Absolution

This is a micro-budget actioner with a lot of heart. I caught this at a local theatrical screening, and it was a pretty decent action/thriller with some solid work in front of and behind the camera.

Director James Dean assembles a solid cast of characters in ABSOLUTION, which plays on familiar themes of loyalty, service, and duty. I could draw some direct parallels to the Death Wish series of films (especially the first one) and maybe even more so Clint Eastwood's Gran Torino, but I don't want to give anything away.

Suffice it to say, if you're a fan of the "Old man takes violent revenge on young punks" subgenre of films, it's definitely worth checking out!
