Oh boy, that’s a lot of corpses. I think it would have been better if the sixth episode of the 1923 season 2 was titled “The Killing Season,” on account of how a hell of a lot of people died in this one. Though, I am sure many of us already saw that coming. It’s like what Jacob Dutton had said earlier in the season, that the war would begin as soon as the winter ended. So here we were, looking at around five to six dead bodies showing up in a single episode, and yes, there’s more to follow in the season 2 finale.

Love or loathe him, 1923's most wicked character, Donald Whitfield (Timothy Dalton), is making Season 2 of the Yellowstone spin-off a must-see event. Much has been written about the slimy character's sadistic abuse and repulsive sexual proclivities, and whether he takes them too far. But without him, the YellowstoneOrigin Story would be robbed of its most terrifying villain, and fans would be robbed of an enjoyable season of TV.
Speaking of suffering, Whitfield appears in the Season 2 premiere and instantly strikes fear into the heads and hearts of the Dutton family. Unlike the first season, which introduced Whitfield to viewers in Episode 4, Season 2 shocks fans to the bone with Whitfield's immediate presence and torturous behavior. Controversial as it may sound, 1923 has improved Season 2 with the instant inclusion of Whitfield.

The second season of 1923 has thrown viewers right into the depths of the Dutton saga. As members of the Dutton family in Montana and far from home alike struggle to find safety and security, others in their sphere of influence engage in similar battles.
Episodes 1 and 2 of 1923's second season, called "The Killing Season" and "The Rapist Is Winter," respectively, presented the dangers faced by everyone in the Dutton's sphere of influence and vicinity. Episode 3, "Wrap Thee in Terror," ventures a bit farther from the wilds of the Dutton ranch but is equally clear with its ominous title what's in store.
The force of winter continues to beat down on the Duttons, leading Jacob Dutton (Harrison Ford) to say what everyone is feeling in their bones — the winter does not seem like it will ever end. Here's a look at what happened in "Wrap Thee in Terror."

Season 2 of 1923 returns to Montana and the saga of the Duttons with the intensity fans have come to expect from Taylor Sheridan and the Yellowstone world. As winter rages and desperation reigns, it is clear throughout the first two episodes that life and love for the Duttons are destined to be as difficult as ever.
Episode 1, "The Killing Season," had an ominous title, but the second episode of season 2 of 1923 was even more menacing. Called "The Rapist Is Winter," Episode 2 was every bit as harsh and unrelenting as its predecessor, if not more so. Cara Dutton and Elizabeth Stafford try to keep the wolves at bay while Jacob Dutton (Harrison Ford) and his traveling companions refuse to back down from the threats winter brings.

With Season 2 of 1923 premiering on Paramount+ on February 23, 2025, here's hoping that Taylor Sheridan will refrain from showcasing Donald Whitfield's repulsive sex fetish. Indeed, the great Timothy Dalton, who famously portrayed the charmingly elegant James Bond in the 1980s, arguably plays the most vile character on television in the Yellowstone spin-off.
If Whitfield's wicked ways willingly continue, 1923 will lose a viewer immediately. It's one thing to portray a character's untoward sexual desires, but it's quite another to revel in such disturbing and violent sadomasochistic humility as seen in Season 2, Episode 1, "The Killing Season." Far from a sole writer's opinion, the outcry on Reddit supports the sentiment that Whitfield ought to be nixed.

If you wondered how 1923 Season 2 might unfold, the tale may be in the titles of the first three episodes.
We begin with “The Killing Season,” followed by “The Rapist is Winter,” and finally, “Wrap Thee in Terror.”
Those are not playful titles. They’re brutal and frightening, and if 1923 Season 2 Episode 1 is any indication, they mean business. But it could very well be that the Duttons will prevail while their natural and human enemies feel the brunt of the sword.
(Trae Patton/Paramount+) The Dutton Fight for Love and Land
That’s not a big surprise. The Duttons have been fighting for their lives, land, and livelihood since we first met them.
Yellowstone introduced us to the family as they clung to their heritage against forces desperate to tear them down and away from the land they called home.

Brandon Sklenar has been on quite a journey with Spencer Dutton.
1923, which returned with its second season on Sunday, has been charting the transcontinental escapades for the elder Dutton in the Yellowstone prequel series from Taylor Sheridan. Will Spencer ever make it home to Montana, so he can save his family’s cattle ranch from the threats the Duttons faced in 1923? How will he manage that promise now that he and his soulmate, wife Alex (Julia Schlaepfer), have been separated by bodies of water?
Sklenar had promised a tonal shift for season two. If season one was Spencer’s origin story, season two is poised to show how he rises from the ashes to be the hero. “The pain and the guilt that he’s carrying into this next part is going to shape him into a version of himself that we haven’t seen yet,” he...

The second (possibly final) season of 1923 remains cinematic. It has honest-to-God star power—not only because the series features Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, but also because Brandon Sklenar, after a successful summer with It Ends With Us, has now taken the reins as a full-fledged movie star on your streaming screen.
Sklenar commands your attention with the charisma and magnetism of a young Harrison Ford. You simply cannot take your eyes off him. And with rumors of 1923 coming to a close this season, Paramount+ would be smart to lock in a third, giving Sklenar full studio backing to take the Yellowstone chapter into the future.

The new Netflix true-crime docuseries The Sons of Sam: A Descent Into Darkness draws heavily from the works of investigative journalist Maury Terry. Terry didn't believe that convicted serial killer David Berkowitz, the notorious "Son of Sam" killer, acted alone, despite the official narrative given to the press. From 1976 to 1977, a shooter - or shooters - injured seven and killed six people in New York City with a .44 caliber gun. The docuseries presents the story through Terry's own words, as he spent his career going down multiple rabbit holes to connect Berkowitz to a widespread satanic cult. But who's the narrator of the story? The documentary's narrator isn't exactly a neutral and omnipresent one. It's Oscar nominee Paul Giamatti as Terry, and he's drawing from an adapted version of Terry's book, The Ultimate Evil, as well as other records.

Nestled among thick Redwood trees nearly 300 miles north of San Francisco is one of the most prolific cannabis producing regions in the United States: Humboldt County. Long known for its cultivation of the plant, Humboldt is one-third of the famed “Emerald Triangle” of Northern California (Humboldt, Mendocino, and Trinity Counties), which together comprise the largest cannabis-producing region in the United States. For decades, the thick cover of trees and seemingly endless rural terrain has made Humboldt an ideal place to covertly grow marijuana. The same conditions make the county an ideal place to disappear.

A&E may be reshaping its rollout of the new unscripted series “Generation Kkk” in light of early reaction it has seen about the show.
According to insiders, the network is mulling changing the show’s title, to perhaps something less flippant. “Generation Kkk” might sound like a shallow reality show about a bunch of young people hanging out in the Ku Klux Klan, but it’s actually a deep, sober, documentary-style look at families being torn apart by the hate group.
The show, which premieres Jan. 10, has been in production for a year and a half – but it was officially announced just this week. A&E kept “Generation Kkk” under wraps in order to produce the unscripted series without incident, but the timing of the announcement – with many uneasy about the country’s current transition of power – may be backfiring.

The remains of five young women were found in the marshes alongside Gilgo Beach, a remote spit of land on the south shore of Long Island, between December 2010 and March 2011. Parts of five more bodies were discovered in the same area the following month. Detectives theorized the murders were the work of a serial killer but turned up no suspects. The cases went cold and stayed cold. Police were accused of obfuscation and corruption, charges that would later prove true.
But there was something else, perhaps, hindering the investigations. The first five victims were identified as escorts, women who advertised their services online. Did police slack on solving the cases because they considered sex workers culpable for their own murders? How do you square a TV crew member, reporting on the search at Gilgo Beach, being overheard to say, “I can’t believe they’re doing all this for a...
