Procedural dramas in television tend to focus on a group of specialized professionals as they work to solve a wealth of complex problems. So, whether it's General Hospital or Law & Order, these shows give fans something to really focus on and allow them to sink their teeth into the nuances of the mystery. Due to the broad nature of this genre, there are many long-running procedurals, all of which provide audiences with a unique sense of dramatic tension.

Although a lot of the most popular procedural dramas have been running for decades, the 2020s have also provided audiences with a ton of exciting programs. Even when the Covid-19 pandemic made the entertainment industry grind to a halt, certain networks continued to produce these shows. As such, it seems that this new decade has spawned a new generation of hard-hitting procedural dramas.

The first teaser trailer for the upcoming Star Wars series Ahsoka debuted at the 2023 Star Wars Celebration in London. In addition to Rosario Dawson as the titular character, the teaser features many of the key players and confirmed the series will launch on Disney+ in August 2023.

The minute-and-a-half trailer offers a quick look at Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Fargo) as Hera Syndulla, Natasha Liu Bordizzo (The Society) as Sabine Wren, and Rogue One‘s Genevieve O’Reilly returning as Mon Mothma. Ray Stevenson plays Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno is Shin Hati, Maurice Irvin is Senator Mawood, Jacqueline Antaramian is Senator Rodrigo, Nelson Lee is Senator Xiono, and Erica Duke is Gran Senator.

Disney+ and Lucasfilm also released a batch of photos and a new poster for the Star Wars series.

“Star Wars” fans are enjoying their first look at the latest Disney+ TV series from the franchise, with Rosario Dawson reprising the role of Ahsoka Tano, which she introduced in “The Mandalorian”.

The first trailer for “Star Wars: Ahsoka” was unveiled on Friday, April 7 at Star Wars Celebration in London.

In a storyline ripped from the headlines, Bobby and Athena (Angela Bassett) followed up on their investigation on a corrupt rehabilitation facility in Los Angeles, where they suspected foul play had led to the death of Bobby’s longtime sponsor and friend Wendell (Maurice J. Irvin). The episode followed as Bobby revisited key moments from his past with Wendell, while he worked on seeking justice for his friend’s death in the present day.

The 2011 PollyGrind Film Festival recently wrapped up in Las Vegas, and the madman behind the scenes, Chad Clinton Freeman, checked in with Dread Central to share with us exclusively the winners of this year's fest.

Reveling in everything from arthouse to grindhouse to everything in between, PollyGrind has quickly made a name for itself as one of the up-and-coming premiere genre fests out there due to the success of each year of programming. This year's big winners (and flicks that will no doubt go on to find audiences soon) include the highly controversial The Bunny Game, The Super, Dear God No!, The Gruesome Death of Tommy Pistol and Ratline.

The 2nd annual PollyGrind assaults Las Vegas during an epic length film festival that runs Oct. 8-17 at Theatre 7 with enough sleaze and violence to make Sin City residents feel right at home.

Actually, the fest does open up on the 7th with a concert at Neon Venus with local acts like Monster Zero, Creepersin and many more.

However, the film portion of the fest opens on the 8th with Stuart Simpson‘s acclaimed Australian gorefest El Monstro Del Mar!, one of the best Russ Meyer/Roger Corman mash-ups with a Down Under twist. Read the Bad Lit: The Journal of Underground Film review of this gem here.

Other Bad Lit favorites in the lineup are Drew Bolduc and Dan Nelson‘s The Taint, which is still completely grossing out audiences on the festival circuit, and The Uh-Oh Show, the splatter-filled horror comedy by the Godfather of Gore himself Herschell Gordon Lewis.

Lawyer, Roland Carson's (Gregory Harrison) apartment is robbed by two assailants, whilst one of his clients, Melvin McGrange (Moe Irvin) is attempting to give him his gun for safety. Carson's bodyguard, James Belson (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) attempts to take them on and is shot. Melvin goes for his gun and injures one, but is fatally shot. Belson would have seen the intruders on the surveillance anyway, so it's unlikely he wouldn't have called the police and take on two armed intruders like that; unless there was more going on here, as is always the case. Flack (Eddie Cahill) introduces Carson as a "scumbag lawyer", which he prefers to call him. Belson survived and is at the hospital, he was Danny's former partner when they were on patrol.
