Guest star Robert John Burke (Jeff Andrews) will later play both single episode characters and a recurring character in a few of Homicide's sister series. He appears in three episodes of Law & Order (1990), playing a different character in each episode; he is best known for playing Captain Ed Tucker, a detective with IAB on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999), who is first seen in season three and goes on to appear in a total of 30 episodes with his final appearance in season 21. He also appears as a recurring character on one of Tom Fontana's other series Oz (1997), playing FBI Special Agent Pierce Taylor.
