Cobra Kai beautifully revives the rivalry from The Karate Kid with new characters, giving depth to 30+-year-old characters. Demetri in Cobra Kai stands out as a moral compass, showcasing humility, intellect, and staying true to his values. Fans love Demetri for his relatability, common sense, and growth, making him an underrated character worth noticing.

Cobra Kai beautifully weaves the 30+-year-old rivalry between Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) from The Karate Kid with a newly refreshed story following a young cast of karate students. The main new characters are Sam (Mary Mouser), Miguel (Xolo Mariduea), Robby (Tanner Buchanan), and Tory (Peyton List), with other supporting characters as part of the larger ensemble cast as well.

Some of these characters get their moments to shine, while others fade into the background with very few lines of dialogue. There are a few tertiary characters, however, who deserve more attention.

The Sekai Taikai Tournament will be at the heart of the final season of Cobra Kai, with intense training and difficult choices for the dojos. Tory's struggles, including her mother's death, led to her joining Kreese in the tournament, creating complex feelings among fans. Fans debate who should win the tournament, with Tory seen as a deserving candidate despite her affiliation with Cobra Kai.

Cobra Kais sixth and final season is gearing up to be all about the Sekai Taikai Tournament, the biggest worldwide tournament in karate. In the first five episodes of the season, Daniel (Ralph Macchio), Johnny (William Zabka), and Chozen (Yuji Okumoto) are busy training the kids to fight. However, when they learned that only six fighters could represent each dojo in the Barcelona-held tournament, they enlisted the help of Mike Barnes (Sean Kanan) to be an impartial sensei.

The rivalries between the kids of Cobra Kai come and go, but one thing remains forever true Robby Keene (Tanner Buchanan) is a terrible boyfriend. Sure, the guy has a lot of his own issues to deal with, but, the way he treats his girlfriend Tory Nichols (Peyton List) in Season 6 is pretty unforgivable. The guy is clearly not the teen heartthrob the showrunners of Cobra Kai often frame him as. Robby has always struggled, whether it be with forging a healthy relationship with his father, Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), or with controlling his own emotions. A troubled personal history continues into troubled relationships, as hes never been the reliably decent boyfriend that his girlfriends deserve. Whether it be with Tory or his ex-girlfriend Samantha Larusso (Mary Mouser), Robby always puts himself first, repeatedly proving himself unworthy of a committed romantic relationship.

The series had twists and turns as Maddie's ghostly form allows her to learn the secrets of her friends and family. She manages to talk to one fellow student for help which leads to a stunning finale.

Netflix has announced the sixth and final season of the much-loved ‘Karate Kid’ spin series ‘Cobra Kai’ will be split into three parts.

Comprising of 15 episodes in total, season six picks up with Cobra Kai eliminated from the Valley, our senseis and students must decide if and how they will compete in the Sekai Taikai — the world championships of karate.

Part one will premiere on the 18th of July 2024 which will then be followed with part 2 on November 28th. The final event will drop in 2025, no official date has yet been set.

Our soon-to-be newest mystery obsession has dropped an intriguing trailer with Paramount+ giving us another look into the afterlife in School Spirits. While high school was hell for many of us, it’s more like purgatory for Maddie Nears (Peyton List) who finds herself joining the Split River High Afterlife Support Group under mysterious circumstances. Revealing a thrilling whodunnit, today’s trailer fills in more of the background of who Maddie was before she pulled up a chair to join the others in the ghostly club. While she wasn’t one of the popular girls, Maddie was well-loved by her friends and family who soon find themselves caught up in her disappearance. Everyone is a suspect, and even though they can’t see or hear Maddie, she’s next to them every step of the way—as long as it’s on school property.

The final showdown is coming. Netflix has renewed the Cobra Kai TV series for a sixth and final season. Everybody’s gonna be kung fu fighting…for another season, anyway. “Cobra Kai,” the “Karate Kid” sequel series, has been renewed for a sixth and final season at Netflix, the streamer announced January 20.

“Reacquainting the world with ‘The Karate Kid’ universe has been our humble honor,” series creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg wrote in a statement posted to social media. “Making ‘Cobra Kai’ has allowed us to join the same hallowed dojo once inhabited by the great Robert Mark Kamen, John Avildsen, Jerry Weintraub, and all the amazing original cast members. It has also enabled us to play sensei, expanding the original storylines and birthing a new generation of underdogs. We’ve never once taken this opportunity for granted.

“Our day one goal with ‘Cobra Kai’ has always been to end it on our terms, leaving the Valley in the time and place we’ve always imagined.

Together with Meta, Crypt TV has announced “Eli Roth’s Be Mine: A VR Valentine’s Slasher,” an exciting and gut-wrenching horror VR experience launching in Meta Horizon Worlds and Meta Quest TV on Friday, February 10 at 7pm Pst/10pm Est.

For fans without a Meta Quest headset, Bloody Disgusting has learned today that the experience will also be available to watch on Crypt TV’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

The younger cast members of Cobra Kai all play teenagers in high school, and they are all relatively close in age. Actress Peyton List expressed confusion earlier this year over the current ages of the teens as they continue to grow out of high school. While many of the character's birthdays aren't explicitly mentioned, many of them are in the same grade and therefore could be determined based on what school year they are in.

The events of Cobra Kai begin 33 years after the events of The Karate Kid, beginning in 2017 when many of the teenagers are entering their sophomore year. With the Cobra Kai timeline now taking place in the summer of 2019 as of season 5, most of the students are now going into their senior year and on the verge of becoming adults. The consistency of the timeline helps make it easier to determine how old the Cobra Kai characters are.

Many issues plagued Star Trek: Nemesis but boring Romulans shouldn't have been one of them considering the film was written by the Academy Award-nominated writer of Gladiator. The final Star Trek: The Next Generation film, Star Trek: Nemesis was based around Shinzon (Tom Hardy), a clone of Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart), trying to destroy the United Federation of Planets. John Logan, a good friend of Brent Spiner, was hired as the writer of Star Trek: Nemesis, but he failed his own Romulan characters. Do you know when a movie is not particularly well elaborated and the story is a bit disappointing? ‘The Friendship Game’ is one such example. Following a rather flat start, and despite it, you think to yourself, “oh, I will give it a chance.” Because the premise seems promising, and we expect it to tell us a story with multiple narratives, and think, “it might actually be worth the while.”

Unfortunately, that is not the case, but, hey, we did give it a chance.

Ellie Kemper and Zach Cherry have signed on to co-host the Roku Original series “The Great American Baking Show.” Kemper and Cherry will take audiences into the iconic tent to watch contestants vying to become the America’s top baker.

A U.S. adaptation of the popular British competition series “The Great British Baking Show,” the new show will feature six 60-minute episodes and will premiere in 2023. In addition to Kemper and Cherry, judges featured in the original British iteration, celebrity chef Paul Hollywood and famed restauranteur Prue Leith, will serve as judges on “The Great American Baking Show.”

Despite the series being a spinoff of the hit movies, it has managed to take us on a wild ride, complete with new and established characters.

B-Loved (working title), from Endeavor Content and Wonder Worldwide, stars List as Bea, a free-spirited teenage ghost who forms a special friendship with the new boy in town, Cole, whose house she has been inhabiting for over 100 years. HBO Max and Cartoon Network has greenlit and acquired several projects for their kids and family live action slate, Variety has learned exclusively. The slate includes two specials based on Mattel’s American Girl franchise and a supernatural romance starring Peyton List.

The first American Girl special has the working title “American Girl: Corinne Tan,” inspired by the doll brand’s 2022 girl of the year and the first doll of Chinese descent. Miya Cech stars as 13-year-old ski enthusiast Corrine, who is still navigating her parents’ recent divorce while her 10-year-old sister Gwynn (Kai Cech), mom Judy (Michelle Krusiec), dad and stepdad Arne have adjusted to their new roles in this blended family. She discovers a new purpose when she challenges herself to train a rambunctious puppy named Flurry to become a search-and-rescue dog.

When Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) announces “Today is a turning point at Cobra Kai,” he means it. Every season of this show has ended in a game-changing cliffhanger. Last season, Sam’s (Mary Mouser) shocking loss to Tory (Peyton List) at the All Valley Karate Championship forces Daniel (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny (William Zabka) to close their dojos, Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang respectively. This one-night-only celebration marked Night 7 of Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival and brought together cast and producers for exclusive conversations, live performances, and surprise guest appearances.

Cobra Kai Season 5 is officially set to premiere globally on September 9, only on Netflix.

You officially have four months to pick up that karate gi from the dry cleaner. “Cobra Kai” Season 5 is set to premiere on Netflix on September 9, fans learned Thursday during Night 7 of the 2022 “Netflix Is a Joke” festival. Attendees of “Cobra Kai: Live & Bad Ass” were also treated to a teaser-trailer; Dave Chappelle really could have used the teens two nights earlier at his own “Netflix Is a Joke” event.

We get no John Kreese (Martin Kove) in the teaser, because, well, he’s in jail. But with Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) — the guy who put him there — still in town, there is plenty of kicking-based violence.

Based on the original ’80s “Karate Kid” franchise by Robert Mark Kamen, “Cobra Kai” focuses on the characters of Daniel Larusso (Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (Zabka), 30 years after the events of the original films. Now struggling with mid-life crises in their own ways, the two’s long-settled high school rivalry reignites after Johnny reopens the old Cobra Kai dojo as its primary sensei. Netflix’s Cobra Kai Season 5 will be released on September 9, it was revealed in the action-packed teaser trailer above.

The video sees the story pick up after the events of the Season 4 finale where Tory Nichols (Peyton List) emerged as the champion of the All Valley Tournament earning a major win for her dojo, Cobra Kai. But she didn’t really win, a fact she was made aware of in the final beats of last season when she overhears Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) admitting to rigging the results.

It appears Tory has not revealed the deception in the teaser, as Cobra Kai has now become the dojo for teens to kick butt in the valley in full franchise mode shuttering Miyagi-Do Karate and Eagle Fang.

Silver is back and holding a prominent position of power at the dojo and will face resistance.

Exclusive: Reid Miller (Joe Bell), Jonathan Silverman (Good Girls), Marguerite Moreau (Wet Hot American Summer) and Chris Mulkey (Twin Peaks) have signed on to star in the indie Feeling Randy, marking the solo directorial debut of veteran cinematographer Dean Lent.

The film inspired by Lent’s own youth follows Randy (Miller), who amid family turmoil, heads off with his high school buds on a road trip to uncover their emerging sexuality in 1970s California. Silverman and Moreau will play Randy’s parents, with Mulkey as his understanding teacher. Richard Riehle, Tyler Lawrence Gray, Kerrice Brooks, Shane Almagor, Blaine Kern III and O. Hibbs Wyman will round out the cast.

Lent penned the script, with Salome Breziner on board to produce under her Semblance banner. Production is underway in the Los Angeles area.

Miller is best known for starring alongside Mark Wahlberg and Connie Britton in Reinaldo Marcus Green’s drama Joe Bell for Roadside Attractions.

The Horror Collective, the genre label of Shaked Berenson’s Entertainment Squad, plans a day-and-date U.S. release November 16.
