Bloody Disgusting has learned this week that Cleopatra will be releasing Glenn Danzig’s Death Rider in the House of Vampires on DVD and Blu-ray sometime in December 2023!

Six months after going missing in the Mount Baldy wilderness outside Los Angeles, it has been confirmed today that veteran actor Julian Sands has passed away at the age of 65.

The San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department said in an official statement today, “The identification process for the body located on Mt. Baldy on June 24, 2023, has been completed and was positively identified as 65-year-old Julian Sands of North Hollywood. The manner of death is still under investigation, pending further test results.

“We would like to extend our gratitude to all the volunteers that worked tirelessly to locate Mr. Sands,” this afternoon’s statement continued.

Here in the horror world, Julian Sands is best known for playing the titular Warlock in the 1989 horror movie Warlock, reprising his role in 1993’s Warlock: The Armageddon.

Sands played Dr. James Atherton in 1990’s Arachnophobia, also starring in Gothic (1986), Naked Lunch (1991), The Turn of the Screw...

Nearly two years have gone by since we heard anything about Death Rider in the House of Vampires, the second feature directorial effort from musician Glenn Danzig (following the infamous 2019 horror anthology Verotika – watch it Here). At that time, the film was receiving a 200+ screen theatrical release in the United States… but after that theatrical run, the movie disappears. Now Screen Daily reports that Vmi Worldwide is presenting Death Rider in the House of Vampires to potential distributors at the Cannes Film Market – so if deals are secured there, more of us will have a chance to see the movie soon.

Scripted by Danzig, who also composed the score, Death Rider in the House of Vampires is a Spaghetti Western where every single character is a vampire. The story centers on the Death Rider, who travels to the desert Vampire Sanctuary ruled by Count Holliday. The price of admission… one untouched virgin.

Screen Daily breaks the silence this week, revealing that Death Rider in the House of Vampires is coming to Cannes this month.

Screen Daily reports, “Vmi Worldwide has added action-horror feature Death Rider in the House of Vampires to its slate for the Cannes market.”

What does this mean? Well, it means that Danzig’s Death Rider in the House of Vampires will be going up for sale this month, which could bring us closer to a wide release. Beyond that limited theatrical release back in 2021, the film hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

The picture is the sequel to Onetti’s 2017 horror hit What The Waters Left Behind about a group of youngsters whose plan to shoot a documentary about the real-life, abandoned, lakeside spa resort of Epecuén takes a terrifying turn.

The new film revisits Epecuén and follows an Anglo-American indie rock band that ends up stranded in the desolate city. Their internal conflicts and the bad luck of their tour quickly fade, when they begin to discover the bloody hell that awaits them.

Camilio Zaffora wrote the screenplays for the original and its sequel.

The drama stars social media influencer David Michigan, Mario Alarcón (The Secret In Their Eyes), Magui Bravi (The 100 Candles Game) and German Baudino (History of The Occult).

I’m not sure what’s more surprising, that I’m reviewing a movie called Death Rider in the House of Vampires or that, after Verotika, somebody put up money for Glenn Danzig to make another movie. But here we are.

As the film opens Death Rider is riding through a desert filled with warning signs and crucified bodies. He leads another horse, with a bound, topless woman on it. She is his entrance fee to Sanctuary, one female virgin. She looks like she probably couldn’t remember when she actually was a virgin but that’s besides the point.

After riding for what seems to be hours and running into some trouble from Bela Latigo he arrives...

The first Verotika Nsfw trailer has finally landed. Glenn Danzig fans who weren't able to make it to the premieres have been waiting since last summer to see some footage. The movie is based on Danzig's line of comic books and will be coming to video-on-demand services February 25th, with a Blu-ray scheduled to arrive March 3rd. Verotika has been hailed as the horror version of The Room, which means it's well on the way to cult status.

Verotika premiered at Chicago's Cinepocalypse last summer and Glenn Danzig was on hand, later speaking to the audience and addressing the laughs that the movie received. Danzig didn't expect people to laugh at his over the top and gruesome horror movie, but there was plenty of laughter where it was not intended to be, which is why it's been compared to Tommy Wiseau's The Room. "You guys laughed at the stuff I wouldn't have laughed at,...
