Reputed filmmaker A R Murugadoss of ‘Ghajini’ fame unveiled a candid open letter on Friday during a promotional event for his upcoming production ‘August 16, 1947’. The movie is about a remote village where one man inspires his compatriots to fight against their oppressive British masters, who continue to treat them badly despite India becoming an independent nation.

Murugadoss appeals to his fellow citizens to not take India’s Independence for granted. He speaks about our bravely fought freedom struggle, and highlights many of the pains and bruises left behind after the battle. The maverick storyteller concludes his address with an inspiring message too.

Written and directed by N S Ponkumar, the movie features Gautham Karthik, Revathy, Pugazh and English actor Richard Ashton in the main roles.

"It's like Bridezilla in reverse!" Netflix has debuted their official trailer for the cheesy romantic comedy A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding, a sequel to the film released last year A Christmas Prince. In the first one, a journalist falls in love with the prince and ends up with plans to soon marry him. In this one, with the royal wedding ceremony approaching on Christmas night, she starts to feel unsure and isn't entirely ready to make the leap. All the while, the prince ends up in a political crisis of his own. The Royal Wedding once again stars Rose McIver and Ben Lamb from the first, with a cast including Alice Krige, Richard Ashton, Tahirah Sharif, Joel McVeagh, and Clara Ciobanu. This lead actress reminds me too much of Keri Russell, but no. This looks very sweet and campy, but maybe there's a few good lessons in the film.

Dementamania follows a well groomed and obsessive senior software analyst Edward Arkham (Sam Robertson) who’s constantly caught between reality and his imagination, where he takes out all the anger and frustration on people like his backstabbing manager or his annoying co-workers. One morning, he meets Nicholas Lemarchand (Vincent Regan), who tells Edward that he’s a mediator, but as the hallucinations get worse for him through the day, Edward starts seeing him Nicholas more and more in unexpected places, and when security footage suggests the mediator doesn’t even exist, Edward starts to get more and more suspicious of the strange man whilst falling further and further into his twisted imagination.

It’s remarkably clear exactly what The New Adventures of Robin Hood wanted to accomplish with its campy take on the legendary vigilante and his merry band. Hercules had started two years before and was enjoying a successful run; Kevin Sorbo was reenacting the tales of the mythological hero, with plenty of creative license, and all he had to do was follow along with the modestly staged choreography and decently written scripts. The show was hammy, the special effects were barely par – but it didn’t matter, it was a Saturday afternoon serial and its audience was set. Enter Robin Hood. It wanted to latch on to that same viewership and thus took a lot of the same liberties, except it makes Hercules look like a television master stroke in comparison.
