The isekai genre has a tendency to feel both overwhelming and alienating. Its tremendous popularity means that we get roughly six million new series each season, stories about hapless people being reincarnated in another world and posited to fit some fantastical new destiny. Meanwhile, its typically strict adherence to a particular narrative arc dictates that if one doesn’t find something to latch onto with one series, they might just ignore the genre entirely. But if you’ve ever been curious about isekai, but hesitant (or unable) to find a suitable entry point for yourself, Zenshu might just be your saving grace. Animated by Mappa, with direction by Mitsue Yamazaki and stellar script composition by Kimiko Ueno, Zenshu concerns animator Natsuko Hirose and her journey from the real world (in which she’s a wunderkind in the anime industry) to the world of A Tale of Perishing. Perishing was Natsuko...

A character's introduction in anime is one of the most important moments for that character as it sets the tone for how audiences will perceive that character. While some introductions are subtle or efficient, some of the best in anime history are also the funniest, instantly endearing audiences to that character.
Character introductions can be done in all manner of ways, all of which serve to give the audience and surrounding characters a sneak peek at what makes said character unique. They can play with fellow characters and audiences' expectations of how the story will proceed or how that character will behave in distinctly clever ways. Regardless of how it's done though, the funniest anime character introductions are gut-busting scenes that are just as funny out of context as they are in context.

The world of shojo anime and manga has always adored its staple clichés. It's rare to come across a shojo series that doesn't indulge in melodramatic love triangles, miscommunication drama, or "opposites attract" plots. The overabundance of tropes in the genre is a perfect ground for satire and deconstruction, and that's exactly the niche Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun takes up in the shojo landscape. Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun is a cult-classic shojo parody about cheerful high school sweetheart Chiyo Sakura's attempts to make her dense love interest, Umetarou Nozaki, acknowledge her feelings.
Despite being a shojo mangaka himself, Nozaki seems oblivious to love in real life. And while the humorous bashing of shojo tropes is Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun's main merit, the show doesn't shy away from utilizing the genre clichés it satirizes. By embracing shojo tropes, Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun crafts a brilliant story that's both humorous and sincere.

Holiday episodes might grab the most attention, but some of the best episodes in anime have the cast attending local festivals. In Japan, festivals are held to celebrate several special occasions: people often dress in traditional clothing, enjoy tasty treats and fun games, and come together at the end of the night for a fireworks show. Schools often hold festivals and fairs, largely run by students, showcasing athletics, food, and other skills they want to display to classmates and visitors.
These episodes vary greatly in tone from show to show. Some will use the festivities as a break from the action or milk them for as much comedy as they can. Others will use them as a set piece for some of the most dramatic and even heartbreaking moments in any anime. Here is a list of the best festival episodes in anime history.

Who says being a parent means you have to sacrifice all the fun of being an otaku?
As reported by SoraNews24, Tora Con, an otaku-oriented dating service, recently surveyed 1,741 Tora Con users between mid-May to April on what the users may do if they plan on someday starting a family with kids. While many users admitted they might have to make different decisions as a family-oriented otaku, compared to when they didn't have that to worry about, 73 per cent of respondents maintained they would still continue their otaku hobbies even after having kids. Only 7 per cent believed they would have to abandon their passion.
