The story of his experience with the NY State Lottery was dramatized in the 1991 film, Perseguitato dalla fortuna (1991). Pesce was involved with the film, as well as starring as Frank's brother Vito. Though the film portrays as having won the lottery, he actually was a finalist for the jackpot but did not win.

Frequently cast in Eddie Murphy films ranging from Beverly Hills Cop to Tower Heist.

In Beverly Hills Cop he's billed as Cigarette Buyer, and in the sequel he's Carlotta, yet they are the same character.
