When McVicar escapes, he is running up the street and he passes the same two-tone Bedford van twice.

When McVicar is running away from the prison, he's wearing the prison issued shoes and their loud soles can be heard. As the music starts and he's running down the street he's back in his Adidas trainers.

With the exception of the prison convoy, all vehicles in the opening sequence have Irish (Eire) number plates, rather than British.

At the end of the film it says that McVicar was arrested in 1970, this means that the action before is before his arrest,(obviously), but throughout the film in the street scenes there are cars from from a later date, most notable in a scene were the e-type jag turns right it is behind what appears to be a mark IV Cortina,(late seventies model)
