Typical Vijay fans movie, even though the story-line is good and Vijay carries it well. Few fight scenes are very heroic and the last 20mins of the movie becomes too commercial (things as usual kind). Overall this movie will be a success but Mr.ARM could have done the climax more better.
Sarkar - A decently made political drama/thriller film. Thalapathy Vijay proves to be the savior once again with his class. Kudos to the director for taking up such a sensitive topic as story and also to Vijay for enacting this drama. Full marks for that. I'm giving it a 10 for just that.
Negatives - Logic might be found missing in some of the scenes. I found one fight sequence unnecessary and an other fight sequence could have been shortened. Varalakshmi Sarathkumar's character had a great villain potential, but screen time was really less and the character went under utilised. Keerthi Suresh and Yogi Babu didn't have much role to play. The first song felt unnecessary.
Overall a decent one time watch.

Murugadoss standards have clearly lowered, the movie has nothing new to offer that same old messiah of the poor who defeats the corrupt and rich and the screenplay is bad and the action is terrible,it is just the same old fashioned story served on a different plate

Vijay Acting is perfect but other characters lacks it. The role of Heroine Keerthy Suresh is of no use and the BGM and few songs were not effective. But the Screenplay and story Plot were impressive. Dialogs were excellent which indicates the current scenario of that state. Finally, the Movie is a 1 time watchable.

Nothing is new.... vijay anna acting Supb........... LOTS OF LOGICAL HOLES...........
Vijay. Vijay is the plus point of the film. He carries the entire film with his charm and energetic screen presence. Even though the movie doesn't reach the heights set by vj-arm with their previous films, the movie strikes with a good theme.
Overall
average first half
. Amazing fight sequences
. Vijays energy
.Cliché i'm waiting Dialogue
.Promising second half
.Oru viral puratchi song
.Varalakshmis performance
.bgm

Sarkar is one of the best movies of Vijay and Murugodos team. The role of Vijay is very stylish, but we can find a lot of old styles he had shown in old movies throughout the movie, even though the dialogue- "I am waiting".
The film is unique because of the music of A.R Rehman. He did his part very well. Especially in the BGM and the title song. Apart from the music, the criticism against the current democratic system is also an appreciative effort from the movie makers.
Action scenes are good, and they do not make any more.
Still, I have a question why Keerthi Suresh is there. There is no romance in the movie.
The second half is filled with some lengthy dialogues and Vijay again proved that he can handle the dialogues perfectly.
On the whole, the entire film is totally entertaining.

The movie is fully focused in political element. And Vijay presence make the film into another level. But still film lacks to deliver entertainment as Vijay-ARM earlier combo. It's because of ARM wanted to give current political situation in TN. Apart from that film is pure political maaaas. Sarkar fully power packed Action political movie. Recommended to every type of audience.
Movie is for each one of us who wish to see a transition in our state. A.R.Murugadoss has given us an awareness of how to understand Government with a commercial package.
Have you ever questioned? the government, was the key point of Sarkar. We the people have the future of our country in our hands and where many never realize how big a part of the voting is important.
We all should effectively use the opportunities given to us to make a difference in our country. Great team work and as usual Vijay has given his best of best. Must watch movie and just don't miss the movie.

Good commercial movie.. content was good but laggging in screenplay Vijay shines in every frame & cinematography, stunts is good... one time watchable with family
Sarkar is a very good movie. Vijay has given the greatest performance in his career and simply shines in all of his scenes. The political content was also excellent with many dialogues that reference real life events. Seeing Vijay engage with the people throughout the film is a major plus point. The BGM is stunning and works perfectly for his character.
Despite all of that, there are some flaws. I'll admit that the screenplay isn't as good as many of movies that were released this year, as it is very linear and straightforward. I expected there to be a few twists and turns, but for the most part Vijay is dominating all of his enemies and there isn't much competition. Wish they had given Varulaxmi a more significant role. Also Keerthy Suresh was not needed in this film.
In the end, the movie was not meant for entertainment purposes but to deliver a political message. Do not go into the theater expecting another Thupaaki or Kaththi because the film is much more than that on a grand scale. It's impact on society and politics is what makes it stand out the most despite it's flaws.

Forget the littles in each - Forget the logical loopholes. Forget the over-the-top stunt sequences. Forget some of the misplaced song sequences. This movie may not be as thrilling as a Thuppaki or as sharp like a Kaththi but its very much worth watching multiple times purely for its strong bottom-of-the-heart very important public message. Apart from questioning the bad political elements & the pathetic situation that the state of Tamilnadu is currently facing for a few years now, the film questions each & everyone of us, makes us think from deep-within of our responsibility as a citizen to 'VOTE'. Are each & everyone of us really voting? Is there a 100 percent voting in every election? You guys & girls know the answer! Forget the reviews - Just watch this film for the strong content & the most important message in the climax. Full marks.

The star carries this watered down script on his shoulders and does an great job though over acting in some places. First half was rocking but the second half was slow with some unwanted songs and over draggy dialogues..but cant expect more from a political movie. Even though rahman's music was good ..it lacked a punch which mersal offered . Murugadoss could have done better in the screenplay and added a bit of mass in the second half which could have taken this movie to a different level. Overall its a deepavali treat for Vijay fans and its a decent one time entertainment for normal movie lovers.
The movie as a whole is not so worth to watch.First half is very boring with mismatched scenes and songs.Second half is somewhat managed to entertain almost got letdown and a disappointing climax.Direction, action sequences are below average.Bgm and songs are average.Big disappointment with all actors performance except with varalakshmi n radharavi.
If you are a Vijay fan and looking forward to a movie with some kickass action, entertainment, masala, good message, don't think too much go watch Sarkar, this is like a shameless fun movie the confidence and style of Vijay in dialogue delivery and action will make you feel cherished in every single moment, there is never a dull moment
AR had good grip over movie and AR Rahman has done good job with mass music of this film, Its a Vijay show altogether, Keerthy is just an eye candy, villain is also good, not much of a support cast, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar stands out
Go for it, a perfect festive entertainer, Vijay in top form and don't forget to cherish Corporate monster, top tucker and fight under flyover

The movie was super overhyped. But everything just didn't went well since the beginning. I'm a Thalapathy fan. First of all, I was really disappointed when the First single released (Simtaangaran) then I waited for the teaser but then it was bad too. N now about the movie. Music was okay but direction and storyline is outdated. Movie was draggy and lengthy. Overall one time watchable because of Thalapathy's stylish screen presence. I have no comments on Keerthi, simply waste.

The film opens well, shows how every single vote in a democracy is important. Explains a law under section 49p, which is good. But the problem is when Vijay comes in. After that point, you may have to put your brain in standby mode and forget logic and common sense.
1. He teaches laws to judges and top-notch lawyers in the country. 2. He calls himself a businessman but behaves like a 3rd grade cheap rowdy 3. He challenges politicians (which is good), but behaves worse than the politicians and only gives trash talk 4. The actual time of each fight sequence in the movie is under 2 minutes but since everything is shown in slow motion each scene is like 15 minutes of utter nonsense. 5. He is an average actor, but he tries too hard to act better which ends up being extremely hilarious. 6. The top politician of the state with over 3 decades of experience behaves like an amateur. He consults his daughter from Canada for every political move (remember, don't expect any common sense or logic). 7. The climax of the movie is the icing on the cake. When you finish the movie, you may have to down a few shots of vodka to make yourself feel better.
Vijay has acted in some superb movies, but this movie proves that his political ambitions have gotten to his head, and he is just using movies to gain popularity before contesting in elections (probably 5-10 years from now).
The people of Tamil Nadu have become mature. They no longer consider cinema stars as future administrators. It's better if he focuses more on his career and stop thinking about politics. Also, Vijay needs to take some good acting classes.
