She entered the Eurovision Song Contest with Hugo Sigal in 1971 and 1973. But in 1971 they couldn't go because Nicole was ill.

In 1970, she met Hugo Sigal. They fell in love, and also became professional partners. They formed a singing duo that scored their first big hit in 1971 with the song "Goeiemorgen, morgen'. Since then, they formed a well-known showbiz couple for decades. They continued to perform inseparably all these years, but in 2015 they said their final farewell to the stage.

Solo Nicole Josy released over 20 songs.

In the 1974 World Popular Song Festival in Tokyo, Japan, their fortunes improved. They came second with the song "With the Summer" Met de zomer mee). Nicole & Hugo performed their song there in a mixture of Dutch, English and Japanese. They also received the Outstanding Composition Award at the same festival.

Starting in 1983, they also entertained audiences for years on cruises around the world. "We have seen the world for 25 years. We have seen practically everything that is on the water. In that time we had a very nice life", Nicol once said.
