Jim Martin was born in 1968. Originally from Pittsburgh, he earned a Bachelor's degree in directing and acting at Point Park College. His first cinematic performance as a puppeteer was in Sony's The Muppets Take Manhattan (1984). He additionally performed in the television specials The Muppets at Walt Disney World (1990) (at the time of Jim Henson's tragic passing) and The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson (1990) (after Henson's passing). His television production credits include Fox Broadcasting Company's Dog City (1992), Playhouse Disney's Bear in the Big Blue House (1997), The Puzzle Place (1994) and Between the Lions (1999) on the Public Broadcasting Service.
