NBA all-star Stephen Curry and Erick Peyton’s Unanimous Media banner has bolstered its executive ranks and named Sharla Sumpter Bridgett as chief content officer.

Sumpter Bridgett, most recently a producer at Chernin Entertainment, will bring her film and TV production expertise to Unanimous and its focus on family, sports and faith-based content. The outfit is backed by first-look development deals with Universal Studio Group for scripted and unscripted television projects and DreamWorks Animation for kids and family content.

Dramatizing the Welshman’s formative early years as an actor, from his rough working-class adolescence to the brink of celebrity in his mid-twenties, Evans’ film intends to show us an unformed boy scarcely recognizable as the imposing, burgundy-voiced lead of “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” and “Look Back in Anger,” right down to his unfamiliar childhood name: Richie Jenkins.

Jennifer Salke is stepping down as the head of Amazon MGM studios. The announcement was made in an internal email to staff by Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios head Mike Hopkins.

She is exiting the company with plans to start a production outfit that already has an overall first-look deal across both film and TV at the studio. Amazon MGM will not be replacing Salke, instead having head of film Courtenay Valenti and head of TV Vernon Sanders handle their separate arms, both reporting in to Hokins.

Salke joined Amazon in 2018, after a hard-fought executive search Roy Price, as the tech giant turned entertainment company was scaling up its original productions. Actor Clive Revill, known in part for his work on Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, has passed away.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Revill died on March 11 while at a care facility in Sherman Oaks, California. According to his daughter, Kate Revill, her father died following a battle with dementia. He was 94 years old.

Revill is known to Star Wars fans for his role in the original cut of 1980's Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back. After he worked with director Irvin Kerschner on 1966's A Fine Madness, Revill was called upon to record some dialogue to be used for the voice of the emperor, in which the character is presented as a holographic projection. In the next movie, Return of the Jedi, Ian McDiarmid took over the role of the emperor, and in the 2004 DVD release of The Empire Strikes Back, McDiarmid's version was used to...
