The story of the two Veronese lovers from feuding families whose forbidden love ends in tragedy is one of the most famous stories ever told in the history of literature. And while there are several versions of the story, the tragedy Romeo and Juliet by the great William Shakespeare is the most famous one.

One of Shakespeare’s best and most famous works, Romeo and Juliet has been adapted numerous times, both on the stage and on the screen. Some of these versions are well-known works and as you might know, a new version is coming up.

The new adaptation will be a musical and it will draw inspiration from the actual story that inspired Shakespeare’s tragedy. The movie is set to premiere this year and we have some details for you!

Warner Bros is once again digging into Fortnite as part of a promotion for Ryan Coogler‘s upcoming Sinners. Based on the film starring Michael B. Jordan, the Sawhorse-developed Sinners: Survive the Night has just launched in Fortnite, and pits teams of six players against vampires in a Survival Horror challenge.

Per Variety, Sinners: Survive the Night features likenesses of Jordan and other members of the cast in a custom map based on the film. Gameplay features an albeit expected (but welcome) twist that’s akin to Halo‘s Infection Mode: those players who have been eliminated subsequently become vampires, forcing players to fight against their former teammates.

The main goal for Human players is to survive until daylight, while the Vampires must eliminating all remaining human players before dawn. In-game currency can be collected by recruiting Npc allies and unlocking items within the experience.

Horror fans looking for a scare in “Fortnite” will get a fix with the release of Warner Bros.’ “Sinners: Survive the Night” game. Based on the upcoming film “Sinners” from director Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan, the game launches Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. Et/9:00 a.m. Pt.

"The Electric State" has generated nothing but trouble for Netflix.

The streamer spent a whopping $320 million on the film –- which boasts the expensive but wasted talents of Chris Pratt, Millie Bobby Brown, Stanley Tucci, and the blockbuster titans Joe and Anthony Russo –- only for it to debut as an almost immediate viewership flop on Netflix. This was no doubt due to the poor reviews it received upon release (sharing little in common with its lauded source material), as even the platform's own subscribers had already seemingly passed on it in favor of a little-known natural disaster documentary.

But if tornadoes aren't your thing -– and you're not looking to get involved with an overlooked sci-fi series like "Tales from the Loop" –- we've found loads of films currently available to stream or rent online that offer more compelling stories, more impressive visuals, and more human performances than "The Electric State" has to offer.

Even though reports suggest that the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is real and apparently debuting as soon as April or June, nothing has been officially announced yet. However, an Oblivion remake does make sense, considering it’s one of the most highly-rated franchises in the Elder Scrolls franchise.

The next hit video game to be turned into a feature film is Minecraft. Dubbed A Minecraft Movie, the film based on the game is hitting theaters on April 4.

Some fans may be wondering why the film was given its title, as it's unique in that it uses "A" instead of "The" at the beginning. Per Variety, the title was officially explained by director Jared Hess along with Mary Parent, Legendary's chairman of worldwide production. Parent noted how the original Minecraft video game didn't offer a clear narrative, given its focus on creative worldbuilding over traditional storytelling. Hess also pointed out how there are endless stories that can be told in the world of Minecraft, and the filmmakers weren't looking to brand the film's story as being above any others.

Despite video game adaptation being a hit-or-miss, studios continue striving for a success story like HBO’s The Last of Us, hoping to not only make money but also push their gaming franchises forward in new ways.

Xbox is bringing more of its games to the big screen and television. According to Xbox boss Phil Spencer, the upcoming Minecraft movie is just the beginning. In a recent interview, he confirmed that more movies and shows based on Xbox franchises are on the way.

Spencer said this ahead of the release of the Minecraft movie, which is set to hit theaters on April 4, 2025. The film stars Jack Black as Steve, alongside Jason Momoa, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers, and Sebastian Eugene Hansen.

He also talked about how video game adaptations are becoming more popular, with movies like The Super Mario Bros. Movie and the Sonic the Hedgehog films being huge hits. He said Xbox is still figuring out the best way to bring its games to Hollywood.

“We learned from doing Halo. We learned from doing Fallout. So all of these build on themselves,” Spencer said. “Obviously, we’ll have a couple that miss.

The latest shakeup in the world of media has resulted in Disney laying off nearly 6% of its total staff across ABC News and its TV division. Per Variety, via a source close to the matter, the 6% figure means that about 200 workers across both branches will be losing their jobs.

Also, as part of the cuts, the company is discontinuing its FiveThirtyEight (538) data unit that had been part of ESPN before being absorbed by ABC News. Twitch‘s junk food battle royale is dropping into The Glitch. That’s the name of the Fortnite island that will host Battle of the Brands, a DoorDash-sponsored tournament that will be contested by a dozen top streamers.
