Where was this Sutter the last few seasons with all its inconsistencies? This episode and the one before have been absolutely masterful. For once, we have gotten some valuable character insight and development which has been missing from characters like Chibs, Tig anf especially Gemma. They have always been great but lacking depth. Too bad that the series kept us waiting till now, but at least it's going out with a bang. Katey Sagal is stunning as usual, but there is stellar work by Charlie Hunnam, Jimmy Smits, Drea de Matteo, Theo Rossi, Tommy Flanagan, Kim Coates, Dayton Callie and Theo Rossi. The club sit downs which incorporate recently introduced members voting on super consequential stuff are still ludicrous, but that's nitpicking. Last episode, Faith and Despondency and this one, Suits of Woe, are among the best of the series and can stand proudly with anything in the new Golden Age of TV.

Sons of Anarchy always goes from riveting to ridiculous. This season is the strongest case in point. Is there a more idiotic and inept leader than Jax Teller? He has taken the club through a disastrous course of actions and one has to wonder why anyone would still be following him at this point. This just make all the guys look even stupider, though at long last Chibs question one of the dumbest thing Jax has ever done. It's still compelling, but as with a great part of the show it has no logic.

The worst traits of Sons of Anarchy are in full display here: bloated, contrived, overlong, grotesquely and needlessly violent. Even if contrived, the last season of Season 6 was riveting and showcased a great performance by the sometimes uneven Maggie Siff. This clocks in at 1 hour and 15 minutes, and there is a lot of padding. Jax continues playing gangs against each other and you wonder if criminals are this stupid, how do they get any crime done. On the plus side Katey Sagal is great as usual,// are Drea de Matteo and CCH Pounder.
