Production on Dexter: Resurrection is in full swing in New York, and as things continue to evolve, new cast members are still coming aboard the sequel series, including How I Met Your Mother veteran Neil Patrick Harris. Harris starred in the popular CBS sitcom from 2005 to 2014, appearing in 208 episodes as Barney Stinson, a brash and opinionated womanizer known for his expensive suits and “legendary” catchphrases.

Per Variety, Harris joins the already stacked cast of Dexter: Resurrection in a guest-starring role, but other than that, little is known about his part in the series other than his character's name: Lowell. It remains to be seen if he will be a friend to Michael C. Hall's titular serial killer, or if he'll end up on his kill table at some point over the course of the 10-episode season. Neil Patrick Harris has officially been announced as a guest star in the highly anticipated sequel series Dexter: Resurrection.

Per Variety, Harris is set to play a character named Lowell, however, character details are being kept under wraps for now. The highly anticipated sequel series, which sees the return of Michael C. Hall as Dexter, began production in January and is expected to land on Paramount+ With Showtime sometime in 2025. Harris' casting announcement is fresh off the heels of Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter joining the show. Ritter will reportedly portray the character, Mia Lapierre, a "renowned sommelier whose alter ego is the 'Lady Vengeance' serial killer."

The new Dexter sequel is moving up its gears, as the prequel series has ended its roller-coaster ride of a first season. Dexter: Resurrection begins where New Blood left off, with the former Bay Harbor Butcher on the verge of death, only to be saved in the opening of Dexter: Original Sin.

Currently, details about Resurrection remain limited, though what is known is that Michael C. Major casting news has been revealed for Dexter: Resurrection. Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage has just joined the cast of the Dexter sequel series, and details about his role have also been revealed.

Per Deadline, Dinklage has officially joined the cast of Dexter: Resurrection. He will be a series regular, playing a big part of the upcoming show. The character is described as being the big bad of the season, serving as the next antagonist for Michael C. Hall's Dexter Morgan. TBS and TNT announced on Wednesday that they are about to become the first national networks to live stream on-air content across multiple platforms 24/7.

The networks made the announcement during TNT and TBS's annual upfront presentation in New York, noting that their content will be streamed through their websites and a pair of newly created apps: Watch TNT and Watch TBS.

"Starting this summer, subscribers will be able to watch TBS and TNT live –- anytime, anywhere, on multiple devices," Steve Koonin, president of Turner Entertainment Networks, told the upfront audience. Additional platforms for TBS and TNT's live streaming will be added by the end of the year.

TNT's coverage of the NBA games, TBS's coverage of Major League Baseball and both network's coverage of the Ncaa will be available for live streaming as well.

Writers Guild of America has announced the writers who receive nominations at next year's awards for their work in television. The most nod that one show gets is three, and that number is claimed by "Modern Family", "30 Rock" and "Breaking Bad".

"Modern Family" and "30 Rock", which have won Emmys, will be up against each other in comedy series and have each received two nods for episodic category. Meanwhile, "Breaking Bad" takes a nod in drama field and two additional episodic nominations.

AMC's "The Walking Dead" is vying for new series prize, battling "Boardwalk Empire", "Justified", "Treme" and "Men of a Certain Age" along the way. "Empire" in particular is also nominated for drama series against older and more prominent shows like "Mad Men" and "Dexter".
