This documentary about the clash between cola companies, is mildly interesting at best. It seemed heavily skewed towards promoting Pepsi, and stepping on Coca Cola. I did enjoy the nostalgic look at the old cola advertising commercials from the 70s-80s. If you think a documentary about sugar water can be interesting, then you may enjoy this film.
What struck me is there really was a period in US history when people had the time, energy and inclination to get all obsessed and worked up over something as trivial as a person's choice of a soft drink. Folks got enormously divisional about it - soda pressing.
Another thing, what are the odds that the marketing front-men these companies picked, Michael Jackson for Pepsi, Bill Cosby for Coke, had rises from super-stardom to off-a-cliff drop to infamy for exactly the same crime. I can't tell the difference, can you tell the difference? Not that this documentary touched on THAT with a ten foot pole. It's pretty superficial and I enjoyed it for what it was, a snapshot of a simpler time.

The other day just watched this doc from "The History Channel" called "Cola Wars" and being a soda drinker like billions of others and liking both Pepsi and Coke I found this informative and it brought back memories growing up in the 80's when the battle to be the number one soda pop consumed pop culture and life. Given are interviews with former CEO's and marketing executives, and advertising folks who gave their takes and secrets on the Coke and Pepsi war. Shown was how the Pepsi challenge of the 70's put Pepsi on top then Coke would try new Coke only to return to tradition and win with the classic formula. And the stars who signed contracts with each was shown as each tried to get legs up with famous folks drinking their product. Really this battle continues even today still give this doc a watch if you like history and pop culture and enjoy the taste of two soda giants.
...mentary of the most sparkling era in modernhistory, the war between pepsi and cocacola, whats best i shall not decide other than they donot beat the taste of a colabrand made here in norway , made by the GRANS brewery and the name of the drink is called ColaX, a diet coke version that really release energy out of zero calories, so do take the challenge and order one from that factory, youll never forget the taste...
this is not an add for a surtain norwegian brand, im still the grumpy old man, and has to buy all the soft drinks that i consume, but i can honestly say that i cant remember the last time i bought a cocacola, i just do not like the taste of it and the gnarling feeling when clenching your teeth, no its not good at all, and at the macdonalds, well i go for other tastes than coca cola..., im not an eager pepsi cola consumer either but in lack of grans cola x i can have a sip of real near freezing point cooled pepsi max for a refreshment, i can admit that, but as i pointed out earlier homebrewed is best brewed.
if you love old advertising this docu is a goldmine, i tells a bit about the world too but are mainly usa related. what i miss though are docus on other tastes that also have batteled the fields up through the history of softdrinks. and ive always asked the question, why drink bottled water when i live in a clean water country like norway, and how did the brands manage to convince people to buy water when they may stick their tongue out on a rainy day for cool refreshment.
that the end, a recommend from the grumpy old man

Very decent documentry about the history between the two big cola companies but a bit more bias towards Pepsi.
