It was only a week or so ago that I finished watching Season 1 of Ozark on Netflix, it was something I stumbled upon while browsing the streaming service one evening and gave it a shot. I am so glad I did and then binge watched all 10 episodes within a week. (That’s binging for me)
As soon as I had finished I wanted to know about Season 2, when is it due to hit and are they even making it, and then I found out that Season 1 had only just been released in July. It could take ages for them to decide on a Season 2, so I spread the word to everyone I could, more people watching means more chance of getting another season we assume, although Netflix never release their viewer numbers for shows.

With a filmmaking career extending to 35 years, the Romanian-born, Israeli-raised director Shimon Dotan (Repeat Dive, The Finest Hour, You Can Thank Me Later) will bow his latest film in U.S. theaters next month. The Settlers present audiences with the harsh reality that Jewish people who live along the West Bank face today. After earning acclaim following its Sundance Film Festival debut and appearance at New York Film Festival, the U.S. trailer has now arrived.
“Partisans on both sides of the conflict will find plenty to argue with, as would be the case with almost any movie on this topic,” Variety‘s Ben Kenigsberg writes. “The real achievement here is in going beyond the buzzwords of newscasts and talking points to convey a sense of what’s happening on the ground — and to give it a sense of urgency.”
Check out the trailer below and return for our review ahead of the theatrical release.

When production began on Wonder Woman back in November, Warner Bros. confirmed a number of new supporting cast members, such as Robin Wright, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya and Lucy Davis, alongside the previously-announced Gal Gadot and Chris Pine. In the months that have followed, we haven't gotten confirmation about any of the supporting characters' identity, but it seems that another piece of the casting puzzle has come into place. Metro.uk has posted new photos from the London set, giving us our first look at Lucy Davis, who appears to be playing Etta Candy.
The site reports that the characters' identity has not been confirmed, but many have surmised this is who she's playing, given her red hair, costume and her friendship with Gal Gadot's Diana Prince. Both actresses are seen in London's Trafalgar Square, in a scene depicting Armistice Day (November 11, 1918), the day World War I ended.

From Bayonetta to Lara Croft, there are a good amount of female leads in games who are strong, intelligent, and badass. Unfortunately, most female sidekicks tend to be nothing more than eye candy or comedic relief. However, every once and a while we see a fantastic supporting female, like Alyx Vance or Liara T’soni, and once in a blue moon there’s the female sidekick who transcends the supporting role and becomes the star of the game.
Dixie Kong (Donkey Kong series)
Yes, Dixie is the star of Donkey Kong Country 3, but for the majority of the Dkc series she plays the role of sidekick. In both DKC2 and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Dixie is easily the best Kong to play as. Her signature ability is to twirl her ponytail, which acts like a propeller on a helicopter, allowing her to hover a bit and gain good distance.

One of the many great things about being a horror fan boy and reviewing movies is finding these great little gems that go in your back pocket to pull out for those moments when you want to make a stellar, but obscure recommendation. A suggestion that will almost surely merit a response kind of like “That movie was awesome! An amazing zombie comedy flick called “Hide and Creep” that’s up on YouTube in its entirety, and this very solid werewolf flick.

The fine folks over at Harris might be best known for their polling work during the lead-up to election season, but the company actually works year round, gauging public opinion on a wide variety of issues. This week, they decided to tackle the movie industry and more specifically, why people are or are not venturing out to the theater. Like most extremely detailed reports, this one is filled with a lot of numbers and pretty obvious revelations, but upon closer examination, it.s actually overflowing with a ton of fascinating information about how our movie-going habits are collectively changing and staying the same too. Luckily, rather than having to read all the graphics and jump to these conclusions yourself, I.ve gone through and picked out 5 fascinating little tidbits that point to larger trends. You can thank me later. In the meantime, here are the things you really need to...

EA Sports
I recently outlined something of a saga in my life, one that involved a Playstation 4, an excessive amount of my time, the virtual Wolverhampton Wanderers, and a copy of FIFA 14 by EA Sports.
And it was during that run that something was crystallized for me: there is a concrete process involved when it comes to how your mind consumes the soundtrack to an EA Sports game.
Though it was FIFA that led me to realize it, it was a mental recap of some two decades of being an EA connoisseur that truly cemented the epiphany. There is no question that the mind is conditioned to deal with the soundtrack of an EA Sports game in a very specific, structured manner.
Now that I’ve uncovered it, I’m sharing it with the world right here. For free.

don’t want to sound like a cynic, but few games surprise me anymore. I’m still quite young, but part of me feels like I have seen almost everything the gaming industry has to offer. There is the constant barrage of annual Fps games, the standard turn-based strategies, the uninspired action titles... all completely expected. Don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy Dishonored, Saints Row, and GTA, but none of them were out of the ordinary. I bought them looking for a specific experience, they delivered it, and I left relatively satisfied. The Stanley Parable is most definitely not one of those games.
Unfortunately, The Stanley Parable is a game I can’t say much about without completely ruining the entire thing. Here is what I can say. It is first person. You walk around. You click on objects to interact with them. You listen to the narrator.

My advance reading copy of Shivers VII didn’t include an introduction, and the table of contents gave no indication there would be one added to the finished and published edition. I’ve gotten used to anthologies leading off with some sort of mission statement or manifesto (sometimes, these missives are better than the stories that follow), but I guess hitting the seventh entry in a series indicates you know what you’re doing, and readers should know what to expect. After plowing through the 26 stories in Shivers VII, I’d say agree that no introduction is necessary. Like the six volumes before it, this is an anthology of rare quality, a collection of contemporary fiction that provides an excellent snapshot of where the genre stands today, and a roadmap to where it’s going. However, it’s important to remember where the genre came from even as it continues to move forward,...

Brian Michael Bendis’ Ultimate Spider-Man

Brian Michael Bendis’ Ultimate Spider-Man is the book that got me into comics, and despite Miles Morales replacing Peter Parker as Spider-Man for good, it consistently remains one of the top books on my pull list. I have also enjoyed Sara Pichelli and now David Marquez’s art whether showing the character’s emotions through their facial cues, Miles’ awkward attempts at web-slinging,...

NBC currently sits in 4th place in the ratings among the broadcast networks. The lowly last place is a tough place to be. Especially for a network that dominated just around a decade or two ago.
So it's hard to blame NBC for resorting to going back in time and giving viewers a taste of the good ol' NBC days. Hopefully fans forget how bad the network has screwed things up, NBC hopes no doubt.
One of the new pilots currently in contention for the 2012-2013 season is Downwardly Mobile, a sitcom starring Roseanne Barr. This will mark the actress' return to the network she helped rise to the top in the 90s with Roseanne. This past week, the travel back in time continued when it was reported that her Roseanne husband John Goodman would be joining her in Downwardly Mobile.

Welcome to the third Gossip Girl Round Table discussion of the season! Below, our panel breaks down the previous night's episode (see our official review from earlier this morning) in great detail.
Below, TV Fanatic commander-in-chief Eric Hochberger (Gossip Guy), editor Steve Marsi (Mister Meester) and writers Courtney Morrison, Christina Tran and Leigh Raines talk "The Jewel of Denial."
Weigh in with your take on the following topics after reading ours!
-------------------------------------------
What was your favorite quote from the episode?
Courtney: "There’s nothing more boring than a sense of morality, Humphrey." Classic Chuck Bass.
Christina: From Blair: “That is much more civilized, unlike your hair, Humphrey. You look like a Muppet.” I really just can’t get enough of the Dan jabs.
Leigh: Chuck to Dan in response to Dan doing some persuasion: "I have knee pads in the bedroom if you need them." First of all their banter kills me.

I hesitated posting the first bit of news this week in regards to the new cable series "Powers" and "100 Bullets" simply because they aren't very well-known outside of the more hardcore comics community. Which is kind of strange, really, considering they would be good fodder for recruiting n00bZ into the fold. Hence TV adaptations, perhaps?

Walker and Deena Pilgrim, as they investigate crimes involving "capes" -- those civilians with super powers and who do not abide by Spider-Man's number one rule. Patric joins Lucy Punch as Deena Pilgrim (she of the line, "Shut the front door,...

Hey! Guess what?! The Twilight Saga: Eclipse won best movie at the MTV Movie Awards! In fact, it won most of the awards, beating out real films like The Social Network, Inception and Black Swan. This isn't a surprise as the majority of the people who watch the MTV Movie Awards have a median age of 12 and still believe that Justin Bieber is a real musician. You know what this means? Unless you are between the ages of 12 and 16, or unless you have no dignity, you should Not be watching the MTV Movie Awards and you should also Not be caring about them. Got it? Great, moving on!
The second installment of Tom Six's ass to mouth masterpiece,The Human Centipede, has already been banned in England by the BBFC. Apparently it's unacceptable for public consumption. News to me! I had no idea that the public actually didn't want...

Happy Valentine’s Day! To celebrate, we revisit some of the scenes that still make us swoon. Some are obvious (Charlie Chaplin, Bogey and Bacall), some not so much (“Harold and Maude”?). And we discovered that the most romantic movie moments aren’t necessarily always found in romantic movies — you’ll find thrillers, sports movies and science fiction among our selections, as well as plenty of romances. Check out our picks and let us know what your most romantic movie moment is in the comment section below.
“Sense and Sensibility” (1995)
Directed by: Ang Lee
Starring: Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson
Near the end of “Sense and Sensibility,” Edward Ferrars (Hugh Grant) pays a visit to Elinor Dashwood (Emma Thompson). Grant’s doing his best fumbling Englishman — fiddling with the ornaments on the mantelpiece — while Thompson’s trying to hold it all together, believing he is already married to someone else.

Mega Python Vs. Gatoroid premiered on the Syfy network Saturday, January 29 at 9:00 Et and the movie will be replayed on Thursday, February 3 at 9 Pm Et. The movie stars 80s pop icons Deborah Gibson and Tiffany, who both held a conference call to discuss their new sci-fi adventure. Here's what they had to say below:
Can you both talk about what it's been like after all these years to still be connected and now be doing a movie together as women?
Tiffany: I think it's great. I think it's something that our fans have waited for a long time. I mean the funny thing to me is who would've thought that pythons and gators would unite us.
Deborah Gibson: Would bring us together yes.
Tiffany: It's this great movie that I truly enjoyed making. And it was awesome for me to be able to get to know Debbie more...

Considering I’m a sucker for quirky American comedies, it’s no surprise that Sol Tryon’s immensely enjoyable indie feature “The Living Wake” was one of my favorite discoveries from 2010. Although the film was made way back in 2007, it didn’t arrive on DVD here in the States until last August. Fortunately for those of you who missed it, Hulu is currently hosting the flick for absolute free. To make matters even sweeter, I’ve carefully embedded this hilarious little number below in order to prevent you from having to click the mouse a few more times. How incredibly kind and considerate is that? You can thank me later. Oh, and did I mention that 2011 Academy Award nominee Jesse Eisenberg has a sizable role in the movie? If that doesn’t convince you to check it out, then I honestly don’t know what will. Perhaps my glowing review can help persuade you,...

Back in October, we brought you the exclusive news that Godzilla was returning to comics — and he was bringing a whole mess of monsters with him. Today, Idw Publishing has revealed the creative team that will handle Godzilla's new adventures, and offered up a brand new cover image for the series.
Scripted by "Goon" creator Eric Powell and Tracy Marsh, the newly retitled "Godzilla: Monster World" will feature art by Phil Hester ("Green Arrow," "Firebreather") and painted covers by Powell and Alex Ross. According to Idw, the series unfolds in a world where "the monsters are a force of nature whose attacks can be no more predicted or rationalized than a lightning strike. There will be no clean-cut heroes with perfectly chiseled chins and capes billowing in the wind; only ordinary human beings struggling desperately to survive in a world gone mad."
"Godzilla: Monster World" #1 will hit shelves in March 2011.

When I first heard that director Shawn Levy was making a robot boxing movie, I’ll admit to thinking it sounded like a really stupid idea. After all, the guy who made Pink Panther and the Night at the Museum movies taking on robot boxing? Um…no thanks. But after sitting in the editing room the other day with Levy and having him show me (along with a few other reporters) about ten minutes of the movie, consider me ready to enter the ring to fight alongside Hugh Jackman.
While I’ll explain what the movie is about and have a lot more details about what I learned after the jump, I want to immediately talk about something that absolutely floored me during the presentation.
Like all of you, when I watch a movie, I can tell when an effect is done by computers and when it’s real. Meaning,...

Drake performs in Miami on Tuesday

Miami — For Drake, even as the venues get bigger, his performances grow more intimate.
On the second date of his Light Dreams and Nightmares Tour — the sophomore headlining trek for the Toronto lyricist following his Away From Home outing earlier this year — Drake was ever the gentleman, as he catered to a single invited guest onstage at the James L. Knight Center, despite all of the shrieks from the sold-out crowd.
"Stay right there," he told concertgoer Veronica. "Let me take my time."
With that, Drake casually walked over to the young woman, took her hand and began slow-dancing with her. "Hold on," he shouted to the audience, pausing only a minute in. "If you have a camera on your phone,...

Codeblack Entertainment has acquired North American distribution rights to Thomas Ikimi’s thriller Legacy starring Idris Elba, with a late 2010 release planned.
The film, which we’ve discussed a bit on this blog, most recently won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2010 American Black Film Festival, which wrapped up last weekend, after making its U.S. debut at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival, which is where I saw the film. I reviewed it afterward, and you can read that review Here.
And while we haven’t put out a press release yet, I’m happy to leak out the fact that we will be screening the film here in New York City, in August, as part of the ActNow New Voices In Black Cinema Screening Series, which I’m a curator of, as long-time readers of this blog will be know. A formal announcement is forthcoming… But, if you live in NYC,...

I know, I know — “Dinocroc vs. Supergator” is complete garbage, and shouldn’t be covered by any discerning film fanatic. However, the three spiffy clips and a trailer I’ve lovingly provided below are undeniably funny, especially if you absolutely adore the motion pictures that make their worldwide debut on SyFy. Of course, if the names Roger Corman and Jim “Return of the Swamp Thing” Wynorski mean nothing to you whatsoever, perhaps this isn’t the film for you. The rest of us, on the other hand, have much to be excited about. June 26th cannot get here soon enough. Watch the trailer first, then move directly to the aforementioned clips. You can thank me later if you so choose.

We tried really hard to find you a clip from "Black Dynamite" to share here on the blog, but there's really nothing that could get through standards. In other words: this is not a movie for kids.
What it is is one of the funniest films of 2009, a personal Sundance favorite of mine and one of the sharpest genre parodies the industry has seen in quite some time. In this extra, we see co-writer/star Michael Jai White and writer/director Scott Sanders discussing the film's blaxploitation roots. White specifically references era superstar Jim Brown as one of his personal inspirations for the Black Dynamite character.
Seriously... see this movie now. You can thank me later.

Netflix’s Instant Watch service is a godsend for movie-watchers, stateside. For as little as $9 per month, you have instant access to a vast selection of movies, old and new. No need to wait for them to send you the next DVD in your queue. Just fire up the old computer, head to Netflix.com, find what you’re looking for, and click the button to immediately watch!
It’s even better if you have a TV to connect your computer/laptop to, or an Internet-ready TV set, so you’re not limited to the size of your PC monitor.
Initially, Netflix’s Instant Watch selection was quite limited; however, they’ve been doing an incredible job of loading up with thousands of new and classic movies online, and there’s more than enough currently there to...

Releases just in time to be attached to the Alvin and the Chipmunks sequel (I will not say it's name), here's the trailer for Brendan Fraser's Furry Vengeance, which you can watch from the comfort of your computer without having to slog your way to see Alvin. Oh, you're so welcome, too. You're going to love this one. It's just what you asked Santa for.
You remember that time you sat on his lap, and you felt a weird protuberance? Yeah. That's what watching this trailer feels like -- being molested by a fat man in a Santa suit with whiskey and sausage breathe.

This decade's Secret Shames are, more often than not, the next decade's Hangover Theater films. It's a decade-long process, really. Movies debut on the screen to terrible reviews, eventually get aired on television cable on a loop, and then viewers inexplicably get caught up in them, revel in their atrociousness, and a consensus begins to form until films once thought to be terrifically heinous can be collectively appreciated on the so-bad-it's good scale. The next thing you know, it's in your DVD collection, and you're waking up on a Saturday morning covered in your own drool and begging your roommate to pop in fucking Joe Dirt because you can't bear anything more intelligent.
Over the years, Secret Shames have been a popular topic on Pajiba -- it takes an intelligent audience, I suppose, to own up to their guilty pleasures without fear of reproach. And as someone familiar with thousands...

Nobody I know seems to be as excited about “Napolean Dynamite” director Jared Hess’ upcoming off-beat comedy “Gentlemen Broncos” as I am, and for the life of me, I can’t understand why. The trailer is immensely amusing, so much so that I’ve actually watched it more times than I’m comfortable admitting in a public forum. During my quest to uncover more information about the film, I stumbled across a handful of interesting pics on the film’s official website. Now, thanks to the magic of the world wide web, I am presenting them here for you to thoroughly enjoy. You may not be as thrilled as I am about the whole silly affair, but staring at photographs certainly helps kill time in-between lofty, high-profile projects at work. You can thank me later, of course. Here’s what the film’s all about: A teenage loner is drawn...

One of the most satisfying movies I've seen at Fantastic Fest so far has been Michel Bassett's Solomon Kane. After all, it's a pretty ballsy movie considering that Bassett has decided to take an iconic character (with a small, but dedicated fan base) and attempt to create an origin story for said character that doesn't appear in any of the original source materials. Without pandering to fans and without alienating them completely, Bassett has managed to take a fun, dark character and introduce him to a larger audience by concentrating on making a great film while focusing on the tone of Solomon Kane - who he is and what his world look like. And mostly that world looks like shit. It's been raining for years, violence is all around and the good people are hammered almost out of existence by cruelty. Out of the darkness comes a man with a buckle on his hat. I...
