Military rank is a key feature in the Colonial Fleet dynamics of Battlestar Galactica; one of these ranks is that of Cag Commander Air Group. This position, often filled by dynamic and charismatic figures, plays a vital role in the survival and defense of the Twelve Colonies and, later, the remnants of humanity.
The virtues of a good leader are reflected upon throughout the series, making for one of the ways Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek copied each other. The meaning of Battlestar Galactica's CAGs can be described as the glue of the fleet. While many on Galactica hold leadership roles, the Cag's unique skill set is essential for navigating crises. With thousands of crew and civilians aboard, a strong and decisive leader is crucial.

According to reports, Paramount and toy manufacturer Mattel will team up on a "Magic 8 Ball" live-action adventure feature with a screenplay by Jon Gunn and John Mann. Mattel's 'Magic 8-Ball' toy was invented in 1946 by Albert Carter, son of a clairvoyant, who marketed and sold the device with Abe Bookman of the Alabe Crafts Company. The hollow, plastic sphere resembling an oversized billiard 8-ball, contains a cylindrical reservoir containing a white, plastic, 'icosahedral' die floating in alcohol with dissolved dark blue dye. The die is hollow, with openings in each face, allowing the die to fill with fluid, giving the plastic die minimal buoyancy. Each of the 20 faces of the die has an affirmative, negative, or non-committal statement printed on it in raised letters. There is a transparent window on the bottom of the 8-ball through which these messages can be read. To use the ball, it must be held...

Remember the Magic 8 Ball? It's becoming a movie at Blumhouse. The wildly popular Mattel toy will get a live-action adaptation with Truth or Dare and Fantasy Island director Jeff Wadlow already set to write and direct the thriller.
Jeff Wadlow will be collaborating on the script with his team of writers that include Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach. The movie will mark Mattel's first foray into independent filmmaking. Mattel Films' Robbie Brenner had this to say.

Imagine a Die Hard scenario set aboard a passenger plane. Imagine if the John McClain of the movie was based on Marilyn Manson. Imagine if the terrorists were a Satanic cult trying to bring about hell on earth. If you’ve ever seen Turbulence 3: Heavy Metal, you weren’t imagining it.
If you’re a regular listener of my Foycasts, then you are probably already aware of my love for Turbulence 3: Heavy Metal. It really is one of those movies you have to see to believe.
The unlikely devil worshipper-whooping, plane-landing, hard-rocking hero of Turbulence 3: Heavy Metal is a Marilyn Manson clone named Slade Craven. Played by Canadian actor/musician John Mann, who is, rather ironically, more famous for performing in Broadway-style musicals and providing lead vocals for the Spirit of the West folk rock band. Mann’s physical and musical makeover into the Manson-esque Slade Craven...
