Despite the name, Cocaine Cougar is not about the women down at the corner bar. It’s another microbudget attempt to cash in on Cocaine Bear, but unlike Cocaine Shark, this one actually involves cocaine. On the other hand, there is no such thing as a black cougar. But I suppose cocaine panther didn’t have the same ring to it.

After a title card tell us that this is based on true events and several minutes of the camera prowling through the woods we get several minutes of credits intercut with stock footage of a lab where animals are being experimented on. Dawna Lee Heising joins the cast of the pirate action thriller “Cursed Waters” from Mahal Empire Productions. The big-budget feature film is written by Adam Werth and B.J. Mezek and will be directed by Werth. The director of photography is Michael Su. Dawna plays cult member Evelyn, and she is thrilled to join an outstanding cast that includes Glenn Plummer, B.J. Mezek, John Wells, Robert Lasardo, Vernon Wells, Costas Mandylor, Michael Pare, Tom Proctor, Greg Tally, Anne Marie Olsen, Maritza Brikisak, Denny Nolan, Lance Caver, and many other stars. Cocaine Cougar, the latest in a string of “drug fueled” animal flicks that began with “Cocaine Bear” is now available on Amazon Prime and it arrives on Tubi next week.

The fun flick is Directed by Dustin Ferguson (“Mega Ape”) and follows a deadly Black Cougar high on Cocaine after it escapes a Los Angeles lab. As it begins picking off the locals, the men in charge are too busy snorting lines of their own and enjoying “cougars” of another kind to do anything to stop it. Abacus Boards Dan Reed’s Andrew Tate Doc

Abacus Media Rights has acquired worldwide sales rights (excluding the UK) to Dan Reed’s feature doc on detained social media influencer Andrew Tate. (In)Famous: Andrew Tate, which examines the rapid rise of former kickboxer and porn entrepreneur Tate, was announced by UK network Channel 4 last week. At the end of last year Tate was arrested by Romanian police on suspicion of rape, organized crime and human trafficking. He and his brother Tristan remain in jail after being detained ahead of trial. Reed, best known for Channel 4 doc Leaving Neverland, has secured full access to Tate and was in Romania during the period Tate was arrested. The film will look at how he became successful so quickly.

One of the things that I attribute the fact that I’m still alive to is the fact that I never liked going camping. From The Hills Have Eyes to The Trees Have Eyes to Eyes of Fire and now In the Forest heading out to the great outdoors never seems to end well, does it?

In the Forest opens with Bob Seegar’s “Against the Wind” playing on an Rv radio. Apart from making me feel old, it made me nervous because getting the rights to a song like this probably ate most of the film’s budget.
