Do you love K-Dramas and zombie series? If so, you're in luck! Prime Video is set to drop a new Korean zombie series soon, featuring some familiar faces. The show is titled Newtopia, and we're here to share everything there is to know about it, including the official trailer provided above.

Don't be fooled into thinking Newtopia is just another typical zombie series. While most zombie shows are known for their dark, tense, and gritty tone, Newtopia takes a different approach. Sure, there’s plenty of action, but it also brings a refreshing mix of romance and comedy to the table.

Based on Han Sang-woon's Influenza novel, Newtopia was directed by Yoon Sung-hyun. Yoon is best known for his coming-of-age drama film Bleak Night and his action thriller Time to Hunt. He collaborated with Han Jin-won and Ji Ho-jin, who wrote the scripts for the zombie show. Han is known...

There are very few films that touch your heart, even if there are some obvious flaws in them. Every story about music prodigies is effective, and Keys to the Heart is indeed one of them. This Filipino Netflix original, directed by Kerwin Go, is a remake of the 2018 Korean film of the same name, in which a has-been boxer tries hard to reconnect with his estranged family. Keys to the Heart was released on the platform on October 4, 2023.

Keys to the Heart follows the story of Joma, a aspiring boxer, his estranged mother Sylvia, and her other son Jayjay, who is autistic but a gifted pianist. Sylvia is diagnosed with cancer, and she wants to look for her older son, who she believes can take up the responsibility of taking care of his half-brother once she is gone. Joma has had a troubled history with his mother and is unwilling to make amends.

There are a few standout new releases on Netflix in October, but it’s a rather quiet month on the world’s most popular streaming service otherwise!

Highlights this month include a brand-new series from Spook Master Mike Flanagan. The Fall of the House of Usher is a gothic tale loosely based on the short story of the same name by Edgar Allan Poe, and tells the story of two extremely unpleasant siblings whose family dynasty ends up going to hell in a handbasket. Before you ask: yes, Rahul Kohli is in it. That’s all that a lot of people need to know here (we’re people).

Elsewhere, Netflix is dropping a few interesting-looking docuseries, including one on football legend David Beckham. It promises to be an “intimate portrait” of Beckham, and the filmmakers were apparently granted unprecedented access to the sportsman and his family while making it.

Netflix’s October 2023 lineup includes Mike Flanagan’s much-anticipated horror series The Fall of the House of Usher, starring Carla Gugino, Bruce Greenwood, and Kate Siegel. The documentary series Beckham provides a peek into soccer superstar David Beckham’s personal life and soccer career, and Big Vape: The Rise and Fall of Juul delves into the controversial company.

Netflix’s October schedule also includes comedy specials, a new dinosaur series, and season seven of the adult animated comedy Big Mouth.

With the chillier fall months slowly creeping in, Netflix is more than ready for curl-up-and-binge-something season. This month, the streamer will debut some of its most highly anticipated projects of the fall season, including the latest Mike Flanagan horror series “The Fall of the House of Usher,” which will premiere just in time for your Halloween binge watching. Netflix will also bring several other horror films and series to its platform for at least the month, including “It Follows,” “Deliver Us from Evil,” and the new Spanish nun horror film “Sister Death.”

For the less horror-minded, in addition to dozens of Netflix Original films, series, comedy specials, family programs, and documentaries, such as the four-part documentary series “Beckham,” you’ll soon be able to stream a large collection of library additions that includes the recent blockbuster “Dune,” “Gladiator,” and more.

After spending two films as the God of Death in both the “Along With the Gods” films, Lee Jung-jae is back to take on the occult and dubious churches in Director Jang Jae-hyun’s latest film “Sabaha”.

Synopsis

This film revolves around a minister, played by Lee Jung-jae who investigates corruption within dubious, emerging churches.

While not much else is known about the story of the film, it is worth noting that director Jang Jae-hyun’s last feature “The Priests” dealt with the practises of exorcism. While Kim Yoon-seok and Kang Dong-won graced that film, Jang has gathered another superstar in Lee Jung-jae for “Sabaha”, as well as an impressive supporting cast of Park Jung-min, Jung Jin-young, Jin Jeon-kyu as well as teenage actress Lee Jae-in. The occult mystery thriller is expected in Korean cinemas on February 20th, 2019.

Director Lee Joon-ik is perhaps best known for historical dramas like “The King and The Clown” and “The Throne”. After “Dongju: The Portrait of a Poet” and “Anarchist From the Colony”, he is back with his latest film “Sunset in My Hometown”, which is marketed as the third film in his “Youth Trilogy”.

Synopsis

Underground rapper Hak-soo has challenged TV audition programmes for 6 years but never gets into the finalist. On the day that he fails his 7th audition, he receives a call from his hometown that his father is in the hospital. He rushes to his hometown Byeonsan, which he has left since high school only to find it is his father’s plot to bring him back to Byeonsan. He immediately heads back to Seoul, but circumstances lead him back to Byeonsan, the small, boring suburb where he meets his school friend Seon-mi.
