Throughout much of the episode, Abed is wearing a t-shirt with the logo for The Dead Alewives. The Dead Alewives were an improvisational comedy group formed in the 1980s in Milwaukee. Series creator, Dan Harmon, and show director, Rob Schrab, were among the founding members.

The "CB radio" the Dean found, which had supposedly been sealed in the computer department since the 1970s, is actually a Motorola XTL5000 digital mobile radio which was introduced in the early 2000s and is not capable of working on U.S. CB frequencies.
