Throughout the first few episodes of Invincible Season 3, Mark's anger at Darkwing is made clear, but fans may have trouble remembering exactly what he did to deserve it.

Darkwing is one of Invincible's many parodies of characters from Marvel and DC comics. Whereas a show like The Boys satirizes these characters with a layer of critique, Invincible tends to take a more classically heroic approach.

That is not to say Invincible is not a critique of superhero media — at its center is Omni-Man, a dark take on Superman. But, Atom Eve (Green Lantern/Star Sapphire), Rex-Splode (Gambit), and others are relatively heroic interpretations of their source characters. Darkwing, the Batman parody, however, is a bit of an exception to that.

The Hoenn region is a complete departure from the Kanto and Johto regions that came before it. The third generation of Pokmon brought a brand-new aesthetic and tone of the series, changing it forever. Hoenn is a brighter, more colorful, and more cartoonish region, and this is expressed through the designs of the Pokmon native to it.

The tropical region of Hoenn introduces 135 new Pokmon. Within the Hoenn Pokdex are the best designed trio of Starters in the series, numerous water-types and weather-themed Pokmon that perfectly suit the region, and significantly more Legendary Pokmon than either Kanto or Johto. While there are still some Pokmon in line with the design philosophies of the previous generations, many of Hoenn's designs are more imaginative and experimental.

The striking landscapes of the Hoenn region are home to Generation 3 Pokmon games, Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, and introduced many now-familiar Pokmon to the series. The Hoenn region includes biomes ranging from deserts to rainforests and even had many large islands that could only be reached via the water, often taking advantage of certain Water-type Pokmon abilities. Each of these games, along with their later remakes, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, are beloved titles for the story they told as well as the incredible Pokmon that they debuted, many of whom are still some of the strongest in the series.

In a new partnership between The Pokmon Company International and WildBrain, the first 22 seasons of the Pokmon anime series are heading to North America, alongside four other territories, for free streaming.

Canadian media licensor and animation distributor WildBrain announced that it has become the sole distributor of the single-ip Pokmon Fast (free ad-supported streaming television) channel. What this means for viewers is that Pokmon will receive a channel devoted solely to the animated series, for which WildBrain will negotiate with its streaming partners to bring to households first in the United States, followed by Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. These streaming partners include Samsung, LG, Roku Tubi, and Pluto. No specific date for the channel has been announced as of writing.

Legendary Pokmon are highly sought after, and a highlight of each new Pokmon game, but the remain some of the rarest creatures in the series. Legendaries are often tied into each game's main story, or a focus of the post-game quest, and they often have high stat totals. Rayquaza, Kyurem, and Necrozma are among the series' rarest Legendary Pokmon, only appearing in a handful of mainline titles.

In every Pokmon game that has been released, Legendary Pokmon are often the staples and selling points of the games. Fool Me Once is the story of military helicopter pilot Maya Stern, a captain who loses her career in a scandal and suffers two bereavements in short succession. It’s fast-paced, kind of ridiculous viewing that takes you down an extremely twisty path before tying everything up in a big not-exactly-watertight-but-it’ll-do-fine knot – which makes it pretty perfect viewing for a brain-fogged New Year’s Day after all of December’s indulgences.

The tributes have begun to pour in for NCIS veteran David McCallum, who died this morning at 90 in New York.

McCallum was the last remaining original cast member on CBS’ NCIS. He played Chief Medical Examiner Donald “Ducky” Mallard, an eccentric but highly efficient investigator with a knack for psychological profiling, for two decades.

In a statement provided to Deadline, longtime NCIS star Mark Harmon said, “David lived a great, full, long life. I was in awe when I first met him and all of us on the show were honored to have toed a mark opposite him. My condolences go out to Katherine and his family.”

David McCallum, the Scottish actor who portrayed the enigmatic Russian-born U.S. secret agent Illya Kuryakin on The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and the chief medical examiner Donald “Ducky” Mallard on NCIS, died Monday. He was 90.

McCallum died of natural causes surrounded by family at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, a spokesperson for CBS announced.

McCallum also starred opposite Joanna Lumley for four seasons on the 1979-82 British sci-fi series Sapphire & Steel (she was Sapphire, he was Steel) — a show many see as a precursor to The X-Files — and played a British prisoner of war on the acclaimed 1972-74 BBC drama Colditz.

McCallum was married to British actress Jill Ireland from May 1957 until she left him for brawny actor Charles Bronson a decade later. McCallum rebounded quite nicely, though, quickly marrying model Katherine Carpenter in 1967, and his wife of 56 years survives him.
