The hyped blaxploitation in mid-seventies already has been breathed by appliances, so the producers migrate to horror mixing these two opposite genres, however the iconic New Orleans had a strong background on African voodoo's folklore among otherworldly elements, it somehow brings a required environment for this weirdo story works out, so the first barrier was overcame plenty, the next step should be a trustworthy screenplay to sway the viewers to swallow the odd feature, unfortunately the leading star Glynn Turner was not exactly able to perform such character.
Actually the movie exposes a kind of immaturity of the filmmaker Arthur Marks dealing with this neuralgic matter of possession from someone afterlife, in others words he portraited J. D. Walker wrongly when he allows a sexual intercourse with his former sister Alice Jubert also in double roles in current life, it doesn't make sense in any point of view whatsoever, everything getting worst when the ghost J. D. is back with nasty sexual behavior, it's another weak point, due nowadays Isaac has an opposite virtue, in fact the self-called reincarnation wasn't be embodied by a deceased entity as the movie suggests, he was born as Isaac in a new prearranged life.
Anyway the lack of expertise left a lame movie concerning the misguided approaching of a subject likewise reincarnation as explicit in the movie poster, aside these mismatches who worthwhile a look is the louder-punchy reverend Louis Gossett Jr. On preaching at church yelling all the time, he would be a better preacher than an actor!! Sorry Loui!!
Thanks for reading.

The brothers Korda of London Films is back with another novel from the legendary British writer H. G. Wells, it somewhat enters in fantasy genre, when one of the Gods from Olympus with of pity of mankind's insignificance decides give of one of them a smallest powers which lies in moving objects, turn some matters, changing forms among others little things only, nonetheless never given any power concerning feelings otherwise it isn't logical with those despicable human beings self-called homo sapiens.
This mid-age man George Fotheringay (Roland Young) who receive such power starting make smallest magic witnessed by a small crowd, whereby they describe wrongly as miracles, when the silly Fotheringay shows it for greedy people it became dangerous, each one has an opposite purpose, so when it caught in public knowledge the things getting out of control.
It contents a scathing review over the humanity as a whole, each one thinking in our benefits forgetting the remaining and its side effects when such changing will screw up the unblessed for good, H. G. Wells was a real genius indeed.

Sadly it reaches at my hands just lately in a special horror Box-Set starring our beloved Boris Karloff as mad man just for a change, having the gorgeous Anna Lee as British actress Nell Bowen in London in eighteen century sponsored by a nasty and powerful fat politician Lord Mortimer (Billy House) that aside any sexual intercourse implied on picture Mortimer having fun in companion with such gracious lady, turns out that Nell on visiting a London's Asylum figures out that such hideous place is ruled by a evil man George Sims (Boris Karloff) that to get high position just appealing for il-fated bootlicking otherwise would remain at your usual paltriness.
When the free-mind Nell Bowen gets rid of his jester patron aiming for humanity treatment changing of those looney inmates at infamous Asylum it triggers the wrath of the evil George Sims whereby for corruptive manners wants keep that way, thus later the own Nell is taken to the psychiatric council upon the greedy Sims to certify her as mad one, jailed there indefinitely, however thru a straight British Quaker member (Richard Fraser) together another powerful politician intitled as Devil Wilkes (Leyland Hodson) they got a new psychiatric assessment.
The legendary Val Lewton & Mark Robson assigned the amazing screenplay and Mark Robson took the direction in a RKO gorgeous production as usually, the results is greater as never if we regard it as small feature with gothic elements it's a stunning horror concerning the nuts that were treated like animals, one greatest picture on this thematic and neuralgic matter, by the way would Anna Lee is a kind of relative of forthcoming star Helen Hunt? Too much alike each other.
