Amy Schumer, star of Netflix’s upcoming feature Kinda Pregnant, is heading to Denver, Colorado.

The comedian is to headline the opening night of television festival SeriesFest. She will kick off the 11th iteration of the event on Tuesday, April 29 with a stand-up performance at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

The event has been gaining momentum over the last few years with appearances from the cast of Grey’s Anatomy and Mark Duplass last year.

“We are thrilled to have the multi-talented Amy Schumer kick off our 11th year with a very special performance for SeriesFest,” said Randi Kleiner, SeriesFest CEO and co-founder. “Amy is an innovator and her range of talent is exemplified by her award-winning experience as a film and television series writer, director, producer and star. Amy Schumer recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to talk about the new season of Life & Beth, which premieres this Friday on Hulu.

The dramedy focusing on the life of Beth, who starts having flashbacks to her teen self, earned plenty of plaudits for its unapologetic comedy. Accordingly, Hulu took little time in renewing it for a second chapter, which is set to be about parenting and relationships.

Heading into Sunday’s Golden Globe ceremony, Ricky Gervais was not confident he would win the first-ever award for Best TV Stand-Up Comedy Performance. “I’m nominated for another Golden Globe tonight,” he wrote early Sunday about his “Armageddon” Netflix special. “Won’t win, but it’s nice to still be up there in the mix, flying the flag.” Well, he did end up winning, but he wasn’t in attendance to accept his prize.

Hours after the ceremony wrapped up, Gervais posted a three-word acceptance speech on social media as only he could: “I f***ing won!” The comedian accompanied the remark with a photo of him holding a Golden Globe from when he hosted the ceremony years earlier — see below.

Gervais later followed that up with some more, shall we say, heartfelt words of wisdom.

The six inaugural nominees are some of the funniest emcees working today, but it’s Chris Rock who is predicted to make history by becoming the category’s first-ever winner, per Gold Derby odds. He’s nominated for his buzzed-about live Netflix special, “Chris Rock: Selective Outrage,” which drew eyeballs for the way in which he addressed the infamous Will Smith slap at the Oscars.

Rock has leading 18/5 odds to prevail on Sunday night. In addition to a top-to-bottom organization overall, the Golden Globes has added two new categories for its next awards, for cinematic and box office achievement and stand-up comedy performance on television.

The creation for a box office achievement award is clearly a move to attract viewers who have tuned out kudofests in recent decades because they tend to focus on little-seen movies. The category honors artistically outstanding films that have grossed more than $150 million, with at least $100 million coming from the domestic box office, or have commensurate streaming viewership confirmed by a “trusted industry source.” Films released after Nov. 22 may qualify if their projected box office or viewership meets the benchmarks.

In the comedian’s new Netflix stand-up special, “Amy Schumer: Emergency Contact”, she pokes fun at Baldwin for pretending to be from Spain, nearly three years after her heritage scandal surfaced.

Schumer, 42, joked about the fact that “Hilaria from España” is actually “Hillary from Boston” during a set about parenting and motherhood.

The meteoric rise of comedian Amy Schumer has been nothing short of remarkable.

Amy Schumer strikes out with several celebrities she asks to be emergency contact in a clip shared by Netflix on Monday ahead of the Tuesday premiere of “Amy Schumer: Emergency Contact.”

After telling her confused husband Chris Fischer she has no idea what name to put on the form, Schumer calls Jennifer Lawrence, who gives her the cold shoulder: “We were, like, barely friends 10 years ago. How did you get this number? I don’t want to get back in touch. Good luck with your health issue,” the actress says before hanging up.

Chris Rock is surprisingly enthusiastic, telling her, “Absolutely. You should call me if anything goes wrong, like Harvey Keitel in ‘Pulp Fiction.'” But she hangs up on him when he adds, “People are going to be rooting for your death.”
