The Tremors 3: Back to Perfection episode of Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? was Written by Cody Hamman, Narrated by Adam Walton, Edited by Jaime Vasquez, Produced by Andrew Hatfield and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
Subterranean creatures become two-legged, gliding Ass Blasters in the second sequel to Tremors. Kevin Bacon isn’t there to fight them. Neither is Fred Ward. But Michael Gross is still around and ready to save the day… in a movie that didn’t have quite enough money or time to bring its monster action to the screen. Today we’re talking about Tremors 3: Back to Perfection (watch it Here). And we’re going to find out What the F*ck Happened to This Horror Movie!
Directed by Ron Underwood from a script he crafted with Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson, the 1990 film Tremors is one of the greatest creature features ever made.

When Universal Pictures released the classic creature feature Tremors (watch it Here) back in 1990, they decided to market it with poster art that brings to mind the iconic poster for Universal’s 1975 release Jaws. But before they made that choice, they had hired famed artist Drew Struzan – whose work includes the posters for Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, and Star Wars films, among many others – come up with a couple poster ideas. Yesterday, Struzan took to social media to share a look at a couple of his unused Tremors poster concepts… and you can check them out in this embed:

A new episode of the Revisited video series has just arrived online, and in this one we’re looking back at one of my personal all-time favorite movies, the 1990 creature feature Tremors (watch it Here)! To find out what we had to say about Tremors, check out the video embedded above.
Directed by Ron Underwood from a screenplay by Brent Maddock and S. S. Wilson (who also share story credit with Underwood), Tremors has the following synopsis: Handymen Val McKee and Earl Bassett are tired of their dull lives in the small desert town of Perfection, Nevada. But just as the two try to skip town, they happen upon a series of mysterious deaths and a concerned seismologist studying unnatural readings below the ground. With the help of an eccentric couple, the group fights for survival against giant, worm-like monsters hungry for human flesh.

This 1990 monster romp still feels bright, smart & fresh, a mix of light comedy and old-fashioned scares. The entire show is one long battle against smelly burrowing beasts called ‘Graboids.’ Desert handymen Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward must work hard to avoid taking their place in the Graboid Food Chain. Ambitious it ain’t, but it delivers what monster fans want — gross-out thrills, excellent effects and solid laughs. Arrow’s 4K Ultra HD disc is as sharp as a tack, and a second Blu-ray disc contains an unprecedented volume of featurettes, interviews and production documentation.

Did you know that the Tremors films have been going for almost thirty years now? It’s hard to imagine the franchise which pretty much launched Kevin Bacon’s career back in 1990 would still be entertaining moviegoers around the world. But it is, and we’re now getting word that to celebrate its third decade as a beloved cult monster series, actor Robert Jayne (Tremors 3 and Pearl Harbor) is working on an upcoming anniversary documentary. We’re not too sure what the doc will contain, but we’re pretty certain that fans will be excited to see it regardless.
“Working with NBC Universal on the “Tremors” Film franchise anniversary documentary, so amazing how something can sustain through time,” said Jayne.

As a rabid movie fan, there really is nothing like a killer franchise retrospective documentary to get me ten types of excited. Notable examples of this fun docu-genre include the four-hour A Nightmare on Elm Street doc Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy, the six-hour Friday the 13th doc Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th, and Bill Philputt's fun and informative More Brains! A Return to the Living Dead. And today it sounds like the good old Tremors series will be getting its own franchise retrospective documentary soon to mark its 30th anniversary.
At least if we can believe what snot-nosed little punk Melvin Plug aka Robert Jayne aka Bobby Jacoby has to say on the matter. All jokes aside, original Tremors actor Robert Jayne took to Facebook the other day to let the world know that, yep, NBC Universal has a Tremors franchise anniversary documentary in the works.

Yet another film from my youth and one that I distinctly remember from the pages of The Dark Side magazine (back in my pre-internet days when I used to buy horror mags religiously), Dr. Alien is a film that, despite my knowledge of it, I have yet to see. So this new DVD from 88 Films is a welcome addition to my ever-growing B-movie library.
After Ms. Xenobia takes over Dr. Ackerman’s science class following an “incident” the puts Ackerman in the hospital, she persuades a nerdish Wesley Littlejohn to participate in some vitamin research she and her assistant Drax are conducting. Suddenly Wesley becomes very desirable to all the ladies – including Ms. Xenobia herself – despite the fleshy antenna that grows out of his head when he’s excited!

Fans of early 1990’s direct-to-video sequels and early 1980’s European Nazi zombie flicks have reason to celebrate this February as Night of the Demons 2, Jean Rollin’s Zombie Lake, and Jesus Franco’s Oasis of the Zombies make their debut on Blu-ray.
First up on February 19th, Olive Films is set to give the Blu-ray treatment to Night of the Demons 2, director Brian Trenchard-Smith’s well-regarded 1994 direct-to-video sequel starring Christi Harris, Amerlia Kinkade, Robert Jayne, Zoe Trilling, and a pre-Mrs. Ben Stiller Christine Taylor.
In this diabolical sequel to the popular shocker, the students from St. Rita's Academy throw a party at a haunted house, only to have it disrupted by Angela, the hostess from Hell, and her ghoulish pals. The kids try to find refuge at a teen dance, but things get even scarier there! Bobby Jacoby and Amelia Kinkade star in this special effects-filled terrorthon...

While Rick and Kate's relationship is what drives Castle, those two hearts aren't the only ones on the line this season as Lanie and Esposito's rocky relationship comes back into focus over the coming weeks.
But is there room for two happy couples in Castle-land? That was the question I posed to Tamala Jones when we chatted earlier this week about this relationship resurrection, what fans can expect this season and her cinematic contribution to my childhood!
TheInsider.com: What was it like reading the premiere script and seeing how fully the show was going there with Castle & Beckett?
Tamala Jones: I was like, "Finally! God! I've been waiting." I just started clapping when I read the script ... and I was home alone! [laughs] To see it play out was even better -- but wait until you see what's coming this season. It's really cool the way the writers set it up. It's going to...

Michael Gross and Tremors may never actually go away. A few months ago we passed along rumors from an industry source that Universal was drilling down for a mid-year 2009 release of Tremors - The Complete Series. But by mid-year, we unfortunately followed up with a report that Universal Studios had apparently buried those DVD plans. Today, however, Universal has dug the title back up, dusted it off, and formally announced it for release on March 9th...
