We—like most of Hollywood—are over extreme nail art. But in Minnie Driver's case we're about to make an exception. Because the Behind the Lights star just posted what could easily be the manicure of the year. Yesterday, the actress shared a close-up of her four-finger tribute to…Sade! Yes, itty bitty photos of the queen of cool and singer of "By Your Side," "No Ordinary Love," and "Kiss of Life" adorned Driver's digits. The image used for the nail decals was from a shoot with photographer David Montgomery in 1980. In it, the crooner rocks a denim shirt, gold hoop earrings, red lipstick and an over-the-shoulder braid—Aka classic Sade style. "#Tbt...

Friendly Fires played to a soaked crowd at T in the Park today. The St Albans trio's frontman Ed McFarlane, sporting a Hawaiian shirt, headed straight out to the drenched audience, however, before playing a storming set on the NME stage. The band performed recent single 'Live Those Days Tonight', as well as 'Skeleton Boy' and set closer 'Kiss Of Life'. Friendly Fires discussed the possibility of being nominated for this year's Mercury Prize for second album Pala before the gig. Guitarist Edd Gibson told NME: "I don't know - we're pretty good at getting nominated for things. There's been a spate of decent music out though. "Adele, she's done something incredible herself. 'Soldier of Love' singer performed classics and recent hits after John Legend warmed up the crowd.

Uniondale, New York — If the name Sade only conjures up a melancholy Diddy-Dirty Money lyric (from "Ass on the Floor"), then her reemergence on Tuesday night at Nassau Coliseum, a week into the North American leg of her 2011 world tour, might not seem significant. But it's been a decade since the iconic, often reclusive singer hit the road, and her presence onstage seemed to prove that pop still has its constants.
Over the course of about 90 minutes, the Nigerian-born Brit waded through a discography that spans nearly 30 years and never seems to collect dust. In fact, her opener, "Soldier of Love," is a pounding battle hymn that shares little of the DNA of her '80s classics. Dressed in all-black and perched atop strappy stilettos,...

Regular Screen Rant readers will know that 20th Century Fox has been slowly and ever so quietly developing a Planet of the Apes prequel, which is tentatively titled Caesar: Rise of the Apes . Well, it looks the special effects maestro Aaron Sims (shouldn’t that be simian?) is now attached to the project.
Sims spoke to MTV about the Planet of the Apes prequel at the Clash of the Titans premiere, and when he was quizzed about the potential primate project, he said:
“They’re just starting. There was another director. It’s in the process right now.”
When asked to confirm if there was a director Sims said:
“No–. We’re just starting on that project, it’s just coming around.”
This seems to gel with what we already know about the new Pota film, which (at this early stage in development) will be a prequel to the 1968 Charlton Heston original.

Cannes taps 6 filmmakers for residence
PARIS -- The Festival de Cannes on Wednesday named the six young filmmakers chosen to attend a four-month residence in Paris to prepare a movie project. Those selected by a jury headed by Gallic director Claire Denis are Brazil's Karim Ainouz, Argentina's Veronica Chen, Britain's Stephen Ellis, Finland's Kirsi Liimatainen, Hungary's Kornel Mundrunczo and Italy's Marta Parlatore. Mundrunczo's first film was selected in the Cannes sidebar Un Certain Regard in 2002, while Ainouz's directing debut screened in the Directors' Fortnight sidebar this year. The Festival Residence is organized under the auspices of the Cinefondation and provides an opportunity for filmmakers to develop a first or second feature-length movie. Previous participants include U.S. filmmaker Peter Sollett (Long Way Home) and the United Kingdom's Emily Young (Kiss of Life), both of which unspooled in Un Certain Regard.
