, Perfect Girl is backed by the independent genre label Badlands. The thriller is set to be directed by Hong Won-ki from a screenplay written by Lynn Q. Yu. In addition, Sunshine and Moonshine will be crafting the soundtrack. Sunshine is behind many hits from the popular K-pop boy group BTS, while Moonshine has produced songs for K-pop girl groups such as Red Velvet, Twice, etc.

Rolling off her lead role in “Mortel Kombat 2,” Adeline Rudolph will star opposite Arden Cho in “Perfect Girl,” an elevated psychological thriller set in the competitive world of K-pop.

The trailer for Good Cop/Bad Cop previews Leighton Meester's return to The CW in a police show that features a cameo from Adam Brody. Meester is well-known for her fan-favorite role as Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl, one of the CW's cornerstone series. The actor is returning to the network with Good Cop/Bad Cop, which follows a sibling detective duo in a small Pacific Northwest police force who work under the police chief who is also their father. The procedural is written and executive produced by John Quaintance.

During their Consumer Electronics Show (CES) presentation last night, Naughty Dog head Neil Druckmann officially announced that The Last of Us season two will debut this coming April, exclusively on HBO and streaming on Max.

The second season will consist of seven episodes, and while we don't have an exact premiere date just yet, we'd imagine the series returns sometime in mid-April, in the same release window Game of Thrones used to occupy during its run.

Season two will pick up five years after the events of season one, which concluded with Joel (Pedro Pascal) going on a rampage to rescue an unconcious Ellie (Belly Ramsey) from the Fireflies and then, in an effort to protect her, covering up the truth by telling her that making a cure was impossible and that raiders had raided the facility and forced them to flee.

It’s going to be a hell of a spring for Joel and Ellie: The Last of Us will return for its second season in April, co-creator Neil Druckmann announced Monday during Sony’s press conference at the Consumer Electronics Show.

Fans also got a meaty sneak peek at Season 2 of HBO’s post-apocalyptic drama via a minute-long teaser that’s sure to raise a few… alarms. (Don’t worry, you’ll get it when you watch it.)

Per the official synopsis, Season 2 will begin with a time jump: “Five years after the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.”

The previous Season 2 teaser was released back on Sept. 26, which is both the birthday of Joel (played by Pedro Pascal) and the day that the Cordyceps infection really started messing with/nearly wiping out humanity.

HBO also recently released three images created by artist Greg Ruth in celebration of the show’s seminal date. You can see them below.

In August, HBO released the first footage from the show’s sophomore run via a Max promo. In it, Joel made an expected confession — to an unexpected character: Season 2 newbie Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek). She presumably wondered about Ellie, asking Joel, “Did you hurt her?” His response: “I saved her.” Fans of the franchise will recognize this as a deviation from the original story. In the video game, Joel delivers his confession to his brother Tommy (and only Tommy).

The new teaser seems to indicate more changes from the Naughty Dog video game’s storyline, including our first good look at Kaitlyn Dever (Dopesick) as Abby. We’re also intrigued by what’s going on around the :45 mark; those who know The Last of Us Part II inside and out will recognize this scene as something that is shown at the very end of that game. Given that series creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann have indicated that the show will likely go at least three seasons, it’s interesting that the moment is included in Season 2.

Also of note: Isaac (Westworld’s Jeffrey Wright) and a captured Seraphite, some longing looks between Ellie and Dina (100 Things to Do Before High School’s Isabella Merced), and the music at the start of the clip, which is from a series of poignant moments in Part II.

Season 1 came to an end after Joel murdered a hospital full of Firefly resistance fighters who intended to kill Ellie in order to figure out a cure for Cordyceps infection. When Ellie — who’d been anesthetized and therefore unaware of both Joel’s actions and the danger to her — came to, Joel lied and said the experiment hadn’t worked. Later, when she made him swear that he was telling the truth, he did so readily… even though he was doubling down on the lie. (Read a recap.)

In addition to Dever, Wright, Merced and O’Hara, Season 2 cast newbies include: Young Mazino (Beef), Danny Ramirez (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Ariela Barer (Runaways), Tati Gabrielle (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) and Spencer Lord (Heartland).

Constantine was released in 2005 to mixed reviews, and while it's unclear if the sequel will ever happen, there are plenty of reasons to be excited about it. The Constantine sequel was announced to be in the works in 2022, but it remains to be seen whether the project will move forward. With DC currently focusing on establishing a new cinematic universe overseen by James Gunn, projects like Constantine 2 would only work as Elseworlds stories.

Constantine may be one of the darkest fantasy movies of all time, incorporating horror elements well-suited to director Francis Lawrence. This movie only has 46% on Rotten Tomatoes, despite being one of the most engaging, well-conceived, and original action and horror flicks of the 2000s. Based on the DC Comics character, the movie took a lot of creative liberties but delivered a highly entertaining mix of stylized violence and character-driven drama.

Back in March, we heard that production had wrapped on the Stephen King adaptation The Monkey, which is coming our way from the team of producer / genre regular James Wan and director Osgood Perkins, whose credits include The Blackcoat’s Daughter (a.k.a. February), I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, Gretel & Hansel, and the recent Nicolas Cage horror film Longlegs (you can read our review Here). Longlegs was released by Neon – and they’ll also be giving The Monkey a theatrical release on February 21, 2025. And now, as a spooky Christmas treat, Neon has put out a new clip guaranteed to send some shivers down your spine.

A little while ago Entertainment Weekly unveiled a batch of images from the film (plus a behind-the-scenes image), and those can be seen at the bottom of this article.

Matlock star Skye P. Marshall teases the show's most pivotal episode, offering a season 2 hint. Known for her past roles in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and the CW superhero series Black Lightning, Marshall plays Olympia Lawrence in the Matlock reboot cast. So far in the CBS legal dramedy, Olympia has gradually gotten closer to Matty Matlock (Kathy Bates). But she doesn't know the big secret that Matty is hiding.

In recent comments to TVLine, Marshall teases that the “craziest” episode of the season will be episode 17, which is the penultimate episode. In the quote below, the actor talks about how the episode sets up season 2 and will leave the viewers questioning how the show will follow-up such a major development. Marshall's quote is below:

A24 delivered the “disaster comedy of the millennium” when their film Y2K (you can read our review at This Link) reached theatres on December 6th – but not a lot of movie-goers turned out to see it. The movie has only made $4 million at the domestic box office.
