"If we don't stand up, no one will." Who's ready for another slice of Batman? Warner Bros has dropped a new trailer for Matt Reeves' The Batman dubbed "The Bat and The Cat" about the Batman vs Catwoman feud in the movie. We've already featured numerous trailers, including the full trailer and an extra Japanese trailer with more footage. In his second year of fighting crime, Batman uncovers corruption in Gotham City that connects to his own family while facing a serial killer known as the Riddler. The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the "Caped Crusader", with Andy Serkis as Alfred, Zoe Kravitz as "Catwoman", Jeffrey Wright as Gordon, plus Colin Farrell as Cobblepot, Paul Dano as Nashton, John Turturro as Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard. I'm loving the focus in this particular trailer on these two superheroes - there's an entire movie about just them to watch. And then there's all those villains!

Starz released a trailer for its new wrestling drama “Heels,” which will premiere on Aug. 15 at 9 p.m.

Set in a close-knit community in Georgia, “Heels” follows the people of a small town who chase their dreams in the world of independent professional wrestling. It centers on a family-owned wrestling promotion as two brothers and rivals war over their late father’s legacy. In the ring, one must play the good guy and the other their nemesis, otherwise known as “the heel.” In the real world, these characters prove difficult to live up to — or hard to leave behind.

Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig portray the set of siblings, older brother Jack Spade and younger brother Ace Spade, respectively. The cast also includes Alison Liff, Mary McCormack, Kelli Berglund, Allen Maldonado, James Harrison and Chris Bauer.

Bob Hope’s brand of comedy may have been extinct by the sixties but it was alive and kicking in the pages of God Save the Mark, Donald E. Westlake’s comic crime novel about a schnook on the run for a murder he didn’t commit. Published in 1967, Westlake’s farce resembles one of Hope’s own movies; the pace is frenetic and the patter is as snappy as the comedian’s in his prime—a golden age exemplified by his one-two punch from 1939 and 1940, The Cat and the Canary and The Ghost Breakers. Those films present Hope in excelsis but in the hands of directors Elliott Nugent and George Marshall they serve as master classes in the tricky art of the scare comedy.

The upcoming season of Star Trek: Discovery will feature a new feline addition: Grudge the Cat.

“The upcoming season of Star Trek: Discovery is going to be the best one ever. We know this, for a fact, because it’ll be the first with Grudge the cat. Grudge, played by a floofy feline named Leeu (which means “lion” in Afrikaans), was introduced Tuesday as part of the big Star Trek Day event. He’s the best friend of the mysterious new character Book, played by David Ajala.”

Annie Cordy, a Belgian actress and singer who starred in a number of titles including Le Chat and Cigarettes, Whiskey and Wild Women, has died. She was 92.

Cordy, who was also known for lending her voice to Grandmother Willow in the French version of Disney’s 1995 animated classic Pocahontas, died Friday in France. Disney France confirmed the Cordy’s passing on Twitter, writing that that actress brought her wisdom and unique voice to the cartoon character.

Born Léonie Cooreman in 1928, Cordy started her acting career in Sacha Guitry’s 1954 Royal Affairs in Versailles, where she played Madame Langlois. Cordy went on to star in a number of titles throughout the 1950s including Hello Smile!, Le Chanteur de Mexico and Cigarettes, Whiskey and Wild Women.

In a competitive situation, Ucp, a division of NBCUniversal Content Studios, and Nick Antosca have won the rights to Jan Broberg’s true-crime stranger-than-fiction story, for development as a limited series.

The untitled Jan Broberg project follows the bizarre true story of the Broberg family, whose daughter Jan was kidnapped multiple times over a period of years by a charismatic, obsessed family “friend.” The Brobergs —devoted to their faith, family, and community — were utterly unprepared for the sophisticated tactics their neighbor used to exploit their vulnerabilities, drive them apart, and turn their daughter against them. The series is the story of how their lives were permanently altered — and how they survived.

Antosca, under his production banner Eat the Cat, will write and executive produce via his overall deal with Ucp. Jan Broberg and her mother, Mary Ann Broberg, will serve as producers. Eat the Cat’s Alex Hedlund will co-executive produce.

Cat person or not, there’s something we can all agree on: Universal Pictures’ live-action (or is it more CGI?) adaptation Cats was definitely… not what we wanted to see. Warner Bros. new The Batman movie has found its Selina Kyle aka Catwoman in Big Little Lies star Zoe Kravitz. Her deal is official. The film directed by Matt Reeves comes out on June 25, 2021.

Kravitz joins Robert Pattinson who has the title role, Jeffrey Wright who is playing Commissioner Gordon and Jonah Hill who is in talks for a villain role.
