Exclusive: Zac Looker (Geek Girl), Jessica Belkin (American Horror Story: Hotel) and Logan Shroyer (This is Us) have been cast in Prime Video‘s Legally Blonde prequel series Elle.

They join the previously announced cast: Lexi Minetree, who plays Elle; June Diane Raphael as Elle’s mom, Eva; Tom Everett Scott as Elle’s dad, Wyatt; Gabrielle Policano as Liz; Jacob Moskovitz as Miles; and Chandler Kinney as Kimberly.

From creator Laura Kittrell, the series follows Elle Woods in high school as we learn about the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman in the first Legally Blonde film.

In a series regular role, Looker has been cast as Dustin, Elle’s classmate and sparring partner who cares about social justice and isn’t afraid to challenge authority.

Prime Video began production on its new series, Elle, and on April 2, Reese Witherspoon released a first-look photo of Lexi Minetree as Elle Woods.

When reporting on the series update, Deadline shared Prime Video commits to going back in time to tell Elle's past right: "You can tell they’ve gone back in time as the teen uses her clear phone to speak to her friends on a landline, as many did in the '90s. And in true Elle Woods fashion, she’s wearing a pink hoodie and surrounded by her pink bedding."

Viewers can expect a lot of pink attire, corded phones, and possibly some great dialogue. If they fully commit, the audience will be transported back to a different era of music and feel like we're in the Legally Blonde films with a younger spin.

It looks like Netflix’s A Different World sequel series is making the grade.

The series has earned a pilot order from the streamer, our sister site Variety reports, with plans to shoot a pilot this summer “to get a better sense of the show’s tone and of the chemistry among the ensemble cast.” No casting for the sequel series has been announced yet.

Famously starring Mae Whitman (Good Girls), Mary McDonnell and Jane Seymour, the series is set to make its world premiere during the Countdown to Christmas on Hallmark Channel, and will also stream the following day on Hallmark+.

Fans of the network are getting an update about the 2025 Countdown to Christmas. This year isn’t just about wholesome movies. There’s also a new series in the works. Deadline broke the news that Seymour is joining a television drama that includes Mae Whitman and Mary McDonnell. It also stars Nathaniel Parker, Julian Morris, and Toby Sandeman.

The new show is The Twelve Dates of Christmas; however, the title could change. It’s based on the book by the same name, Jenni Bayliss. The series will premiere on Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas and stream the following day on Hallmark+. An official premiere date hasn’t been announced. Filming has already begun.

Exclusive: Sara Shepard, the bestselling author behind the popular Pretty Little Liars novels which have spawned several TV series, has signed with Gersh for representation.

In addition to Pretty Little Liars, Shepard also penned The Perfectionists book series, both of which have collectively inspired a franchise spanning four television series—Pretty Little Liars, Ravenswood, Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, and Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin.

She is the author of over forty novels for both kids and adults, including Reputation, The Elizas and the Penny Draws series, which she writes and illustrates. She also penned The Lying Game, which was adapted into a television series, and The Amateurs, among other works.

Biff Wiff, the beloved character actor who portrayed multiple roles on the sketch comedy series I Think You Should Leave and had a supporting role in the Oscar-winning Everything Everywhere All at Once died following a battle with cancer, his talent management company Entertainment Lab confirmed on Friday.

“It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of our beloved client and actor, Biff Wiff,” Entertainment Lab wrote in an Instagram post on Friday. “Biff was an amazing person inside and out, and his loving energy could be felt by all.

Biff Wiff, the beloved character actor best known for his roles in I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson and the Oscar-winning Everything Everywhere All At Once, has died after his battle with cancer, his talent management company announced online.

“It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of our beloved client and actor, Biff Wiff,” Entertainment Lab wrote on Instagram. “Biff was an amazing person inside and out, and his loving energy could be felt by all. CBS has lined up Justin Long, Kara Royster, Hunter King and Angelique Cabral to guest star in the Season 7 finale of The Neighborhood which will serve as a backdoor pilot for a potential spinoff series.

The quartet have options to become series regulars if CBS moves forward with the planted spinoff for the 2025-26 season and will star on the proposed series alongside The Neighborhood’s Marcel Spears and Sheaun McKinney who will move onto the offshoot.

The premise of the spinoff echoes that of the mothership in reverse. DGA president Lesli Linka Glatter opened the 77th annual DGA Awards Saturday night by calling on studio executives and top producers to work to “bring production back to the U.S. and bring it back in force.”
