Starz has announced the movie and TV titles that will be available on the service in April. The Starz April 2025 schedule includes new episodes of Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 4.

The Starz app expands its movie slate in April with an exciting mix of films, including the thriller Both Eyes Open, starring Gail Bean, Joy Brunson, and Taye Diggs; the comedy Strays, featuring the voices of Will Ferrell, Jamie Foxx, and Will Forte; and the video game adaptation Five Nights at Freddy’s, starring Josh Hutcherson, Matthew Lillard, and Piper Rubio.

Vin Diesel has been known to use his Instagram to update fans on his upcoming projects, even when there isn't really anything official on the horizon. In a retrospective post, he has now shared surprising new updates on many possible new projects coming down the line, from a new xXx movie, the next Riddick installment, and a possible solo Groot movie from Marvel Studios.

European feature development programme Less Is More (Lim) has selected 16 feature projects for its 2025 edition, including Naomi Waring’s UK title Drifters.

The project follows a 19-year-old in Belfast’s underground community of drifters, who finds healing through a group of other young fathers.

Vin Diesel was bitten by the acting bug very early in his life, having acted in a New York stage production of "Dinosaur Door" at the age of seven. The way Diesel came to be involved in "Dinosaur Door" was kismet. It seems that he and a few buddies had broken into the theater to vandalize it, but were caught by the theater manager. Rather than calling the police, Diesel and friends were offered parts in the play, which they accepted. Diesel ended up studying writing and filmmaking in college.

Diesel made his motion picture debut in 1990, playing an unnamed orderly in the Robin Williams/Robert De Niro drama "Awakenings." He was 23. Also a burgeoning filmmaker, Diesel also wrote and directed the short film "Multi-Facial" in 1995, a film about his own multiracial background. In 1997, Diesel wrote, directed, and starred in the character-based crime movie "Strays," a film that played at the Sundance Film Festival.

When Will & Harper made the Oscar shortlist for Documentary Feature, director Josh Greenbaum told Deadline, “I am just absolutely thrilled, and I know I share that emotion with Will and Harper, and the whole team behind the film. Big news has been revealed about From as the hit MGM+ series nears the end of its third season with very high marks from critics. The show, which holds a perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes for Season 3, is going to be returning for a fourth season.

MGM+ has renewed From for Season 4. The reveal comes just days ahead of the Season 3 finale, which is due to drop on Nov. 24. With the renewal secured, the reported plan is for Season 4 to start filming in Nova Scotia in 2025 with a premiere on MGM+ set for sometime in 2026. MGM+ has also officially confirmed the news with a statement touting how much of a hit From has been for the streaming platform, explaining why it was a no-brainer to bring back the series for more episodes.

Will Ferrell is set to take on the world of televised courtroom justice.

Ferrell is set to star for director Nicholas Stoller in the comedy feature Judgment Day, which is currently in development at Amazon MGM Studios. Stoller also penned the screenplay.

Judgment Day centers on a young convict who gets out of prison and takes an unscripted TV courtroom hostage, as he is convinced that the TV judge (Ferrell) delivered a ruling that destroyed his life.

Serving as producers are Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum and Alex Brown for Gloria Sanchez Productions and Stoller for Stoller Global Solutions.

Ferrell can soon be seen opposite Reese Witherspoon in Amazon MGM’s movie You’re Cordially Invited, which Stoller directed. The wedding comedy co-stars Geraldine Viswanathan and Jimmy Tatro and begins streaming via Prime Video on Jan. 30.

Stoller is known for helming such films as Bros, Neighbors and its sequel and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Exclusive: Mere weeks after signing on to 20th Century Studios’ comedy Street Justice, Will Ferrell has found another new project in Judgment Day, a comedy in development at Amazon MGM Studios that Nicholas Stoller will direct from his own script.

The former Saturday Night Live funnyman and current star of the poignant documentary Will & Harper is reportedly in talks to star in the next film by comedy director Peter Atencio, a Dirty Harry-style feature called Street Justice.

In new reporting from Deadline, Ferrell will produce and star in the new film for 20th Century Studios, being touted as "a Dirty Harry type who goes about taking justice into his own hands," based on a script and original idea by screenwriter David Callaham. This will be the second collaboration between Callaham and Atencio, who previously worked on Jean-Claude Van Johnson together, an action comedy television series starring Jean-Claude Van Damme as a heightened version of himself that they worked on together for Prime Video.

Titled "The Light of Day," the fifth episode of From Season 3 is written by Brigitte Hales and John Griffin. While on the Filmmaker Toolkit podcast, director Josh Greenbaum took IndieWire behind the scenes of the planning, making, and editing of his new hit documentary “Will & Harper.” The documentary, which premiered at Sundance and hit Netflix last week, is a road trip film, as comedian Will Ferrell takes a cross-country journey with long-time friend and collaborator Harper Steele after she came out as a transwoman. The journey serves as a way for the two friends to explore how the will affect their friendship, while Steele sees if the country she loves — prior to her transition, Steele loved taking solo cross-country trips and wonders if she can travel the country with the same sense of freedom — will love her back.

The film, which follows Ferrell and his friend traveling across America while coming to understand Steele’s physical and spiritual transition into womanhood along the way, is being released at the height of an election season that sees two candidates who are diametrically opposed on issues relating to LGBTQ rights. Despite this timing, in a recent interview with The Independent, Ferrell explained how the efforts of this project go beyond politics.

“There is hatred out there,” he said. “It’s very real and it’s very unsafe for trans people in certain situations. But I don’t know why trans people are meant to be threatening to me as a cis male.

Six-time Emmy-winner and one-time Tony nominee Will Ferrell appears in a new documentary, “Will & Harper,” now streaming on Netflix. Ferrell reunites with former “Saturday Night Live” writer and friend Harper Steele for a cross-country road trip during which the duo discuss Steele’s life since coming out as a transgender woman. The feature premiered at Sundance, where it was picked up by Netflix, and later screened at Telluride, among other festivals.

The official synopsis reads: “Two years ago, Will Ferrell was filming a movie when he received a most surprising email: his dear friend of nearly 30 years was coming out to him as a trans woman. That friend was Harper Steele, a writer Will met on his first day at ‘Saturday Night Live’ back in 1995. From that fateful first meeting in the halls of 30 Rock, Will knew he had found a match made in comedy, and their friendship and creative partnership would only continue...
