Talking It Over

Jack Osterman sings a song, tells a long and rambling story, and sings another song.

It was a standard sort of act on the vaudeville circuit, and Osterman does okay with it, just as Eddie Cantor had befre him. Osterman does the self-deprecating humor, talking about the song he wrote -- with five other guys in the room.

It's a decent act, and I can see it playing for years in Vaudeville. With movies, however, you've got the competition of other performers whose movies are as easily available as yours, at substantially the same price.
