Many models carved out acting careers doing late night erotic T&A fare during the 90's which 'Rising Stars & Sexy Starlets' is all about. You get genre ladies, a few Playmates in the same format. An interview, clips from their work and a video segment. They succeed in capturing the theme they were going for, but I expected more from this Playboy title.
"Lisa Boyle" talks about herself and 'I Like To Play Games'. This parlays into a movie premiere fantasy as she catches the eye of an attractive guy and they head off backstage where there's some lite boy/girl & solo poses. I've always liked Lisa, but this took too long to get going. There's some good shots - a great closeup of her boobs worth mentioning - but overall it didn't deliver (7 mins). "Lisa Marie Scott" Playmate Feb 1995, they show her in 'The Glass Cage'. Lisa was a professional ballerina in real life so that's the theme of her segment. She dances with a male partner clothed and when he leaves it turns into a solo strip that brings the nudity. Then he comes back, rejoins her for some topless dance moves to close things out (8.5 mins).
"Julie Strain" is a b-movie queen, former Penthouse Pet who needs no intro. A bunch of her movie exploits are shown as she speaks then she strips in a theater front row center. I've always enjoyed Julie's tall, sexy frame and this segment has some nice shots. Unfortunately standing in front of an actual screen with an image imposed over her isn't great (7 mins). "Ashlie Ray" (aka Ashlie Rhey) was an unfamiliar name, but a quick check yielded I'd seen her in one or two T&A pics. She ends up stripping as part of a movie role being offered to her and it's not worth talking about at length (4.5 mins).
"Monique Parent" is a familiar lady who has some roles shown before a James Bond-like segment catching the eye of a guy and ending up in bed together. Another scene that didn't do much for me (7 mins). "Kate Rodger" another unknown name has a girl/girl at a horse ranch which would be right at home in a T&A flick, but I didn't find it very spicy (7 mins). "Kelly Burns" is the pseudonym for actress Kehli O'Byrne. A common tactic used to distance themselves from this line of work. Her 'Watch Me' gets highlighted before she ends up filming an acting job making out with her male co-star and it's a snooze (7 mins).
"Anna-Marie Goddard" was Playmate Jan 1994 and no doubt a pretty lady. However I have the sinking suspicion this isn't new material of her meaning its inclusion is a bit of a stretch (4.5 mins). "Shauna O'Brien" however is a legit genre lady and a Penthouse Pet as "Stevie Jean". She does a high energy number on the backlot of a movie set and there's some good shots, but it doesn't get as hot as you'd like (5.5 mins).
It's easy to count up the winners vs losers columns to conclude 'Rising Stars Sexy Starlets' doesn't do enough. As a fan of softcore ladies from b-movies or models from Playboy, Penthouse this title had a lot going for it. However much of this goodwill got swept away by tame segments and too much talking.
