Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival has selected 11 debut films for its First Feature Competition, including Steve Bache’s “paedosexuality” drama No Dogs Allowed.

The German film follows a 15-year-old boy trying to control his paedophilic impulses. He meets an older man in an online chat forum, only for the older man to take advantage of his insecurities. Paedosexuality is a term for the sexual fixation on children.

The projects will be pitched at South Asia’s largest film market.

India’s Film Bazaar market has revealed the 20 projects selected for this year’s Co-Production Market.

The invited titles originate from 11 countries and will be pitched to producers, distributors, festival programmers, financiers and sales agents at Goa’s Marriott Resort from November 20-24.

The line-up includes projects from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the US, UK, Singapore, Germany, France, Poland, Luxembourg and Israel.

India’s Film Bazaar, South Asia’s largest film market, has selected a range of projects from around the world for its annual co-production market.

The 20 selected projects are from 11 countries, most are already structured as co-productions, and they are all South Asian-themed. From Israel, the Hebrew-language “Raju” by Dror Sabo (“Dead End”), will be produced by Lee Yardeni for My TV Productions (“Nevelot”). Rafael Kapelinski, director of Berlinale winner “Butterfly Kisses,” is at the market with English, German and Hindi-language Germany-India-France-Poland-u.K. co-production “The Distant Near,” produced by Katharina Suckale for Bombay Berlin Film Production (“Loev”).

Hindi-language Germany-Luxembourg-France co-production “Kohinoor,” by Udita Bhargava (Berlinale selection “Dust”), will be produced by Martin Lehwald for Schiwago Film (Berlinale winner “Styx”). Yesterday, Focus Features unveiled a trio of strange teaser posters for their upcoming psychological thriller Inside, posters that showed things like canned food, moldy fruit, and a pigeon instead of the film’s star Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man: No Way Home). Those posters seemed to imply that Inside is going to be an odd, quirky film – but now that a trailer for Inside has arrived online, it doesn’t appear to be as off-the-wall as the posters were. Instead, it looks like this thriller is going to be quite intense, carried by another terrific performance from Dafoe. You can watch the trailer in the embed above.

The “Lighthouse” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” star leads upcoming Focus Features film “Inside,” directed by Vasilis Katsoupis (“My Friend Larry Gus”).

“Inside” tells the story of Nemo (Dafoe), an art thief trapped in a New York penthouse after his heist doesn’t go as planned. Locked inside with nothing but priceless works of art, he must use all his cunning and invention to survive.

Gene Bervoets, Eliza Stuyck, and Josia Krug also star, but “Inside” is billed as mostly a standalone Dafoe-led feature.

The film is written by Ben Hopkins, and produced by Giorgos Karnavas, Marcos Kantis, and Dries Phlypo. Karnavas’ Heretic production company most recently funded Palme d’Or winner “Triangle of Sadness.”

New features from Mexican director Amat Escalante and Mexican-San Salvadoran filmmaker Tatiana Huezo are among the 28 feature projects selected for the fifth edition of European Work in Progress Cologne (Ewip), the industry pitching event held from October 17-19 in the run-up to Film Festival Cologne.

Escalante will pitch Lost In The Night, about a man searching for those responsible for his mother’s disappearance, who encounters an incompetent justice system.

The Mexico-Germany-Netherlands-Denmark co-production is produced by Nicolas Celis and Fernanda de la Peza for Tres Tunas Cine. Escalante has previously directed four features including Venice and Toronto 2016 horror The Untamed.

Focus Features has acquired worldwide rights from Bankside to the psychological thriller Inside starring Willem Dafoe and has set a March 10 2023 US release date.
