What had so much promise, falls well short of the mark. Have to remind myself this is a BBC Drama, not some low budget CH5 one. The acting isn't just 'clunky' it's like no one read the script (which is also particularly poor) and the director has not bothered to set the scenes up at all! It's a painful watch, as neither central character can carry a scene at all, and the supporting cast just look at best lost - as if they don't know if they are meant to be in that part or not. The sense of 'urgency' and impending doom just isn't there - it lacks any real tension, and the score of anything makes it worse. Having watched all the episodes on iPlayer I'd say don't bother, if you must just watch the last one so you don't have to sit through 6 episodes of this. BBC what have you done? This is appalling!

It's hard to decide what is worse, the absolutely dreadful acting, the appalling badly written script, or the fact yet again the 'glory glory USA' BS that's trotted out that yet again the Yanks won the war alone. As far as history goes the narrative is totally wrong, and as ever the absolute stench BS from this pitiful effort cannot be ignored. Money would have been better spent on getting people in that can act, writing a script that was actually interesting, and getting the facts straight - all the budget went if the over dramatised special effects which will entertain dim witted as ever. All the high scoring reviews have clearly been written by GenAI bots - but seriously don't waste your time on this puerile dross. 0/10.
